I bought a Velocore almost 2 years ago, largely thanks to your videos about it. Because of your detailed reviews, I knew exactly what I was getting, and there have been no surprises or disappointments. (Well, except that a piece of the structure was bent on arrival and I had to wait for a replacement. And then after several months the flywheel starting producing a strange noise--but Bowflex was great about sending the replacement part and a tech to install it at no charge.) For me, the Velocore has been just right. I don't want to compete against anybody else. I don't want an instructor egging me on. I like to ride at my own pace using the "Explore the World" scenic videos while listening to podcasts--and this bike is great for that. I was horribly out of shape, a complete couch potato. This was my first investment at reclaiming some cardio ability, and it has served me really, really well. What's more, I do what is to me the most challenging workout I can manage, and it's still only about 1/3 of the machine's capability, so I know I'm never going to max out on it. So I'm one of those users you mention that are happy with it just as it is, not very interested in updates other than the gradual expansion of the library of the same kinds of videos. Even though it's not right for you, it is for me, and I thank you for steering me in the right direction.
Love it! Great to hear it has worked out so well! The price has really come down making this a great option for those who want to keep subscription low but have a really nice bike. Love to hear the bike is challenging you but you can tell him it has so much more potential. So glad to hear the video helped out and you ended up with the best option for you! Thanks Bob
@@Learnwithtravis Thank you. You, Travis, don't need any more details about my life, but for others considering a Velocore, here's some objective data about what it has done for me: This morning (September 10, 2023) I weighed 148 (height 5'7", BMI 23.2). I was variably in the low 160s in January 2022, when I started using the Velocore seriously. (I actually started in December 2021, but it was just fiddling around, getting a feel for the machine and the instructional video formats.) Back then, I was topping out at ~180 calories per ride. Now I'm routinely 360-380, and have done six that have hit or passed the 400-calorie mark. When I started, I could sustain my target heart rate (140 bpm) for only about 7 minutes; now I'm at 21 minutes and ready to notch it up to 22 this week. Finally, my need for recovery days from these rides is now virtually nil. Friday I completed 10 hard rides in 11 days, and didn't feel any worse the day after the tenth than I did the day after the first. When I started, I was sore for 2-3 days after. Not QUITE ready for the Tour de France, but really substantial improvement in every parameter. It's seeing this kind of obvious, measurable improvement that makes me conclude that this bike was a good decision for me in my situation. Of course, maybe any other comparable product would have worked as well; I'll never know. And I can't speak for how well it fits other people's needs. But I'm happy with it and the changes it has helped facilitate in my sense of health and wellness. And, again, Travis, it was largely because of your reviews--honestly describing both the good and bad of the Velocore and its competitors--that made the decision for me, and I'm really grateful for the work and care you put into them.
I bought a Velacore22 in 2/24. After 8 months I have Zero regrets. I picked it up for $1700, added the 5 year vsa and paid for JRNY 1year. It costs 1/4 than competing brands. The fit and finish is light years ahead of notdictrack and on par with Pelaton,
Just pulled the trigger on the velocore 16 - price was too good to pass up. It was $799 through Best Buy and I had two $100 reward certificates. Ended up being $650 with delivery. We will see, but as someone who has just had a lo-fi bike on a trainer set up, I’m hoping it does the job. Thanks for all the reviews!
I got a good deal on mine over a year ago and agree with you that the JRNY App is lagging but I still enjoy using it 3 to 4 times a week and this was a bargain compared to Peleton
LHI w is the free ride mode? That’s the biggest draw for me. Have they added more content to that? Also, does the leaning actually mean the bike in the video it does it kind off just guide you along? Does it have apple watch integration?
I just ordered the Velocore 22 for $1999. Didn't even know it existed. Was actually looking up a Peloton after seeing an ad on TV and damn near fell out of my chair when I saw the $3500 price tag. I think the Velocore is perfectly reasonably priced
Great info, thanks! Trying to make a decision on a high end bike. Super high quality build, outdoor rides with auto incline, decline, resistance. But man that lean mode is amazing! I was doing an outdoor TH-cam on my low end old bike tonight and I was leaning for fun on the curves but of course the bike was stationary. So many decisions! Thanks for the insight!

What I CAN'T find online, is what happens if you quit JRNY. What does the display show? I understand workout data isn't saved, but what exactly shows? Presumably resistance, distance, etc., for each ride?
