I don’t get how all these AJ-A2 s are BU defends vs UTG open. UTG has such a range advantage with his better Ax. Comes an A on the flop and UTG begins to „barrel“, what do you do then? At 20-40 BB.
For 3 bet bluffs, how do you ensure that you're hitting the right frequencies in-game? Not over 3 betting or under 3 betting for example, since they are a mix in theory.
Using RNG could help here, but you would need to spend time figuring out the mixing frequencies, which probably isn't the most efficient way to improve unless you have already mastered the basics. Generally I would say this mostly comes with experience and practice, along with tracking your 3-bet and 3-bet PF & Fold frequencies. For the BTN you want to be 3-betting 9-13% and 3-bet PF & Fold should be around 40-50% (keeping in mind sample size issues and database noise)
personally i think using the context of the situation is better.. if its an opponent who opens too wide/folds to 3b a lot, you can take the aggressive approach, if its a tight player folds.. or perhaps the opener on the table is the only good player at your table, and its more valuable to avoid playing more pots with them, take the more passive line, and vice versa if villain is a fish isolating them more often is better. i think this is better than rng imo. probably at the highest stakes/tables where everyone is very good then an rng is preferred tho.
@@elliott8174 For the most part, you will still have a 3-bet bluffing range, even against a tight opener. You dont want to bluff if your opponent isnt giving you folds, and you should expand your value range. If someone is over-folding, you want to increase your 3-bet bluffing frequency
Great video Jargo, keep them coming! Also love the FT reviews
jargo love this content. hopefully next series would be how to defend against 3 bet OOP :)
