Great tune!! Thanks from Spain!!
Thanks a bunch and thanks for sharing from Spain - very cool.
@ Thank you! I’m sure that Villaverde (green city) family name it’s in some way related with Spain!! Hahaha!! Good luck!!
Sometimes singing with a raspy voice sounds pretty cool. Very nice lesson ‼️👍
I appreciate you seeing a silver lining - thanks. Also, thanks for watching and commenting.
Excellent lesson. Thx
Thanks so much for watching and your nice comment. More to come.
I'm from the pre Utube era and have been murdreing this beautiful song for too many years. 72 and excited about learning about playing this the propper way . Thank you and compliments on excellent teaching.

Conheci seu canal a poucos dias!! Muito bom!! Uma sugestão: se for possível disponibilizar material de apoio das lições, tipo acordes, tablatura etc... Tanks
Thanks for swinging by, watching, and your nice comment/suggestion. I do provide pdfs sheets when I think it helps...otherwise, I generally put all my chords, etc. within the video. Hope that helps. Thanks, again.
Top demais!!!!
Thanks for watching - much appreciated.
Great demo, despite the bad singing due too cold. Ha ha. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much for swinging by and commenting. I appreciate it.
Another masterclass- thank you, Sir.
Thank you, my friend.
I really enjoy what you do, and jt has always been in the top ten as far as finger picking and just insane musical talent, but I noticed on the outro from i thought to one more time again it gets kinda jumbled and just doesn't fit almost like there is too much going on or maybe something missing, maybe it's just me.
Jim, you have a good ear. When I listen to the album version, the chords I play sound correct. However, you also have the piano and bass and they are doing their thing so it's tough to hear, I agree (in other words, the combo suggests something else). Probably, to make it where the listener is most comfortable, consider the Em7 to A variation I gave at the very end. Just a thought. Thanks so much for your comment - much appreciated.
@barryvillaverde8631 thank you for your response. I heard you do diamond's and rust great work. Thanks again and continued success!
@, thank you. Take care and more to come.
Another late night and I am going to work on this Thank you 🙏
I appreciate you watching and commenting. Take care - I wish you the best on your playing.
Awesome you did it!
Thank you.
You are an amazingly detailed player/teacher Barry. Thank God for TH-cam or I would not ever have had the opportunity to “sit at your feet” and learn at my elder age. Thank you mate, keep on keeping on brother👍🏻😎
Thanks so much for your very kind comment. I'm glad you found the tutorial helpful. More to come - thanks, again.
Caught up with the last few lessons! Always fun to see the variations you come up with. Hope your cold is gone by now. You must have sent to me over the net -LOLs.
I'm sorry to hear you caught the cold. I hope it's not the same as mine as my cough hasn't gone though there has been some progress. Hope you get well, asap.
Thank you! Another great lesson. Well done! By the way, I have some of the same books on your shelf. Particularly the grammars … 👍
Thanks for very nice comment. Very cool on the grammars. Seems like we have more than one thing in common.
I learned this one, and it took me a while.. you do an amazing job teaching it.. I’m a new subscriber, and I look forward to checking out all of your videos.. I’ve been fortunate enough to see JT a couple of times, the last time with Carole King.. I must add, I’ve already picked up a couple of things you do, that really makes this tune sweeter, that’s why I watch videos.. never stop learning..😉… thanks so much.
Thanks so much for subscribing. I truly appreciate it. I also so appreciate it when I hear comments such as yours - makes my day. You're my kind of player...always learning. Well done.
Great lesson Barry 👍🏼
Thanks so much for watching and the very nice comment. More to come.
I’ve always wanted to learn this song. Thank you for teaching it so well. Such a gifted teacher.
Thanks so much for your very nice comment and for watching the video. I'm gald you found it helpful.
Thank you, this is very nice. Is there a way to listen you playing the whole song?
Thank you for watching and commenting - much appreciated. Perhaps in the future. Thanks for the suggestion.
Amazing !❤ thank you
Thanks so much for watching and commenting - much appreciated.
Though I've been playing by ear for more than 50 years, sometimes chords or notes don't always commit to memory perfectly. Thank you for taking the time and filling in the blanks. This has to be one of his all time greatest songs.
So glad you found it helpful. Thanks for watching and commenting - much appreciated.
@@barryvillaverde8631 Indeed, most helpful. Your uploads are quite appreciated.
You are God’s gift man!! Thank you for this.
So glad you found it helpful. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate it.
Got any easier Chicago songs LOL oh lawd
More to come in 2025. Thanks for checking out the video - I appreciate it.
Wow! Great video! Thank you for sharing this with us! Much appreciated
So glad you found it helpful. Thanks for watching and commenting - much appreciated.
The way you break it down to its basic structure makes it so much easier to grasp! After watching this video only once I feel almost able to remember the whole tab!
Thank you so much for your kind comment. So glad you checked it out and found it helpful. More tutorials to come.
Nice iteration - funny how these things escape us as we navigate our private little wars and then when we hear it again it immediately attaches us to the time we first heard it. I admit, since it was in a key that won't put me in the emergency room, I reached for my 000-28 and played along with you! Thanks
The power of a song, right! Cool comment - much appreciated. Thanks for swinging by.
From Brazil 🇧🇷 🇧🇷 🇧🇷, great lesson, master.
Thank you very much.
One of the all time most beautiful songs… I have something to work on now. Excellent job!
Great. Thanks so much for swinging by.
