I've stripped mine down ,took out the factory grease, and de bured the guts ,fitted a ss spring sleeve in the piston ,the nylon spring guide was a good fit so no need to make a new one and polished the piston but not to much ,applied molly to the right parts ,and fitted a new 6-24x50 Vector Hugo scope ,optic warehouse has a sale on and got it for just under half price ,popping to my Dads tomorrow to zero it in , I also gave the barrel a good clean ,just need to run it in now as it's only had 2 pellets through it lol ,it's lost the twang but still loud ,I also fitted 3 baffles for the barrel weight ,to see if that helps down range ,
Thanks for watching. They are a cheap set of sticks made by Nitehawk. I got them to see if I would actually get on with using sticks before spending a hell of a lot more money on some decent ones. The short answer is yes, I do like the support from the sticks and I will try and get round to a review of sorts when the weather is a little better
Nice Buddy😁 Love the 97. I only think the scope is a bit to dominant. Bad loading port acces, but you don't seem to be to have a problem with that, you load the pellet in very quick 😅 I have on the 97 i use for hunting an Airmax 4-12 and on my target 97 an Airmax Compact SF30 4-16. Cheers!
It is a little overkill even when on the range at 50m but for the price it was a bargain. A nice vintage looking scope would probably suit the lines and aesthetics better
I've just put a 6-24×50 Hugo on mine, and it goes 10mm past the front of my port ,and that's without the sun shade, l love to reach out and see what I am looking at ,ok you loose a but of field of view but you soon get use to it
I've got the 97 k with the synthetic thumb hole I find a 9 or 08 grain pellet about the best and get consistency on a 10 cent piece at 30 m should I expect any more. that's on a rest without my hand under the Fore grip. Your thoughts please im in aus and most of my hunting is with centre fires cheers for any tips . Ps using hawk air 3×9×40 thank you
Sounds about spot on, some rifles prefer to shoot a lighter pellet as it can cause less piston bounce compared to a heavier pellet. Downside with a lighter pellet is that it's affected by the wind a little more. The 3-9 mag range is good all rounder for the distance. I've got a few that go to 24 mag but rarely have it higher than 10 or 12
Rootin tootin shootin How long have you had the 97 ? Havnt had mine long was wondering how long you would expect springs / seals ect to last from factory before repair needed? Is yours factory specs?
Thanks for watching. Depending on quality of the seals and springs there should be over 10,000 shots from what I've heard. I suppose this will also be depending on how often it's used or what condition it was in the 1st place or how well maintained it was. This 97 is running a Vortek PG4 kit and has eliminated the twang and shoots very well

It could be some minor residual grease or lube burning off for a while. Hopefully it settles down after a handful of pellets.
What a superb gun, quality throughout. Good shooting, as well! ScottinUSA
Thanks
They say dont shoot when youre tired, but thats easier said than done in our busy lives.
Oh not tired sleepy, tired from running up and down the garden 😆
Nice camera shot. It looks like you're resting on the target 😀
Thanks 😂
Nice video, like your shooting stick, did you make it, would like to see more of the shooting stick if possible , cheers 👍

I bought my first Weihrauch a couple weeks ago. I had no idea that it would cause total addiction.
Yep it can be a slippery slope from 'just the one'...

That's a concrete paving slab
