I use soft wide hairbands to change the colour on my hat. I have three of them and keep them on the hat, and just pop the one over the other two to hide them. I have brown, black and orange
Hi Marg here from the Prairies of Canada. I jusr recently discovered your channel and look forward to every post. I wear Western hats a lot so am constantly changing hat bands. If you want a temporary fix, purchase some grosgrain ribbon a bit wider than the hat band. fit it over the band and leave an extra 2" whe you cut. you can quickly tack on the band with a few hand stitches after folding in the raw ends. If you want something you can take on and off, sew or glue on velcro dots to fasten.- You can make it as fancy as you like by using a brooch or feather pin or even a tiny bunch of silk flowers. -Other ideas: a narrow scarf twisted or folded and tied with a knot or bow.-I have also used narrow belts, pieces of chain belts, macrame belts, etc. Have fun!!
Thank you. A couple of you suggested this ribbon. Ive looked it up on Amazon
i like to use stretch head bands on my hats -- all colors and the stretch doesn't damage the hat.
Yes, absolutly loved this vlog. The Jo Good pose in the garden was fab 😊😊
Thank you
The red Birkenstocks MAKE the linen trouser beach ensemble. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much and welcome to my community
Great video. You could use a scarf around your had....to change the colour. We use to do that when we were younger...
Great idea. That would work
I love seeing you in the whole out fit. It gives more of a visual. You look darling in your our fits. I'm 70 but I feel I can still look great with your suggestions
Another great video ! About the hats, I use different narrow scarfs to change the look of my hats. I have a nice leopard print one that really ups the look, You can wrap it around and tie a bow or wrap and tuck the ends under ! 😁
Yes that's exactly what I was going to suggest. It can look lovely.
Hat bands: stretchy headbands work or go pick up some cute ribbon from your local hobby store and make your own. 😊
Thank you, I’ve bought ribbon now. A task for today will be to try it out
I find your fashion vlogs inspiring, love all the chit chat about clothing. Wow! Shoes from recycled plastic that is great for the environment! 🥰👗🩴👚🩰👡🥿Happy summer!☀🦋💐
Hello! I'm from west central Arkansas so our weather has been hot for sometime now. Love your outfits. I've just recently found your channel and enjoy it very much. Thank you for all of the effort you put into making it entertaining. I'm near 70 and sometimes have a hard time knowing how to put outfits together to be both comfortable and stylish. I like your style and plan to try some of them myself. 😋
Thank you so much
What part of Arkansas ? I’m in central 😁
Love these outfits, especially the linen trousers with denim jacket. Just a thought; I also like to tie a silky scarf around the hat band for a change of color or to add an accent! If you leave the original band intact, it will "grip" your scarf.
I click the thumbs up when I see a new video from you even before starting to view it because I know I’m going to love your content. You never disappoint.
I love each and every outfit you’ve put together for us, big thank you from me to you. 💕
Thank you so much. That's lovely to know
Me too!
Question: If you don't wear the items at all by the end of the season, is that an indicator to discard it?? Or do you give it one more try next year??? I'm really trying to decide how many chances the ones I don't end up wearing (even though I might like them...) get before they are donated.??
I don’t use the if not worn after a year throw it. I’ve gone back to wear on repeat things I haven’t worn for years. I go by whether it still suits me or do I have better now or is it my taste and style .
@@Myover50fashionlifethanks, I've been trying to update and trim down the wardrobe.... I have tried a few methods, the one I've found the best so far, is hanging everything in the spare room, as I pull it out and make it work for an outfit, I put it in my bedroom wardrobe.... but stuff that I like, that I haven't worn for the whole season, I'm trying to decide if I give it another year, if I don't wear it then...am I just hanging onto it because it's pretty, but I just don't wear it, is it just taking space..where do I put that cut off point...it still fits, I still like it, and then I end up wearing something else 😢
My weather here in Montana has been a lot like yours for June. Cold for days followed by a day or two of warm to hot and back to cold. I actually had frost on my car window two days ago when I was going to work. The forecast for the next two weeks is looking good for breaking out my sundresses and sandals, with a jean jacket or a cardi, just in case lol
Frost! No. That's horrifying for June 😄
Very nice outfits!
Hi there, love the vlog. Em, if of interest, I use velcro rollers, about 1" in diameter, in my hair whilst showering. Due to the steam, this practice has helped train my hair to sit 'under'. A little setting lotion on the ends of a wayward section also helps. Keep the rollers in for as long as you can whilst dressing and if time allows, let any that have setting lotion on the hair dry naturally with the roller in. Otherwise, blast with a warm , not hot, hairdryer if in a hurry. I also use Plantur 39 shampoo ....noticeably next to no hair loss since using as directed past few months. Can be bought for coloured/stressed hair too. Is a bit pricier than the norm and I have found Superdrug to be the cheapest.
