    I did not see her being "Mean" to him. I noticed she was being firm with him. If she had taken a softer tone, the pup may have misinterpreted for being a playful tone and not sat still for her.

    Beautiful trim & well behaved puppy. I do wish groomers would not turn their backs on a dog while they get tools out without keeping a hand on them. Only takes a second & you have a strangled puppy rather than an untangled one. Safety always.

      She is using sharp tools and wants the dogs be safe. So a correction once in a while is some time needed. We need to get the dogs groomed safely so they need to learn. Consistent but gentle.

    What brand and type of shears did Chris use for this trim. I have bought several types and im trying to figure out which ones I can use in my shop every day that are sturdy, microserated and stay sharp longer. I've bought shears from. $50 -$300 and they just seem to dull to quickly, i maintain them daily so would love any suggestions.

    I have a Teddy Bear and viewing these videos kind of learning to do this myself type thing. Unfortunately I picked up some Walmart clippers lol and they look nothing like in this video. I haven't done anything, but wondering if you have a how to site. I also wanted to know if you could list the items I would need. My dogs name is Sniper and he is 2 years old January 17th, 2017. He currently goes to the groomers but I really would like to do this myself instead of traveling 36 miles there and another 36 back home for his haircut. Suggestions of books more videos?

      Mrs.Toy Williams
      I am from London UK, bought dog special clippers for my bichon costing me £50, sound expensive but worth it. watch couple of videos for a week and that's it. I bought slicker brush, Dog hair shampoo, conditioner spray, spare towels, bath anti slip cheap mat to avoid scratches, scissors and hair dryer from home. my bichon had a lovely cut, I not only saved money but feeling good in myself too.

      Mrs.Toy Williams Wal-Mart clippers are not great, but as long as you can change the blade you'll be fine. I would use a professional blade. Also use metal combs instead of plastic I find better. Amazon or pet edge has some good choices in Oster.

    The dog did such a good job for being nervous about his first haircut. However, I would never allow her to groom my dog. People view their dogs as part of their family and I think they wouldn't be pleased at seeing the groomer lift the dog by pulling him up by the tail. She did that more than once. In my OPINION, that is cruel. I can tell she seems to have lots of experience but some times when a person tend to get sure if themselves but loose the compassion.

    • @JMadden15
      @JMadden15 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would assume her demeanor is not only for the instructional video but also serves to keep the dog calm and still. If she was using a baby voice and loving on him even a little he might think it’s playtime. If he thinks she’s playing he could get very hurt by becoming hyper or even just slightly more active. Also, I don’t see this as a job you just fall into just to pay the bills. She’s obviously accomplished in her field and it stands to reason that if this is her chosen career and she has excelled at it that she probably loves animals or at least likes them.
      Totally unrelated but why are people so ready or even eager to be offended or to catch someone others in some kind of social faux pas (words, actions, person beliefs etc) and make it their mission to shame people then educate them on the “right” way of doing things which is usually their way. I think she did a wonderful job and conducted herself professionally. The world needs more nice people who don’t make judgments about others they don’t know based on a few minutes of video on TH-cam etc. and a few less Negative Nellies. Wouldn’t it be great if being a logical/critical thinker and a social media justice warrior weren’t mutually exclusive. Oh well, I guess until we can figure this out we should stick to if ‘you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all’ rule. Huh, turns out that wasn’t unrelated to my first comment at all. And I know I’m being hypocritical by posting this but come on, that’s was a seriously lame passive aggressive comment. Good day to you.

    Excuse me! Do you hear the dog speaking. You are a bit sadistic. The dog has to be coated with shaving cream / pre- ointment before it is shaved. I can hear the dog does not like how you are handling it. Imagine if you were so closely shorn, would you not want to be more gentle with your own skin, and pre lubricated or your own skin would be very itchy.

      She did awesome... handling the dog, cutting and explaining the entire haircut if you think she was being mean or rude i really cant understand how you handle a dog that is not really yours. We are groomers not dog whispers we don't have magic wands i rather speak with a tone than let the dog move around and cut him with the sharp items that we use to making look nice. I hate people that don't appreciate our job and make stupid comments.

      Ginny Homonai People who say things like this obviously aren't groomers and don't know or understand what it takes to be a good groomer. She handled the dog like a professional groomer is suppose to. You can't sweet talk the dog and be overly affectionate or it will never behave and do what you want it to. You must be a little bit stern to get the dog to behave and get the job done in a timely manner.

    • @beppard4208
      @beppard4208 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ginny Homonai OMG. get a life or stop fishing...not sure what your angle is but grooming/learning how to groom is NOT it. Im almost positive that IF you have a puppy/dog it has no manners and is not trained in even the few puppy etiquette that every dog needs to know. YOU need to be the leader of you pack or you are in for a BIG SURPRISE and are one of the main reasons the SPCA/animal society is in business!! Once a dog is psychologically scarred because people like you have the attitue "awe isn't that such a cute little puppy, how dare that woman talk to/treat that puppy like that!! He needs to be treated gently... NO, ITS A DOG AND HE NEEDS TO BE TREATED LIKE A DOG!! TO LEARN HIS PLACE IN THE PACK, TO KNOW WHATS EXPECTED OF HIM. At least keep him out of the shelters that way!
