I love how these animatronics have had a resurgence over the internet because kids, that are up to my age (15), didn't grow up with these guys even though its obvious these are more advanced for their time.
They were a pretty big draw for the restaurants, because yeah, the tech was really great for the '80s. Of course, if your local place had one of the characters break down, there was no telling whether they'd spend the cash to fix it. I think every kid who grew up going to Showbiz or Chuck E. Cheez eventually faced a visit where the curtains didn't open bc one of the robots was borked.

The Rock afire Explosion is a very beautiful band, it seriously needs to come back to public again, if only there's a way. This is a great example how amazing The Rock afire Explosion is, I love this video, Mitzi Mozzarella is my favorite Rock afire character next to Billy Bob.

I definitely prefer this to Shakira's version. Shalisa is still a great vocalist and Aaron's writing and performance of the other voices adds great comedic value. Rolfe's melodramatic antics and the repeated "no fighting" comment always leave me rolling with laughter!
If you spent any time at all in a Showbiz Pizza as a kid then you can't possibly watch this and not have a smile on your face. The inter-character dialogue that precedes the song itself is absolutely classic. I spent a lot of time in the Myrtle Beach Showbiz as a youngster.

I maybe almost 30 but I still love these guys Looney Bird Rocks!!!

I loved seeing these guys as a kid for my birthday at Funtime Pizza Circus (our local branch version of Showbiz Pizza) and I am so glad to see them back in action. I would love to see them come back to a place near me. I don't care that i'm 28, i'd still have my birthday there.
Tell ya this would get a standing ovation anywhere. The movements are really smooth and the banter you set up, really works very well. Sounds like this could port directly to any still functioning show.

If any of you get the chance, SEE the documentary based on this guy's work. Trailers will show up around this one as suggestions. It's such a great doc, it had me crying, even though I was too young to remember going to Showbiz. It's better than King of Kong.
I'm so fortunate that my parents had taken me to Showbiz Pizza in the late 80s. 80s Showbiz with the Rock-a-Fire stage shows was far superior to the current Chuck E. Cheese. Maybe it's nostalgia talking, but the atmosphere then was awesome. I heard they don't even do stage shows anymore. Kids today don't even know what they missed out on.

Its a shame seeing the condition some of these guys are now left in (the ones that survived anyway) I unfortunately didnt grow up with these guys, but I'm still a huge fan, and especially for there time period there so advanced.. I hope one day the ones who survived can be fully restored and make a come back .. However with chuck e cheese getting rid of all there last remaning animatronics, it seems unlikely.