Hello ScottD....have you found out what the display provides if a user cancels their JRNY subscription? Is the bike still useable as a standalone device...with a variety of workout profiles, for example? Thank you in advance!
great vid. I am lucky to have it in a room with a separate tv. I do not pay the subscription, and use the basic program which monitors time /pace/ calories. etc. the fact that it tilts is unmatched. I also mickey-moused a wider mtb bar atop the stock bars and that added some new positions and comfort. its a keeper for me!
I bought it when it was new during covid. Had so many issues cause of covid. Couldnt get anyone on the phone. But bowflex ended up sending me another bike and giving me 200. So cant complain about bowflex. But i hate jrny. I do mostly pelotón but use lean mode and make up my own workouts. I want leaderboard badly but am not willing to invest in a peloton and not had lean mode. I wish i could have both. So i dont regret my purchase, if that makes any sense. Because i would feel disappointment in the pelaton as well. Sometimes you just cant have it all.
I bought one on a month or two trial, returned it. It's main selling point, the lean, wasn't interesting or useful for me. It's also hideous and larger than others. Software kinda bugged me. I ended up with a stryde, which I love
I like it and I could use it I just can't see pain 2000 for a workout bicycle and then turn right around and have to pay a monthly membership. It would be different if they let you download videos and pay for the individual video. Like maybe 50 cents or a dollar Or even $2 for a video. But to pay $19 a month every month that seems a little extreme. I don't even have a problem with the $2000 bicycle price. It's the monthly membership I don't like. That's what I refused to buy one
I just wish they had live classes ! Bowflex has so much money that they could put trainers on the books to be a more interactive platform and compete with others . And this is why I’m thinking of getting rid of mine so I can do live classes and log and compete with others , rather than watching my tv and buying a separate peloton subscription .
I like using the actual bike but there are problems they need to fix if you want to use zwift. The locked monitor is annoying. Also the jrny app is horrible. 1. add the zwift app so i can display zwift on the bowflex screen instead of on my laptop. unluck the screen so we can add apps like zwift and youtube. 2. why does the manual workout stop at 1:39... i regularly bike for 4+ hours. 3. you cant do the jrny off bike videos... the monitor pauses when you stop pedaling. this is a poor design. please fix. 4. add watts to screen... why so i have to connect to another app to see my watts.
I bought one about a year ago. I rode it maybe 20 times. It hurts my ass so I changed seats for a more comfortable seat. Hopefully I’ll start riding again.
I just worked though Bowflex support. They were actually fantastic it work with. It is too late and my memory is gone but I can't remember the exact issues I was having. I think I covered it in a video or two.
Great video! I see the $999 price as well. But my question is around your comment of whether we like the content. How can we know that answer unless we purchase the device?
I generally include examples of the content (Studio vs scenic vs AI). Try watching My Velocore, Peloton, and NordicTrack videos and see if one seems to work more for you compared to the others.
Hello, just had a question. Will it still let you use the streaming services stand alone or do you have to keep the subscription to use Netflix, etc? Thank you in advance.
I wish I could answer but I don’t have that bike to test and don’t want to mislead you. My guess is you need the subscription but I could be wrong. Good luck!
Hello great video. I wanted to ask if you could stil use the bike even if you don't pay the monthly fee ? What dose the monthly fee gives you access to ?
Thank you. I don’t remember exactly what is and is not included but that included their JNRY platform which was the exercise content and streaming integration. I believe Bowflex recently went bankrupt though, so I would do some homework first.
There are a bunch of deals out now for $999 on the 22" version. Have they made any updates since your video? Do you think $999 is a good deal? Thanks for making such great content.
I sold it right after this video but that had not done too much for quite a while. That said, even if the price is good, I recommend making sure you like the content and exercise methods first. Because a "good deal" does not matter if you don't like it and do not use it. (I cover this in other videos) But, I do this this is a high quality bike and do enjoy the mixture of Bowflex content and streaming services you can use. It is also nice that the membership fee is much lower than other options. That all being said, I do think this is a very good value.
Thank you for this video. Ultimately, if I only had the stats (distance, calories burned, average speed), and the connected apps.. And not need the pay service, if be good. Lean sounds interesting, but only if it mimics actually outdoor leaning, like when I'm speeding up or going up a hill, then good, otherwise probably more gimmicky than I need. Are we able to watch Hulu, etc without a monthly subscription?
You would need a Hulu subscription to use Hulu. Based on what you said, I am going to guess this probably not a great match for you. Unfortunately, I don't there are a lot of other lean options out there.
