The real problem is that Goodwill has started to sell on EBay also. So it is about the money and not helping people have good deals. Goodwill has become money hungry and not a real place trying to help people period.
Goodwill has been selling online and on eBay for years.

@@denisekoenig9479 and stop shopping there. if people did this in the beginning the craziness wouldn't have come this far. People don't understand we have the power to keep them in business or to put them out of business. A week or 2 with no money coming in will change anyones business plan.
That poor cashier! It is hard enough to do what they do and then to have that manager doing that so unprofessionally in front of customers, that manager DEFINITELY should be reprimanded for her behavior with both the customers and the cashier! I worked in Retail Management for over 25 years and would NEVER do that to an employee in front of customers!
yes, the cashier should have immediately been relieved and the manager should have been having that discussion in the office, away from customers. Absolutely unprofessional. The employee also shouldn't have been discussing what happened with Kayla but, I understand she was upset and things happen. We didn't see the whole encounter so who knows what really happened.
I worked as a restaurant manager, you should not even do that in front of other employees
@@garylogan3640 I did restaurant management too. And yes you are right about that. If I had to speak to an employee it was in my office with the door closed.
i feel so sorry for her, poor thing. she should have been allowed to leave the floor, and possibly finish her shift right then and there so she can go home and get sorted out. ive been on the receiving end of customer abuse [not false accusations, but for simply doing my job of changing the petrol price on the signage, amongst others] and it is so hard to push through to the end and remain professional.
@zachary_attackery Goodwill is just so completely out of control anymore! They price things like it is an antique store and if you watch other TH-camrs the prices are all over the place especially when it comes to hardgoods, shoes and purses that are a "brand name"! Everything in every category should have reasonable set prices and they should be the same no matter what store you are in, in any state! I am just over it!
I think the change you made to the ending of the videos for a recap is awesome (Playing back the original footage with sold comps and catchy music). Really keeps you engaged until the end. Keep up the awesome work!

Kayla, I got a phone lanyard attachment from Amazon and keep my phone on a lanyard around my neck when sourcing so I don’t ever lose my phone or drop it! Glad you got it back! Thank goodness for honest people.❤
She did the same with her wallet all the time. Or putting stuff in the back of the truck, not secure in anyway. Frustrating for me. Lol. Little OCD I guess
@HeyJudeThrifting .......A lady at my church use to keep her phone in her bra, and got cancer in her breast where she always kept her phone.....It is a known fact that you are not even supposed to hold your phone next to your ear too long when on the phone because it is not safe.....I would not recommend anyone keep their phone close to there body in any place for extended periods of time. They actually sell radiation blocking phone cases. I have no clue if they work, but if you have yours around your neck constantly, I would consider an alternative. Just throwing that out there.

Looking at all your great finds, old and new, I feel sometimes my entire life's story can be told thru the isles of a Goodwill!! You guys are like archaeologists searching thru Goodwill, finding lost treasures. You don't dig thru dirt but thru heaps of clothes, shoes and kitchenwares! The parrot shirt is Jimmy Buffet. The words on the front are lyrics from his song Changes in Latitude, Changes in Attitude. Given his recent passing it might be worth a pretty penny.
The Goodwill where I Iive is expensive. $8 for one bed sheet. A coffee cup $5.99, ect This stuff is donated to them for free but charge outrageous prices (even broke items). I'm low income and I'm on a budget. I don't call them second hand I call them a retail store. I stopped going there. Then if the item doesn't have a price tag they won't sell it to you they take it back to the back of store leave it for 2 days then puts a tag on. even low income people can't even buy anymore.

I'm close to Knoxville! I highly recommend you go to Greeneville tn about an hour from Knoxville! It's full of thrift stores run by churches! Honey hole heaven ❤
Kayla, I love how you are now into flipping clothes too. You used to say "I hate clothes!". I think Matt changed your attitude about clothes! And you have certainly added to his knowledge of cookware, etc!! You guys are great together!
Goodwill around here is horrible…how can they charge some of these prices when most if not all stuff is donated? I used to shop at goodwill for work clothes, keep them for a month, and when they were beyond repair/soiled, I would throw em in the rag bin. Now that men’s jeans are like 6-8 dollars, it’s hardly worth it to buy there.
Our goodwills prices tank tops at $6! 😮

We have a very small and sad Goodwill... jeans there are $19.99... I go once ever few years, but usually opt for Savers next door. Same prices, but I usually have a 20% coupon and they have a much better selection.

