“I’d rather be a pig than a fascist.” This is a very powerful quote from an amazing movie. Although i do wish we got that porco rosso sequel that was cancelled.
Yeah, Porco is my fav, I too wish it got that sequel. Though I hope one day, perhaps someone will get Ghibli's blessing to make it. There's got to be a good chunk of material, Miyazaki made to use for reference.
This movie was released in 1992 when I was 2 years old. I love all Ghibil animes and this is my most favorite. I adore the joy in the sky and the adult vibe that wafts from the beginning to the end.❤🎉
Ironically, a lot of the major cast was American. All, that is, except for the one voice actor who was *voicing* an American: Cary Elwes, an Englishman, as Donald Curtis. Elwes was so good at an American accent, nobody could tell he wasn't really an American upon first listening. I know when *I* first saw _Porco Rosso_ as a kid, I couldn't tell he was British. Even his *other* Studio Ghibli Role, the voice of the Baron in _The Cat Returns_ (also a childhood classic of mine), didn't convince me. It took research later in life.
@@daviddavidson6289 Miyazaki will never allow AI in his work, plus JP company tend to retire the character if the voice actor passed as an act of respect You may rest your case now
@@annoying_HK_guy Nah, just wait a few years after that prissy old dude dies, japan'll chill out after a few years and start using AI for a shitload of things. I mean, AI's mostly going to do all the sweatshop work anyway, and a lot of modern VAs suck -balls-, at least in the west anyway. This film in my opinion is Ghibli’s most underrated work, the film is just so amazing!
Yeah, forgot 'bout the underration

“Sorry babe gotta fly”
Might be Ghibli's best film. The other major contender is Takahata's Tale of the Princess Kaguya. Definitely my favorite Miyazaki.
My soul agree with your opinion at all
I’m definitely going to see this, I’ll be wearing my Porco Rosso shirt to this masterpiece.
My favorite studio Ghibli movie by far

I hope studio they make this movie but about car racing.
Closest we've got in some epic car chases in the Castle of Cagliostro.
A Pig's gotta fly❤❤❤
A TH-cam short led me here 😮
Can someone tell me the background music name? Been looking for it for a while, and can't exactly pinpoint it
ラストの曲なら「Porco e Bella」かな?
0:49 to 1:17 is Fio-Seventeen, the later part already said by the Japanese commenter above
Casablanca movie vibes
1930 : I'd rather be a pig than a fascist.
2023 : I'd rather be a pig than a human .
I guess that could be just a quick example that "we don't think it's cool in the stories" even out of the story
Honestly, I don't wanna see any "sister"s here b' go ahead help yourselves
Heh, "acting pig headed".
I've been enjoying watching these Studio Ghibli movies in theaters.
So sad no screenings for 2024
When pigs fly mean literally

I’ve seen Kiki, Nausicaa, Laputa, and Mononoke but not sure I need the big screen for this one or The Wind Rises. I’ll watch them at home on Max.
Bro i saw it on the big screen, trust me, it was amazing. The flying scenes had me tearing up, idk what it was but it was so beautiful

それから、ハクの龍の姿の特徴が、顔が犬で胴体がヘビで前足と後ろ足が鳥なのが、素敵ですな。。
I just torrented this film not long ago, it was pretty great, make the fucking sequel already god damnit.
True, through Porco JP VA sadly passed away in 2021
So it have a very slim chance to happen......
@@annoying_HK_guy Shit. Going to have to train the AI's to emulate him 1:1, should take at least 2 years.
