I giggled a bit when I watched Pawpaw’s video this morning. As he talked about things going forward, he mentioned that adding a berm or two to his pastures might not be a bad idea. 😂😂😂
I thought he needs to dig out the low area between the front and back pasture and use that to make a berm. That way he's got a bigger hole for water to go and the hill for the animals. I think there needs to be a second floor in the little s barn too. Goats could climb up and sit there out of the water.
The cows were on dryer ground. They decided to go back to the water after the water was going down. That's cows for you. But at least they were where it was safe. Still kind of heart wrenching though.
Everyone needs to start taking Jami seriously. She is very smart and can see the whole picture. Also, Bri is a go getter! That girl can and will do anything she has to do

I saw ppl on the hill complaining about the rains and how the pastures were flooding….i was thinking Lester and Jami already offered to take your animals….everyone was panicking the last 24 hours but Lester and Jami offered 4 or 5 days in advance….
I agree also it could have been a little bit sooner that they started moving animals but to be fair I also remember that the first news thing that came out that told people what the flood area would be they were sure they would be okay through it and then I remember watching a video where like the day before they put out new reports saying no now they are not going to be okay and the flood is going to be worse than they expected so I don't think that they anticipated it to be that bad up until the last 24 hours before it came when new reports came out telling people that everything would be flooded

Jami, I understand. I married into a very large "hard headed" family. I loved my mother in law and we were very close. She asked me to promise to take care of her medical/death/funeral decisions which was different than what the family was used to. It all came too quickly. Now, I promised so I had to stand up and keep my word. She carried a card in her purse that alluded to her wishes. As soon as I opened my mouth all heck went loose. They are a farm family and I am the city girl. My husband was aware of her wishes so he did not allow me to be "attacked." This family Loved their mother so when they realized that it was not my wishes, but hers, they all came together during. The most difficult time of their life and they backed down to do what she wanted. So I understand trying to get stubborn people to do something they are not agreeing with. It turns your stomach. So, hats off to you for standing your ground.
Paw Paw has already learned he said in his video that he is going to set up Kim's front yard which stayed the driest. If he is not willing to trailer up and move his animals then fine he just figured out a solution. Bravo he learned and he will act on it. I'm so proud of everyone and the action and help they did! You are all amazing.
Jami, I do believe that your connection to Lester was definitely a God thing! You bring a very different perspective to this family as a result of the work you do. You look forward and work to divert situations that could problematic. Because of this, Lester was able to get ahead of things……and what a blessing this is!

Lester and Jamie. 1992 was the 1000 year river flood. In Georgia. The Flint River crested 48 feet over the flood level and what we learned is to never build a house closer than 15 miles from the river. So hard when you want to live close to a river to fish and boat etc. You did so good getting all the animals to safety

I lived on a river and took a photograph of the side of building and marked flood heights for as many past floods as I could from past photos and flood data with altitude from sea level figured out. Because I did this right before a flood and gave the diagram to neighbors and the city was able to better plan for floods and people who didn't have flood insurance, got it. What Jamie is talking about extremely helpful.

I think that if the barndominium was stripped down to the rafters you could build a loft in it for some storage of items that you can't easily replace like photos, keepsakes, etc. If you kept the kitchen, even a partial kitchen at that, and the bathroom, it could be used as a space for special occasions, family meetings, etc. that could be furnished with folding tables and chairs. That way if it gets flooded out again, things are easily movable.

I saw the emotion in your dads' eyes when he and GiGi were at Kim's., he shrugged it off, but he was feeling emotional and Thank goodness he was able to be safe at her house. He was so very worried about his Ivan. Man broke my heart. Moo and Oreo were just fine and at least they are tall enough. You know Dans trailer full of babies was the best site., made me chuckle. What a combination of animals., safe and sound. Sometimes you have to be mean to be kind. I was actually telling the screen pop him in the butt to make him move if necessary. I'm guessing something like that was necessary. But no matter what Lester & the other's would never truly hurt them. Just do whatever is necessary to save their lives. It was a smart move to not record it though. There's way too many who would judge & condemn saving them that way.

