For those that need a good home defense weapon on the cheap side, ATA Arms Etro security 12ga, you get a tactical shotgun without the the price tag. They run around $300 new.
For home defense, a Kel-tec KS7 is perfect. Short, light, and holds ten mini shells. I had a KSG, and I found it to be harder to use as it's heavy, you had to be very aggressive when pumping the shells into the chamber, and harder to load. The KS7 is easier to pump and easier to load.
as written elsewhere, the KS7, like any other shotgun with a 3" receiver, will flip minishells. I had a KSG, and it flipped minis...not a lot, but did do it. I have racked a 7 exactly once, and it flippped the mini. It's not a reflection on the shotgun, just a reality of geometry. If a shell (any shell), can bounce around during the feeding process, the risk of FTF goes up. This is made worse when you are jerking the gun, racking in odd positions, etc. A 2.75" shell is used in a 3" receiver. A magnum shell in 3.5"(?). A minishell should be used in a receiver that is about 1.6" long.
The 590A1 was not mentioned, but should have been. It is the best and most reliable defensive/military grade shoitgun on the market. That's why the US military still uses it to this day. If you really want to get slick, replace the stock with a raptor grip, add straps to the front and rear, and add a heat shield to the barrel like the old ones have. They only removed them from newer ones because gun grabbing idiots decided they look to scary with it, despite the added functionality.
I got about half way through this informative video. But the mispronounced words and exaggerated accent make this a real chore to listen too. Take your chat bot elsewhere.
Anybody ever see an SRM 1216? 16 rounds of 12 gauge 3 inch, tubular magazines that you can change in about two seconds without having a giant magazine hanging from the bottom.
I always liked the 1216, but I like the tavor a little more. That extra mag for the 1216 was really expensive and very heavy to carry around. Do you own one? How do you like it?
I have one. Love the shotgun. Mag holds 16 2 3/4, or 12 3" shells. Mag isn't heavy, less than a box of shells. Mag costs $200.00, but oh well. I have 3.@@bradstrong3338
As a Proud Mossberg 590 Shockwave and Kel Tec KSG owner who lust after the Orgin 12 ( now banned in Illinois), I’m shocked that it isn’t somewhere on this list if not in the top 3 . 🤔
I prefer the semi auto. But theh are more expensives. The pompes are cheaper. Wven i was ylung i had a Benelli semi auto. 5 shots. But now in France. It's just 3 rounds allowed ..! A shame !! ^^
They completely left out the two best shotguns for home defense which is the Tac 13 and the Genesis 12 because of their short configurations and ability to run run most of not all 2 3/4 shells.
The best home defense shotgun is the one that YOUR family can use, too. For many of us, that means family that really can't/won't handle full power shells. As such, the best shotgun for the whole family is any of the regular Mossberg 500 types, particularly the Mav 88 (price point), with the OPSol Flex adapter, and minishells (imo, Federal Shorty in 4 buck). For under $600, you can get 300 minishells, an adapter, and the Mav 88. Any and all other shotguns, that allow a minishell (at about 1.6" long), to rattle around in a 3" long receiver, face the chance of flipping a mini. That includes the 590S, and the KSG shotguns. This "rattling around" is especially a problem when racking the gun in odd positions, while moving, and under duress. This animation demonstrates the difference. th-cam.com/video/kbD6Yh0Ou58/w-d-xo.html
Vepr molot 12 smokes them all , the only sbort coming , i need mutiple magazines. The major plus 25 rouund drum magzine . Molots aresuper reliable fm factory . Saigas need some work .
The SRM 1216 was introduced to the market significantly earlier than the Tavor TS12. The SRM 1216 was released in the early 2000s, while the Tavor TS12 was introduced in 2018. Where is the IWI innovation then? They simply copied the SRM 1216 system which, by the way, is better because the magazines can be bought, so the reloading process is reduced to just seconds, while reloading the TS12 takes longer to have the weapon fully loaded.
Remington 870 for cheapskates. Benelli M4 fir those who want quality and aren't afraid to spend 2k on a weapon. 2k is nothing considering the quality and reliability of the M4. Dont be cheap. Save up
Hi guys & girls can I ask a question please I'm from the UK where citizens do not have access to firearms for anything My question is what are the rules of engagement for using any gun if intruders break into your house or property ? Can you shoot them without any legal action from the authority's ?
Your AI robot had a brain meltdown at 14 and again at minutes in of this "steal material from other TH-camrs and pretend it is new and your own" video...
If you use any firearm against any person, for any reason, right or wrong, you are going to jail. Use any "tactical" weapon and the system will use that against you in court.
Where I live there are 5 troopers covering an area the size of Arkansas. Home defense shootings are common and arrests are rare. The police may take the firearm used until after the investigation but not always.
Excellent assortment of shotguns. Unfortunately your AI narrator does not speak decent English so it’s really hard to understand what it is describing.
I know you're jokin, my .45 1911, will suffice for a apartment, or maybe the Taurus Judge, or the AR15? M1 CARBINES are fun to shoot,30 round mags. What is wrong with his calling things with a strange pronouncement of words like pickatinny rails. Maybe get a Abrams tank to answer the door.
There is a definite need for a commentator who can pronounce words correctly. His lack of ability to pronounce words correctly is such a distraction to me that I sometimes cease watching a video.
You must be a troll or bot with a ridiculous commitment like this. Home invasions are 2 or more people. Are you even aware what's happening in the world 😔
Good info but do you not have a human capable of narrating your videos???? I hung in there and managed to make it all the way through but the poor computer generated AI narration had me tempted to head for the exit before the video was done.
That first two-barrel shotgun (the DP-12) is a less than ideal firearm; a shooter has to KNOW he has two shots before racking the slide or he'll shot and rack the slide not realizing he just ejected a live shell, or else he will fire a shell, fire a second, and then try to fire a third not realizing he's dealing with a design issue and not a gun failure in an encounter. Fail. Let me add that the vid should have been labeled Top 10 Expensive TACTICAL Shotguns, rather than Home Defense shotguns. It's possible that the Robot Voice lives in a desolate compound and is in fear of government agencies coming for him through the woods and NEEDS expensive or sci-fi guns, but a simple 18-1/2" pump like the Maverick 88 is absolutely fine.
Genesis Arms 'Gen-12' enters the conversation. Genesis walks straight up to Benelli and starts peeing on its feet. Says move over, new bad-boy in town bee-itch! Watch the cold weather video where most of these shotguns including the Benelli got cold, failed and the Genesis kept going. Only problem w/ the Gen-12 is price... But you get what you pay for.
Them: which of these shotguns is your favorite?
Me: yes.