Oh thank you. That's an idea.
You're welcome!
My hair is exactly the same; very thin and mine turn outwards just the same so look forward to seeing what you are going to do to amend it, thanks for the video
I think waiting 3 weeks after the cut will help. Let’s see future videos of mine to see when it stops doing this.
Thanks for a great video! Loved the jo good style video 😁 I think you captured it perfectly!! Happy to see more of those x
love the natural curl...keep it...my curls represent who I am as do yours!
Great video loved your outfits you inspire my wardrobe ❤️😊
That Teddy Black is huge like the color. Like that beach look.
It is big. Its a bag to take to work size. Handy for a4 paper's but for casual life I should have chosen a smaller one.
My hair does exactly the same as yours and its the same side that turns out. If you ever find an answer to our hair problem please post. Thanks for this video. Brilliant as usual. Still no heat here so no summer clothes just yet. Hopefully some warmth will come soon.
Mine is less effected when it grows to 3 weeks after the cut. Also I have a slanted bob so it’s cut on a bias. That reduces it a bit. I think next cut I’ll have to ask for it not to be cut quite so short
Nailed the coastal grandmother look!
Here’s a thought, could you use stretchy hairs bands to go over the band on a hat ? Would they be big enough or tie a scarf over the hat band.
I do love your styling up ideas 😘
Your hair looks just fine!
No need to explain. 💞
Great video. Regarding hat bands. I have a few half metre lengths of 2 inch grosgrain ribbon bought from a local craft shop which I pin around my straw hat to coordinate with different outfits. 💖😊👍
Thank you. Ive ordered some ribbon and just had an Amazon pop up saying it will be delivered soon
Tell us how you stay in shape!
Everything looks good on you!
Well I’ve lost too much weight recently due to medication. Dietician advised me to up my fats to get a few more pounds on. So I’m not a good example of how really. It was nausea and small portions and not fancying carbs that got me here 😞
Sorry to hear that but you do look good! Love your channel!
I love the curl
Love your style! Don't apologize for your hair. Your hair on a "bad day" looks better than most on a "good day". If you want to explain why later, that's fine..
1) your hair is perfect
2) I was about to ask how these shoes do on the heel!
3) you look great, now to watch the rest of your video.
Loved the video! Do you have a link to Mary’s channel please…?!
Yes here it is th-cam.com/channels/90wuoPZfrADF1SOfLghuIw.html
Great haul everything looks good. You have a lovely smooth midsection that I envy, mine has a few lumps and bumps that doesn’t allow clothes to sit as smoothly in that area, particularly waist bands of skirts. Thanks for sharing.
I wear hats almost every day and I have several different kinds. I absolutely love hats and I don’t care what anybody thinks women used to wear hats every day in the 1920s and 30s so I don’t know what happened?
I looked at the shoes. They also have a square toed flat that I think is cute.
Yes they do. There's quite a bit of choice on the site. Measure your foot to get the right size. There's a guide when you select the shoe. It worked for me perfectly. Id have ordered the wrong size if i hadn't measured
I was just thinking that the black top + black and green skirt outfit would look better with a black hat band when you said exactly the same and showed the side by side photos. Just a little thing but it made a huge difference. Do you sew or know someone who does? Grosgrain ribbon would make good hatbands and they could fasten with a couple of hooks and eyes to be interchangeable. A small bow or other embellishment would cover the join.
Yes so true. Re the ribbon, yes ive just looked it up on Amazon. Thank you
Why not get some strips of ribbon to use as bands round your straw hat? You probably could easily attach it with a safety pin.
Ah a safety pin. Good idea. Ive bought ribbon but was wondering about an easy fix

Just found your channel and it is very relevant to my lifestyle so thank you. I like the black v-neck tee shirt with the green zebra skirt but can’t find a link. Is it a recent buy?
The skirt is not available but the tshirt is one i show quite a bit. I love the t as it drapes well. You'll find a link to it in my video about what my followers have been buying, 2 videos back. You can then see me talking about it.
LOVE all the outfits!
Thank ypu so much
I’ve really been wanting some pointed toe shoes, because they elongate the leg, and prefer non leather, so these look perfect. Only problem I have is a bunion on one foot. Are they quite forgiving, not too tight?
I feel for you with your wayward hair. Mine has a mind of its own too. I hope yours grows and thickens soon.
