Thank you so much Barry, Happy New Year to you and thank you for your New Years gift☺️😉, 😮a bit “late” for Christmas 2024…., but probably “early” for 2025 ???! Anyways, one of my favourites by Chicago, a big thank you mate, now for some serious working out of both hands🙄🤗 BTW, you just got a new subscriber😎, I sure admire your painstaking, detailed instructions ! For a person with a cold, your singing was spot-on!
Excellent tutorial Barry. Always one of my favourite songs. My real problem is I get the intro mixed up with Carol King's It's Gonna Take Some Time. Thanks for the lesson.
Thank you. You have a really good ear as they both use the same chords to start (maj and maj7sus2 - at least as I'm hearing it) before Carole changes. Well done. I may need to add that tune to my list of songs to create tutorials for. Thanks.
@ Hi again Barry. I’ve only just found your Chanel and I really like your calm presentation. I’m probably too old for people shouting at me.😂 I’ll be looking at your England Dan tutorials when I get a chance. I’ve always been a huge fan of theirs and have about six of their albums. Thanks again for your time Barry.
Ha! I call M&M Peanuts "the old standard" 'cause I've enjoyed them since I was a kid. Yeah, a tasty Christmas present. Thanks for watching and for the fun comment.
@@barryvillaverde8631 Trust me, i've tried all sorts of dumber things, but no dice. i hope your channel grows exponentially because you deserve it. also, maybe you can add "nightbird" by kalapana to your long waiting list, but the macky feary solo version. i don't see any tutorials anywhere for it.
Wow, such a nice complement - thank you very much. Unfortunately, the illness continues. No worries, though. Thanks so much for watching and for taking the time to comment. Much appreciated.
It is high. Alternatively, it can be sung an octave lower and using a capo where it's most comfortable. But you're right...it's high. Thanks for watching.
Yep - can certainly be done and I appreciate the suggestion. What I've found is that using a capo often allows for some voicings that transposing doesn't, depending on the song. And for this song in particular, learning it in the original key of B is a bit harder than playing it in A w/ a capo on the 2nd fret, especially for a solo singer guitarist. I am not opposed to using a tool if it helps to get a job done more efficiently. Thanks so much for watching and for commenting - much appreciated.
@@uspsdaveable, thanks for your comment. To me, it's a tool I can use to accomplish an objective. Sometimes you need it...sometimes not. I appreciate your point. Take care.
@@barryvillaverde8631 I love Chicago, ELO, YES, WHO... you could say symphonic rock. The music of my youth. I play guitar and in recent years I have performed several times in Germany where my wife's brother Jimmy Krešić - musician and composer, arranger etc. from Augsburg, (I am from Bosnia) played with the M.Sinner orchestra under the name Rock meet classic (it is on TH-cam). Guests so far have been, for example: Alice Cooper, Eric, Basilian, Felder, Rossi, Kim Wilde, Lukatter, Gillan... I think I will suggest that he insert some hits of the Chicago group. You did a great job with this tutorial, thank you and I greet you.
I’ve always wanted to learn this song. Thank you for teaching it so well. Such a gifted teacher.

Peanut M&M's are bomb
You got that right! Thanks for swinging by.
thank you very much for this, it's still too high for me, might loosen the strings half or a whole step down. lol.
Thanks - maybe stand on a chair to hit those notes😂...just joking. Thanks for watching.

Try breathing helium. You will hit those notes, but you will sound funny.
It's a great sing nonetheless.

I'd try it on a 12-string, tuned down a whole step. Probably still too high.

Nothing wrong with using a capo , many artists use one on hundreds of songs….

@@uspsdaveableyup exactly. Especially since Peter Cetera literally uses a capo when playing this song in 1977.