Our Goodwills on Oahu are expensive. I don't go there anymore.
So Oakland Flea Market? ever go to De Anza FM in Cupertino? i used to do it every month, sold my baby bibs there. I live 90 miles away, up at 2:00 am to leave by 3:00am, roll into Cupertino by 5:00am and set up my booth by 7:00 to sell sell sell. Loved it and my customers...Fun watching you two shopping.

Wow this video hits home for me as the blow molded Jack o Lantern I used to make them and have to put the stickers on them and thst was back in the late 80s early 90's. Sorry for so many posts I really should wait and make one really long post. Lol

Our Goodwills in Central even took out the fitting rooms - if you buy something that doesn’t fit, you can return it within 3 days, but you just get a store credit
The vac you showed where you had skin dust in it. Hairdressers use them in their salons to suck up hair and debri. And the little makeup pouch you showed. My mom made me one like that to make my prom dress in the mid '80's, they were so beautiful.

Been watching since the beginning and paying attention to your Goodwills and this is the first time I've noticed you at that specific GW..The 2nd Lexington Goodwill was where i started my thrifting journey! I spent 27 dollars that day and made over $300 eventually..i think because of its location its often overlooked..some great finds to be found there. I wished i lived close enough to go more often.
We live in Knoxville. Stay away from Karm, they are the most expensive thrift stores ever. Head towards AmVets.
HI Matt and Kayla. You may want to lookup “The Niche Lady” her name is Danny and she thrifts in Las Vegas NV for more than 30 years. She is very educational of many thrifting items. I have learned a lot from her. When I see y’all doubt on an item, I know it’s a great buy even if it’s a little higher in price. I love you and Matt thrifting together.

Ketchup cleans up silver plated so well and you can get a buffer tool that’ll attach to your drill and buff out all the scratches. Not that you wanna put all that work into a resale but for anyone that has silver plated items!

Next candelabra you see, use a microfiber towel and blush. It will be gentle and polish easily and nice too. Gentler for plated items. usually does not take much elbow grease either.

One of the other resellers said right time right place and for sure you guys were in the right place at the right time. I get these gut feelings to go to my Goodwill and I always find something outstanding. I found a set of four wine goblets from Lauren Ralph Lauren that were selling on eBay for $399. I also found on another trip Tommy Bahama wine glasses with the etched palm trees someone was selling them for $399 for a set of four. Great score on the LuLulemon.

Shoes here in so cal goodwill charge about 9.99 ~ 14.99 and some good one they charges 19.99 or 24.99 depending on the condition. There's nothing priced .99 or 1.99. Everything is 2.99 and up

I think you two are sweet together! I always enjoy watching your videos. Our thrift stores here in Knoxville are not that great. They look everything up. It's hard to find deals. Come back during yard sale and flea market season. Usually, they are much better!
Caribbean Soul shirts were super popular in the early to mid 90’s, especially here in Florida. I’m not sure if it’s Jimmy Buffet’s company, but somehow related, as many had lyrics from his songs. That took me back to high school!

What about the re-sellers buying stuff cheap at goodwill and garage sales then putting it on Ebay at highly marked up prices???? I've seen resellers paying a dollar for something and listing it (and getting) over a hundred dollars for it. They aren't just interested in making money of course......

Did you guys or anybody watching hear of the trift stores called savers? Similar to goodwill and salvation army! Pretty good deals and have it where the more you donate the more you get a discount on your purchases!! Didnt know if they were just in the northeast?

you're lucky...our Goodwills put all the Lululemon in the boutique section and charge 24-29 dollars for them. Rarely one sneaks through.

The last time I went to the goodwill I got 8 Waterford wine goblets signed and with tags for 2.99 each and 4 wine goblets from France also marked for 2.99 each plus I had a 20% coupon!

When you go to Knoxville you can also go thru Harriman, Rockwood, Crossville, and Cookeville for some good prices and super good deals. In Crossville we have Goodwill , Good Samaritains , Second Chance and many more to go thru. There is one on Main St across from the Flowers Bakery and they always have good finds. I don't know what "lulu" clothing is. Must be something in your area or ebay? Asked my daughter about this clothing line and it was marketed by women who were trying to make extra cash. I guess kind of like selling avon or tupperware. I shop in goodwill and prices are so high now. Possibly because of resellers. I don't know. Now I understand the "running" to the new rack. saw that once too. to each his own.
The Lulu they are referring to is lululemon, a high end athletic wear brand with stores in most larger cities. Your daughter is talking about Lularoe.

Old tape recorders often have an unstable, warbley playback due to the rubber drive belt having sat in the same place for decades; it develops a fixed bend in it which alters the playback rate when the 'bend' goes around the pulley.