I was thinking similar thoughts. I was thinking a nice medical room with room for any sick animals & a flooring that's easy clean. They should still have bath/shower available. So it could be used for bathing animals that need it or hosing off humans even if needed. I like adding the feed room into it too. Or at least some of the feed. Plus one day if Megan & LE do need a guest room they could do it over again.
This has been so wonderful in the face of danger to watch. I’m so thankful that all the animals are safe! All your updates were so appreciated too, whether day or night. I couldn’t stop praying for you all in the Morrow family and checking in on TH-cam and Facebook and all the channels throughout. Have you guys ever thought of building a storage building at ISS that is high up (high like the berm) to store furniture and stuff in case of more flooding? It could be for everyone on the hill to use. With the weather patterns getting worse (it seems like) it may come in handy. Just a thought.🤷🏾♀️

Jami and Lester I've said it before and I'll say it again is that I am so proud of you! For how you persevered in helping the people and animals through this disaster. Jami...don't let your guard down now. Know that there are storms coming for another round. Hopefully it won't be an historic flood event, but I would keep the animals through next week. Just watching the local news weather isn't good enough from my experience. You need more details daily. I depend on Mitch West Weather, a very caring and good Christian guy that calmly thoroughly gives us the US weather forecast every morning and most nights as well. Also the NWS/NOAA has a page just for river information and forecasts. Those African bees need to go bye bye...why would you keep those? gees...not healthy for the US bee community. Love you all very much. I kept up with many of your Morrow family members on their channels...it was frustrating at times I must admit. No disrespect, just is what it is. Jami life skill is to see bigger picture and organize. I have been a fan girl for a long time. Never can have too many bathrooms is my mantra. I think you are on to a good idea. Maybr even create high up storage in barn with a BATHROOM for possible future events.

Sometimes the horror from past experiences comes back and freezes you. Denial kicks in. It’s something you have to fight at the same time as grappling with wrong information, having to think quickly, move, and the ton of work you have to do to save property, livestock and person in a limited time. You all made it out, that’s the bottom line. Show grace to one another.

I think that if the barndominium was stripped down to the rafters you could build a loft in it for some storage of items that you can't easily replace like photos, keepsakes, etc. If you kept the kitchen, even a partial kitchen at that, and the bathroom, it could be used as a space for special occasions, family meetings, etc. that could be furnished with folding tables and chairs. That way if it gets flooded out again, things are easily movable.
You two were and are awesome helping your family by taking in their animals. ❤

I saw the emotion in your dads' eyes when he and GiGi were at Kim's., he shrugged it off, but he was feeling emotional and Thank goodness he was able to be safe at her house. He was so very worried about his Ivan. Man broke my heart. Moo and Oreo were just fine and at least they are tall enough.

Sometimes you have to be mean to be kind.
I was actually telling the screen pop him in the butt to make him move if necessary.
I'm guessing something like that was necessary.
But no matter what Lester & the other's would never truly hurt them.
Just do whatever is necessary to save their lives.
It was a smart move to not record it though. There's way too many who would judge & condemn saving them that way.
When I volunteered in Houma, Louisiana, after a hurricane and flooding, the people built their new homes up on tall stilts.

I was thinking similar thoughts.
I was thinking a nice medical room with room for any sick animals & a flooring that's easy clean.
They should still have bath/shower available. So it could be used for bathing animals that need it or hosing off humans even if needed.
I like adding the feed room into it too. Or at least some of the feed.
Plus one day if Megan & LE do need a guest room they could do it over again.
This has been so wonderful in the face of danger to watch. I’m so thankful that all the animals are safe! All your updates were so appreciated too, whether day or night. I couldn’t stop praying for you all in the Morrow family and checking in on TH-cam and Facebook and all the channels throughout. Jami and Lester I've said it before and I'll say it again is that I am so proud of you! For how you persevered in helping the people and animals through this disaster. Jami...don't let your guard down now. Know that there are storms coming for another round. Hopefully it won't be an historic flood event, but I would keep the animals through next week. Just watching the local news weather isn't good enough from my experience. You need more details daily. I depend on Mitch West Weather, a very caring and good Christian guy that calmly thoroughly gives us the US weather forecast every morning and most nights as well. Also the NWS/NOAA has a page just for river information and forecasts. Those African bees need to go bye bye...why would you keep those? gees...not healthy for the US bee community. Love you all very much. I kept up with many of your Morrow family members on their channels...it was frustrating at times I must admit. No disrespect, just is what it is. Jami you need to get you a spanky stick! lol! I do NOT like booty spanks ever. Ties to childhood trauma. Not going there. Blessings~
Jami life skill is to see bigger picture and organize. I have been a fan girl for a long time. Never can have too many bathrooms is my mantra. I think you are on to a good idea. Maybr even create high up storage in barn with a BATHROOM for possible future events.

Sometimes the horror from past experiences comes back and freezes you. Denial kicks in. It’s something you have to fight at the same time as grappling with wrong information, having to think quickly, move, and the ton of work you have to do to save property, livestock and person in a limited time. You all made it out, that’s the bottom line. Show grace to one another.
Jami and Lester, y’all are just so amazing, working through sheer exhaustion and doing what had to be done to keep ALL of the animals safe. Your persistence to keep going until everyone is moved to safety deserves all of the praise coming your way.
