    The 240 Look good on those wheels. FYI, the 635CSI picture would have come with TRX wheels and Michelin TRX tires which are metric sizing. 220/55VR-390. People swapped on 5/7 series wheels which is what those are. IPD makes Volvo specific spacers for the 240 without needing to do those mods. Cool car, and nice wheel choice.

    Looks great! As far as i can see the new spacers are missing the hub centering ?
    You might want to look into center sleeves because the lugnuts cannot center a wheel perfectly.

      Thanks for the feedback, I had no clue that even existed! I have tapered lug nuts which seem to help keep the wheel on straight but I’ll look into getting some of those thanks!

    Nice work. I'm guessing your hood hinges are about done for, judging by it popped up in the back.
    Cheap fix:
    remove the springs, and use a prop instead.
    It will keep your hinges from breaking, and the back part will sit flush again with a little push.

      funny enough my car was at one point in a massive sideswipe before I bought it which is why it’s like that but I’ll definitely look into getting it done… it seems like it will just make the whole operation much simpler. Thanks!

    How do these ride with the adapters? I have style 39’s to go on, but I’m not sure if I want to spend the extra money on hubcentric adapters or the ones you have.

    • @max._jolley
      @max._jolley  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      honestly they ride great, I’ve had no problems with any vibrations, though I don’t do a ton of highway driving. I do do highway driving however, and haven’t noticed anything but I think saving a bit on not getting the hub centric is worth it from my experience so long as you properly torque down your wheels in the right order

  • @golden.lights.twinkle2329
    @golden.lights.twinkle2329 ปีที่แล้ว

    The offset should be stamped on the wheels. The correct offset is important otherwise the tires could rub when you turn.

  • @MrSorrycharlie

    You sure those are 20mm (3/4") thick? I only see 25mm+ available on the website as the smallest custom size.
    Thanks.

    • @max._jolley
      @max._jolley  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They were definitely 20mm because I remember seeing the 25mm. I also almost ordered the 25 but they poked a little bit more than I would’ve wanted in the front. I’ll see if I can find the link for you but I’d look again! Hopefully that helped thanks for the support

    ik you posted a while ago but i have the same wheels under my house (my family has a lot of bmws) anyway i have a volvo 240 identical to yours and i was thinking of swapping the wheel’s however they are 2 inches bigger will that be a problem

    • @max._jolley
      @max._jolley  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve seen people run 18s, but personally I’m not a fan of them that big. If you like it go for it, but the best thing you can do is pull off a wheel and hold up the new one about where it should be and see if you like it.

  • @lui5423
    @lui5423 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey, I just got some bmw wheels, specs are 16x8 & I’m wondering would you suggest I get a 25mm adapter to be safe, because I don’t really wanna shave off any of the threads unless it’s necessary.

    • @max._jolley
      @max._jolley  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not exactly sure how much of the stud I cut off, however I feel it was more than 5mm so even then you may still have to trim the studs. With the flat surface bmw wheels it seems it’s hard to get away with not trimming. Hopefully that helped

    • @KyleFroman
      @KyleFroman 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just wanted to chime in and say you might need more than a 25 mm adapter depending on the wheel offset. 240s don't offer a whole lot of backspacing with the original spring in the front. The rear isn't too restrictive comparatively but I'd recommend at most 4in of backspacing. So for example, if your wheels have an offset of +42, you'd need a 42mm spacer to have your max backspacing (4in). I ran the same setup you're thinking of with 225 50 r16 tires and the wheels had an offset of +42 so I ran a 2in spacer all around and had to roll the fenders a bit. Hope this helps!

    Don't go cut no studs that's a very bad thing that keeps the wheels aligned on that car as soon as you do it expect to have alignment issues don't cut that stuff I don't care what anybody says don't cut that stud

    • @cantbearsedmechanics
      @cantbearsedmechanics 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As long as you don't cut the stud shorter than the wheel nuts you are good. The studs have nothing to do with alignment they just hold the wheels on .