They are very forgiving. I have a bunion and there is comfortable stretch in these. On the website you select your size by measuring your feet
@@Myover50fashionlife thanks, that’s good to know.
Frankly you look just fantastic!!!!
USA Link to your Boots, please?🤩
Really enjoyed your outfit combos, even though we are in Winter in Australia. Affordable prices too! Many thanks.Try seeing a Naturopath about your hair, they can probably prescribe some supplements to bring it back to good health. Xx
Thank you. Ill look into that.
I looked at the Aria website & of course they only come in Average/medium widths-- some of us wear very narrow. Mine are 9 AAA & so few shoes are made narrow! At time it’s discouraging.
Ill feed that back to them. Thank you. Dod you try their guide to obtaining right size as I'm sure i had to measure my foot width aswell as length
You look lovely in hats…..my head is too small for them….they never fit correctly

Great video 👍
Your hair is very cute
🇲🇽woow lindos outfits👍🌞🌷🌨
Thank you so much
I did try to use your shoe code but they said it didn’t exist? I’m sure I put it in right. Sorry, I tried a third time and it worked. I’m glad you mentioned these shoes as they are just what I was looking for. Update. I’ve just bought 2 pairs. More expensive than what I usually pay but they look amazing. I got a neutral hemp and black for with black tights in winter. I went up a half size to accommodate thicker tights, I hope that will work🙏
Ive seen other youtubers say they last years so I'm glad i have them. Did you use the guide to size and measure your foot?
@@Myover50fashionlife I did try to measure but my toes arnt straight and I still wasn’t sure. I do hope they fit.
Maybe just use scarves on your hats.
I love your cow visiting hat 😊 where can I find one? I hate floppy hats if I'm not intentionally wearing one on the beach. I've tried to buy banded hats sort of woven on Amazon..they came folded and crumpled and ruffled edges!! 😡 not good want stiffer brim. Thank you love your vids!!
That is an Australian Barmah hat. I think you could search that online to find a supplier.
I love these so much! May I ask what you have on your eyes? It’s a very pretty colour x
It's a bronze pencil shadow by Ayu. I'm putting a video up soon on this makeup. Thank you
@@Myover50fashionlife oh lovely … I shall look forward to that x
By the way do you mind if I ask you how old you are. You look great!!!!
Im 60
Your hair looks lovely, and you look so slim, have you lost weight ? love your video's xxx
Yes, ive lost a stone due to medication. Saw a dietician yesterday. We're trying to get my weight up to 8st as at 7.7 im scrawny, which is what I've dropped too. More fats is the way we are going. Full fat yogurt, avocados and so on. I was upper bmi last year. Id say I'm bottom of my bmi now. So short answer yes but not intentionally
Love the skirt, but not the length of it. Us short people should not wear that length. Sorry, i am just getting that after all these years. But love you.
Odd isn't it as many say long is elongating. So on that basis i wss looking to enjoy maxi skirts.
I love to hear of things being made from recycled waste, so much better than landfill!!! Every country shoul be doing it, so much CAN be recycled and isnt!! We need to leave a livable world for our grandkids!! We had nothing like the waste now, when i was a kid, fish n chips wrapped in old newspapers with just 1 layer of fresh paper..None of us got sick!!, now its all purpose made containers!! Thrown on the side of the roads!!😢😢 and its still not our generation, the teens of today are Not looking after their future world!!
Yes, your hair is thickening up nicely.... sorry, did you say why it thinned and what you did to fix it? I can tell you, i bought some shampoo to strip the chlorine from my hair (I swim regularly for health) and the shampoo destroyed my hair (discovered it was supposed to be used monthly not every time I swam!!) Too late, my hair snapped off from the damage and I went from a bob to a pixie cut!!! And as the arthritis in my shoulders is so bad now, i think it will stay!!
I didn’t say as I didn’t like talking about it. Chemo. Folfox which thins the hair. It’s just getting back to thick and good condition now.
@@Myover50fashionlife I am glad it has worked for you though. My sister passed from Lukaemia and mum and dad agreed to allowing her to have autopsy and tests to help with cancer research. I like to think my sister helped to find answers, treatments, and save lives with the good treatments available now. She was 5 when she got sick and only 9 when she passed, but kids like that mature so fast, she was like a 29yr old. I became a nurse. ❤❤❤❤❤❤ hope you are in the clear now, and I keep praying for our beautiful Princess Catherine and the King to also make full recoveries. ❤❤ wishing you well.... and might I say, I love your Channel, it has helped me move into a retirement wardrobe without getting Frumpy. ❤👍👍
