The "tote-torial" is only 1 floor long and is fully a tutorial of the mechanics. Each new character gets one of these, and they are quite good at explaining the new mechanics well enough to get started- and would easily fit at the start of a video before an actual run.

It doesn't tell you what "use directly" means, and that items that don't say that are only activated through the charge. The test and auto play functions aren't explained.
I'm pretty sure the enchanted forest boss used to have an ability where, upon getting hit, it would add 1 dodge to itself, stopping you from attacking it more than once a turn. Idk why they removed it.
@@kyloben4848 Think the easiest way to fix it would be upon taking X Damage or receiving X number of hits, enemy will change intention to "Add dodge" Then use the turtle code to make it apply the dodge instantly after the second hit (or X damage dealt)
Haste reduces by 1 at the end of turn while armor adds block at the start of the next turn. That is why his block went from 26 to 42 after his first kill(+16 block = 2 haste x 8 armor) because he had 6 armor pieces and 2 structures all adding block. I cringed so hard when he sold the one brick in the shop as it reduced the number of armor items from 8 to only 6 since structures need adjacent structures to function. The scaling block would have been even crazier if he kept both bricks.
Love the detail on the skin that the tenticles hold the map up for the eye to see. Same with how she doesn't need to turn around to go through her bag since the eye can already see back there
If you put decorations next to buildings that unlock stuff, the price in cheese, building material and treasure decreases. Like that sword you just bought could have costed half the price you got enough efficiency
The letter synergieses well with long weapons. It will add 6 damage to every weapon around them, everytime it stops and can be used multiple times. A 4 long weapon with 5 spaces next to it, can get 4x6=24 damage in one turn.
This game has been so addicting that I have 2 of the unlockable characters (bird and robot). Though, I still don't have the mushroom research building. Also, I had a lot of fun doing a couple pacifist runs with the bird.
@poct13 yeah, bird character has instruments that apply charm. When charm is higher than the enemy hp, they switch over to your side and fight for you. When there's no enemy's they all just run away and you don't have to do any damage
Haste works on all sources of block. Which makes it especially good on things with multiple individual items giving block. It is amazing on most builds.
placing honey or any other hazard that anchors items is very good with the meditation idol or the idol fragment as it keeps the idol stuck there even though it’s not allowed to
something that took me way too long to realize: when you reorganize your backpack you can leave all hazards outside of it without taking any damage. even if you're drowning in hazard you are always at most 3 energy away from clearing them all!

Haven't watched the entire video yet, but just to mention, the letter stacks damage every turn, so if you use it 3 times in a turn, and it is adjacent to a weapon for those 3 times, the adjacent weapon deals 18 extra damage Also, it's taking Tyler a minute to see that when you take a cursed item, that's the item that sticks with you.
So one thing about tote that isn't explained at all is how to remove carvings. In order to remove carvings visit the special shop during her runs, and then click the carving tab (bottom left corner) and then right click the carving you want to remove, each removal costs 5 gold and every next removal costs 5 more for that shop. Good luck on the one of the hardest characters!
Bought this game because of this series and I gotta say, it's really freaking good! Played almost 4h everyday since I bought it and I'm still super invested.
I always grab ice cream relic if I can because you can make so many broken energy builds with it. Imagine having ten energy turn two by using a fish that only heals you and it only grows from there.
Note for the runs recorded after this aired, If you place a fishing shack on the inside curve across the water from the bank it's one of the few places that can give over 300% effeciency
Imagine the frog asking for a fight, and so you oblidge and pull out your legendary axe and beat them with it over and over. . . and they just kinda stand there and take it before falling over. for science...
does tyler not realised that you always get the same curse? if you didnt pick up a cursed axe, that axe will keep appearing, it will not switch to any other curse, so ypu cant just "wait for a smaller curse"

That was a bug. It was supposed to make it so it dodged every other hit. I think they removed it because of the bug

Haste affects all instances of armor gain, this includes things like the guardian ring and structures.
Haste is easily the most powerful buff. In any structure/armor build, one decent haste item/forge will scale you into the endgame