@@Learnwithtravis I can always just keep the lean option off, so that's a minor thing. @@BlackDiamond-hf3ci I’ve had mine for 3 months now & I like it more than the peloton at the gym that I belong to. The only thing that I wish it had was the ability to install apps like TH-cam or Spectrum TV. Maybe that’s coming in the future but as far as the overall bike, I like it a lot.
I found one at a discount store in the box for $900 CAD ~ $690 USD brand new. At that price point would you recommend this bike? Or is the software disappointing enough to stay away from it?
It is all about finding the product that you will enjoy and keep using. That being said, I still like the Velocore very much and at that price I think it would be a great deal. I just wish they were pushing the innovation side harder to compete with Peloton and other top tier brands. But still a great product that has a much more affordable monthly subscription
I would consider buying one even at the price they're charging . But the reason I will not is because of the monthly Membership. If they could just let you download and pay for Just the video you want. I would be OK with that period but I don't Like a monthly membership. They can charge me 50 cents Or $1 or possibly than $2 per video. I don't have a problem with that but I don't like The membership. That will run people off
Travis, I'm considering selling my bike. It's hardly been used. Do you have any recommendations on how to get started in this process? Who to sell and whom NOT to sell to? This coulo be a great video by the way for you. (":
Good video idea, have not thought about that one! I used facebook marketplace which has worked rather well for me. The only problem is that it has become overrun with scammers lately so you need to be able to identify them. As long as you only do cash and in person sales, that pretty much eliminates them. Good luck!
Regardless of how good the price is, I would make sure you like the content and structure. But if you do, I think that is a great deal. It is a really nice bike, the subscription cost is lower than others, can stream, and lean. You get a lot for that price.
i juST canceled the 22 model i bought for 999 today. I cam upon the carol bike and i might be looking into that one. Any change you can review that one?
That one is not in the pipeline. I struggle with their marketing and saying you only need 5 minutes of exercise to match 45 from others. I think they are possibly misleading people and I struggle to get behind them. But, I could be wrong.
@@Learnwithtravis if they are possibly misleading people shouldn’t you see if that’s true for us who don’t have a platform? They give you 100 days to test it out. 😁. I don’t see many reviews on that machine. Guessing u don’t want to do it because u might not get enough views.
Do not buy a bowflex bike, the box was destroyed when i got it. They wouldnt let us send it back and said they would replace any broken parts. The bolts to put it together were missing and the still will not send me them. Its still just sitting in pieces. I wish i would have gotten ANY OTHER BIKE besides this hunk of crap made by crappy people.

However the bike is awesome, and if you get it discounted you can't go wrong.
Good point
I found one at a discount store in the box for $900 CAD ~ $690 USD brand new. At that price point would you recommend this bike? Or is the software disappointing enough to stay away from it?
It is all about finding the product that you will enjoy and keep using. That being said, I still like the Velocore very much and at that price I think it would be a great deal. I just wish they were pushing the innovation side harder to compete with Peloton and other top tier brands. But still a great product that has a much more affordable monthly subscription
Seems like Aviron is a product that adds new features all the time.
Very very much so!
That will run people off
2023 USA U OVERLOOKD THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR OV BOWFLEX BIKE THE SHAPE UR BODY GETZ IN WEN PEDDLING 🇺🇸⚡️⚡️🗽
Which one is better C6 vs Velcore at same price?
The question to ask is, do you want a built in experience or to use your own tablet so you completely control the content in from of you.
Good luck!
It’s 999 on best buy worth it ?
Regardless of how good the price is, I would make sure you like the content and structure. But if you do, I think that is a great deal. It is a really nice bike, the subscription cost is lower than others, can stream, and lean. You get a lot for that price.
Best Buy selling for $999. Is that a good deal?
I do think that is a pretty good deal
@@Learnwithtravis thanks for the reply! You got my subscription.
Well, I’d buy it if you selling.
Michigan?
@@Learnwithtravis I’m in phoenix.Sorry:(. (Too bad I didn’t see this a week ago I was in Detroit a week and a half ago)
Come on! Just a quick drive over… and up… 😉. Good luck finding one though!
Never had an issue with mine going on 2yrs
Awesome. I do think it is a well built bike.
i juST canceled the 22 model i bought for 999 today.
Yeah. It is a ton of work to make these videos so I have to choose wisely. I wish I could do everything but I just don’t have that kind of time. 😀
The monthly subscription is ridiculously priced at even $19.99.
Yeah, a lot better than most pricing but hopefully someday we have better prices options.
Just buy peloton subscription. It’s paid off!
