It helps that he was in the room with him for 3 hours. It's still a bad impression but at least now he can kind of sort of do it when I wouldn't even know where to start.

I don't even particularly like Jesse Ventura, but I find myself empathizing with him here.
Oh, and I'm sure it's not lost on Hulk Hogan that this host talks smack about previous guests behind their backs, and will probably do the same to him in the future. No one likes a gossip.

Unions dont do much for the little guy in the grand scheme of things, union managers are just as bad as politicians, often just taking a cut for themselves while acting as middle men for upper management and laborers. Sure, you get "paid" more, until you factor out union dues for benefits youll likely never recieve or utilize and any complaints or issues you have will fall on deaf ears at your union managers office. You also have no bargaining power for your labor rates, so youre less likely to get a meaningful raise regardless of performance.
I can’t think of Ventura anymore without “The Baja”.

@@ReinEngel Yes, Ventura has a lot of stories. You'll notice that NONE of them are combat stories from his time in the military. He conveniently leaves that out whenever he brags about "when I was a Navy SEAL" because he has never been within 500 miles of a war zone. In the eyes of the rest of us who just spent 2 decades at war, Ventura can shut the fuck up.

Wow, Theo Von really lost my respect. Jesse told stories and talked about his life and thats what everybody wanted to hear. But just because he didnt get to ask as many questions as he wanted, Theo goes and makes fun of the guy behind his back. Hulk Hogan didnt even laugh at his stupid impression.
He doesn't realise it byt the greatest thing Theo Von will ever do is that Jesse Interview.
Terry is being polite here. I don’t imagine he came onto this Podcast to hear about or talk (more) about Jesse Ventura, and give that time to him and his name and brand. No knock against the show’s host but dude, assume your guests time is valuable, at least to them, and talk about them and their stories and projects when they are on, not other people. That just comes off as fairly disrespectful to me, just my .02 cents.
If the guest shows up and starts talking about whatever then by all means go with it, but to insert your agenda into their appearance time, may be just me, but that seems pretty less than ideal.
Most talk show hosts complain that guests came on and didn't talk. Theo is the only one I've seen complain that their guest talked too much. His ego is so big that he was upset that he wasn't able to make the interview about him. He's trying to get Hogan to bash Jesse here, but he's having none of it.
Polite, he is talking bad about Jessie when Jessie isn’t even there to defend himself. After seeing this it would make me not want to go on the show because I have seen that he talks bad about his priori guests.

Hogan was right to rat on Jesse. A union would have been terrible for the business, especially in the 80s and I bet wrestling wouldn't be where it is today had it happened, and it was all being instigated by a part time wrestler who came from Hollywood with no long term plans. Jesse was already planning his retirement from wrestling at the time but Hogan's career was skyrocketing. I'd have done the same.
I agree, Jesse says he was looking out for everyone but at the end of the day he was looking out for himself, how can anyone blame hogan for doing the same
Jesse went to movies long after rasslin. Tell the generation of guys who died in their 40s and 50s how much better off they were without a union.

Agreed. Jessie Ventura has always been about Jessie Ventura. His attempt to start a union had nothing to with wanting to improve conditions with wrestlers - it was about establishing a position of power for himself and not needing to kiss Vince's booty any longer. He hates being under the authority of others.

Everybody in the comments is all over Jesse's cavk and bashing Hogan but think about it like this. Theo talked to both guys for two hours. Who was the humble guy who had a back and forth conversation, and who was the narcissistic blowhard who interrupted over 100 times and basically told Theo "you're a comedian, dance for me and tell me a joke." I used to like Jesse and he would've had my vote for President 10 years ago. Now he's just a senile old narcissist who likes the sound of his own voice. I think it's the jab that was the last straw.