Very good, exelent.
Thanks so much.
Thanks Bro I love it ❤
Thank you for swinging by. I checked out some of your videos - you're a very good player. Great job.
Man, I wish your voice wasn't messed up. Your singing sounds great, even hoarse.
Wow, such a nice complement - thank you very much. Unfortunately, the illness continues. No worries, though. Thanks so much for watching and for taking the time to comment. Much appreciated.
Excellent tutorial Barry. Always one of my favourite songs. My real problem is I get the intro mixed up with Carol King's It's Gonna Take Some Time. Thanks for the lesson.
Thank you. You have a really good ear as they both use the same chords to start (maj and maj7sus2 - at least as I'm hearing it) before Carole changes. Well done. I may need to add that tune to my list of songs to create tutorials for. Thanks.
@ Hi again Barry. I’ve only just found your Chanel and I really like your calm presentation. I’m probably too old for people shouting at me.😂 I’ll be looking at your England Dan tutorials when I get a chance. I’ve always been a huge fan of theirs and have about six of their albums. Thanks again for your time Barry.
@@colinbermingham9688, thank you, Sir. Hopefully, my tutorials will be of some help. Take care and more to come.
Peanut M&M's are bomb
You got that right! Thanks for swinging by.
Beautiful! Very inspirational.
Thanks a bunch - very cool tune and version from Neil Sedaka. Thanks for commenting.
That GS Mini looks Beautiful, but does look to be a bit small and narrow. Love that Koa look.
Thanks. It is small...one of the reasons I like it, to be honest. My favorite guitar.
How can 5years go by and 0 comments? 🤦♂️That was Fantastic, I wish I could sing like that. Well it’s January 7th 2025 @ 12:20 am here in Chicago it’s late, good night 😴
Thanks so much for your very kind comment - much appreciated. My boys are very talented. I tried to do "Return to Pooh Corner" with them that day but when I got to the 3rd verse to sing it, I broke down and couldn't sing it - too emotional. So, we opted for the orignal "House at Pooh Corner."
You’re all very talented. The chords that were used in the 70’s were so different and complex, I can’t figure out how you know these shapes. Well done. 👍
@@timothy5974, thank you. I have much to learn on chords...still learning. Back then, if you played in a band, you had to figure it out to make it sound right. My ears played the largest role in getting it right...i.e. moving fingers until the sound was right, even if I didn't know the chord name. Use your ears...it'll pay dividends. Thanks, again.
When my Daughter was young, I tried to learn this and it was a big fail. She is 28 now 😢. New subscriber now. 🙏
Hang in there - you can get it. Thanks for swinging by, sharing, and subscribing. Much appreciated.
The song is very beautiful. It's very enjoyable to watch and listen to. It's great.
I prefer this version from Neil Sedaka over the faster version - cool tune. Thanks for swinging by and sharing.
Would you mind me asking what series your Taylor is? 300? 400? What a gorgeous sound! It’s no surprise why it’s been my dream guitar for forever. I’ve got a Breedlove Focus and a 1980 Alvarez Yairi but would give them both up for whatever series Taylor you’re playing. Just exquisite! Your beautiful playing doesn’t hurt, either. (smile) Thank you for a great instruction.
It's a Taylor GS-Mini eKoa...thanks for asking. Those guitars you have are nice...hang on to them. Every once in a while, Taylor has a sale involving the GS-Mini series. You might try one at a guitar shop to see if you like them and if you do, then keep an eye out for the sale. Just a thought. Thanks so much for swinging by and for sharing. I appreciate it.
@ Stunning tone. Thank you so much for sharing, Barry.
@@fifteenthfret , thank you. Take care.
Great ❤song
I'm with you on that. Thanks for swinging by.
My issue is that I have small 66 year old hands and can't stretch far and can only bar about 3 strings. I could do so many songs if they didn't have to bar. Maybe there's a guitar for small hands but that doesn't sound like a small guitar.
You might check your local guitar store and see if they have a mini-strat and if so, give it a try. It's electric but that might be a solution. With an amp, it can sound just fine. Anyway, just a suggestion. I truly hope you find a solution. Alternatively, consider the ukulele as an option. They're awesome. Thanks for watching and sharing.
Barry, is there anyway to purchase this lesson so I can play it back without dealing with TH-cam ads through you? Didn’t see a website or Patreon but you are a great teacher.
Tom, no need to purchase. I'm guessing you can download it with a tool like 4k video downloader or something similar. I wish you the best. Please let me know if I can help, further.
You’re sounding super! I aspire to be playing this groove. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, Tom.
When dear show this song. I was very young ..great song.
I'm with you...pretty cool song. Thanks for watching.
Fantastic demo of on of my all time favourites. Happy New Year from Canada Barry. ❤
Thank you - yeah, such a cool tune and fun to play.
I saw James at Massey Hall cover many from this album including this beautiful song. Incredible how you isolated the acoustic picking style. Outstanding Barry. Thanks so much!
Thanks so much for watching and for your comment. JT is the man.
Thank you for doing this. I really much prefer the original by Todd Rundgren. I just think that’s the way it should sound, but thank you for putting this out. It was a good mental exercise to transcribe it into the key of a minor. I really appreciate your help. It’s been driving me nuts for a year now and I think I have it and thank you for making me use my brain a little bit. Good video.
Thanks so much for sharing and well done on transposing the song for you. I'm glad I was of some help. Thanks, also, for watching and commenting. Much appreciated.
