I’m coming from a bowfishing background with no sites to bow hunting with a compound this year. And this answers why I can’t stay consistent shooting tight groups like I want. I feel like my pep is too big for the sight that’s on the bow. Cause I find myself fighting my peep and staying centered cause I see daylight all the way around mine so I’m trying to center and chase the site. And I’m practicing a lot I’m shooting 100 plus times an afternoon everyday.
I glued 2 luminous dots in diameter to the pip for shooting in the dark. You need to light them with a flashlight first, then they will glow for at least half an hour. This allows you to align the pip in conditions when nothing is visible at all, only the sight ring and the pin.
@@lanewillhite I glue small pieces from the luminous ring from the old sight to the edge of the pip closest to the eye in diameter. But this point does not hold because the overloads are large when the pip stops, so I make grooves at 45 degrees with a file and glue them inside these cuts.
@@JJ79_ Sometimes you can see an animal and pip is not visible, for example, when snow or an animal is standing on the road. I specifically hunt on the edge of the road to see the beast from a tree against the background of the road otherwise it is not visible at all and then go home.
I have a spot Hogg fast Eddie xl wt a shrewd optum 35mm scope wt a shrewd rod for adjustments and shrewd 4 power lens. 19 thou pin. And it's in my bridge lock and I use a 1/4 peep. Works great.
Low light typically causes the peep to appear bigger. Bright light makes it appear smaller. So if you choose a peep on the larger side during normal light it will appear massively too large in low light.
It's 100% the opposite for me, in bright sun is when i need the larger peep and when it starts to get darker is when a smaller peep is a better fit, and when I hunt in the night using a torch fixed to the bow as a light source the peep that fit the sight perfect in the day time is way too big in the night, to solve the problem i use a peep where I can I can reduce the id of my peep.
Hey coach and archery peeps, I have some questions and some help. 1. I have been told that in target archery that the smaller the scope the better, (for example av31 is better than the axv 41) but when I look at the target archery competitions, it seems that they all shoot with huge diameter scope and lens. Please explain. 2. I personally shoot with an av31 scope @ 6x, I recently decided to try a 10x... big mistake. It was blurry, everything seemed wrong way and upside down. I don't know why that's happening. Any explanations? 3. As if thats not enough, I'm also experiencing peep twist at full draw.
Hey buddy, with the first question, it's personal preference, 2. you need a clarifier in your peep sight and finally go to your local bow shop and they will fix that twist

Can you explain this more? You put 2 sticky glowinthedark dots on the inside of your peep?
If you can't find your peep in the dark, I'm pretty sure you can't see the animal either.
