Say what you might about Ferentz, but how many coaches do you hear quoting Einstein for perspective? (Even though this actually not an Einstein quote; rather the sociologist William Cameron.) Also, how many coaches do you know who were teachers of English literature at an elite east coast boarding school? And, somehow, despite occasional disappointments around program expectations, he consistently seems to pull off victories in hard-fought close games in November. His players are generally very loyal to him, and credit him with being a major influence in their journey to becoming a man. A lot like Lisa Bluder in that regard. To me, that's more important than wins.
Who needs audio on the right side anyway. Also, for the one channel that does work (left) could you lower the audio even more so it's completely inaudible? Thanks
They need a stronger O line more than anything. They got dominated up front all game. If it weren't for the 2 turnovers they probably would've lost. Give it up to the backups in the secondary to step up against the Nebraska's passing game.
@@mreffinbojanglz2977 A passing game would be better, as it would keep the opponents rom stacking the box against the run. The Iowa line is fine not the problem.
@@russjordan6039 having felton and prather at wr wouldn't hurt also. Its crazy Maryland had better Wide Receivers than Iowa and Penn State.KF needs to find a mobile qb in the portal and some wrs and some OL.
The usual approach. Let the other team outplay for most of the game..then with field position, special teams and turnovers get the W. It’s technically a win even though fans know who really outplayed who for the entire game. It’s a strategy that’s worked for many years and resulted in lots of wins so I don’t blame Ferentz for continuing to use the approach. Doesn’t quite seem “fair”, but its obviously worked for decades.
I dont think he coached them to "let" the team outplay them, genius. That is never any coaches game plan. What a ridiculous thing to say. "Ok, boys.... let them outplay you for most the game because thats what good coaches do! Lets go now! On THREE.. 1....2...3... Go TEAM!"
I watched the game and as a fan I know who won the game. Iowa won the game. Nebraska was playing against a 3rd string quarterback and could stack the box against the run, which is the only offence Iowa has. They were up by ten at half and did not score another point. Iowa won the game because they are a tough group who know how to win with the tools they have.
Lest time i checked defense and special teams are part of the game and iowa out played them in special teams and matched on defense. Takes all phases and when one phase lacks the bothers have to pick it up and thats what iowa does

Einstein was a thief in a patent office and married his cousin
Classy guy, unlike my teams coach. Great win y'all
@@Jeremy-u4q So noble , fine and classy Iowa had two coaches get recruiting suspensions for their opener ?

We love you Kirk
Iowa's biggest need is a passing game and a QB allowed to run.

We haven't had an elite QB since forever, or a really good QB since Nate Stanley. It's the truly biggest downfall of an otherwise great program.

How did you get such a teeny tinyvoice out of such a big picture? Wow!
100% stud.

Retire, your bad coaching and mediocre bowl games is getting old.