Is it informative though? I don't trust this at all.
Maverick 88 $150
Maverick 88 $150
I have the Mav 88 and the keltec ksg. My Mav 88 is my go to. The ksg is over rated and over priced. Should have bought 4 more 88's instead.
Maverick 88 is a good shotgun.
I just got a 8 shot Maverick 88 from Palmetto last week for about $200

The M4 is peak for it's type.
Genesis Arms 12 is better than any shotgun on this list, and they proved it in testing.
I use the Saiga 12ga. Auto shotgun w/30rnd drum
Can't belive the Origin 12 didn't make this list

Great display indeed. How may I reach out to you. Thank you
As awesome as this video was I also have to mention my favorite, the JTS AR shotgun for $200 and you can buy a 20 round drum for $75 more.❤😊
I've found that balancing price and quality is key, so this analysis is incredibly helpful.
LOL not a single price was discussed
There is no substitute for quality.
Shit is still just shit, regardless of how you look at it.
Bottom line, you get what you pay for.

I have the DP 12 and it is the bee's knee's!!! I don't think it was mentioned but the butt has a spring in it to absorb recoil.
Very good information thanks 🔥🔥🔥👍❤️
The AI experimented with some kind of accent, halfway through the video, when talking about the Tavor.
Can someone build shotgun with less damage to your shoulders ? Air springs?
@chuckhighlight5544:
Maybe try a 20 gauge? Don't think Air Springs are high on any manufacturers list, heh heh!!!😊
TS12 is that dude!
What is the best 20 gauge semi auto
Hooked on phonics seems to have really worked for AI ...
Black Ace's FD-12

Moozzle flip???
Either this AI has been drinking or its batteries are running low. Maybe both… “Moozle flip” 😂
Very good shotguns but where they left the FN SLP mark 1 I think it is superior to some of those lists and rivals the best Blessings.
They completely left out the two best shotguns for home defense which is the Tac 13 and the Genesis 12 because of their short configurations and ability to run run most of not all 2 3/4 shells.
Agreed, although I have the vr80 and TS12 , my next one is the GEN 12
That M4 could be made with part titanium and carbon fiber and maybe to have magazine too ? way not ? how many ammo then it will have ?
It is a tool for self defense. Choose the most effective tool.

A.I. autogen voice automatically gets a thumbs down.
Yup I hate it
Yeah the DP12 is what John wick used on the SUVs when he was going after the dude that killed his son father
Even after all this, there have been very very few reported cases of shotguns used in home defense!!!
To many fancy bullshit shotguns on this list. Remington 870 home defense, Mossberg 88, Benelli m4. Only list that matters.
