Great tips on planting Monte Carlo, always wanted a carpeting plant. But was always unsure about Monte Carlo planting. Will try this soon. Also want plant is above the moss in the driftwood, where the Monte Carlo is planned. Looks lovely
I've just bought one grown in gell. I just tied the whole thing to a piece of broken slate with cotton and nestled it in a mix of 30% aquasoil 70% fine gravel with fish waste (not gravel vacced). I'll see how the plant spreads over the next month and I'd like to buy another one if I experience success with this one.🤞
Thank you i'am about to start my fisrt aquascape, i like the monte carlo but i know now what i did wrong before thanks to this video 👌 so thank you👍👍👍👍👍
Hello . Mine are going little bit yellow on some area . I use 8000 k 6w ramp for 30L(6/7hours). Do i need another ramp or more light time ? sorry for my english.

Hello, thats a very informative video on monte carlo indeed. What do you think about growing it attached to wood or rock? Is it possible to achieve lush growth when grown like this?
Monte Carlo will not attach itself to wood or rock, you will need to wedge it in, or tie them on with string - Official WASABI Aquarium Channel Moderator
Very useful planting advice! I wish I knew to use a powdered soil for the top layer. How fast does monte carlo take to grow? And is it normal for monte carlo to grow and spread underneath the aquasoil? Thanks for any help!
I was thinking 1 1/2 inch amount of substrate and gravel on top . Maybe gravel and substrate on top with thin layer of gravel? This is for tear drop moss and ty. Che
i bought monte carlo, eleocharis mini and helanthium green, i didnt know better and the store that sold me them was trying to make a quick sale i guess. anyways i planted half of the stuff i bought in soil in a planters box and the other half in water. you can guess, the stuff in soil didnt survive even with daily mistings. the stuff i had in water not much of it survived... my own fault for that i didnt know much about the plants to begin with. this was 2-3 months ago and since then the stuff that survived i put into an aquarium and its actually survived and started to grow back. i didnt have much that survived but what did im surprised it came back! very good beginner plants, mine survived being in a hypothetical desert lol
I planted this a while back and separated it but after a few weeks it seemed like it was dying. Recently I saw some going up from the gravel but there’s only 2 small groups which is a lot less then I planted. Any advice on this and does that mean it growing and starting to do okay again?
Official WASABI Moderator: You probably can get away with it, but will find that the roots will struggle to penetrate the sand cap. This will result in the famous Monte Carlo float.
@@NORIaquaCh thank you for your info. Much appreciated. I went with no sand on the top. All nutrient rich soil about 2inch thick. For soil I chose fluval stratum.
how do you clean the substrate without making a mess of a dirty water tank or the monte carlo simply starting floating, im still on the "growing" fase but every time i try to clean the tank the substrate just gets on the of leafs and stuff like that, should i just leave it be until it was covered the ground completely??? sorry for the bad english and thanks to anyone that can help
Official WASABI Moderator: Dear hybrisptuga, simply use a turkey baster and gently squirt to suspend the mess on the surface, then syphon out of your aquarium.
What’s your experience with growing Monte Carlo plants particularly without pressurised CO2? Is it still achievable in a tank with ADA Amazonia soil and sufficient lighting without any CO2? I’m currently 4 weeks into growing it using the dry start method and would prefer not dosing CO2 if I can avoid it.
How’d it turn out for you? I planted my Monte Carlo about 2 weeks ago and have been adding fertilizer with great lighting and it’s growing fairly well for me, still establishing itself though
Official WASABI Moderator: Yes, Micranthemum 'Monte Carlo' will grow on rocks or even act as a carpet to make a tree. You must have liquid fertilizer in the water column to make it happen though.
Official WASABI Moderator: Hi Raf, Monte Carlo may survive in fine gravel with fertilizer tabs, however, it will struggle to propagate and take proper root. It will grow on the surface and eventually grow large enough to float. We hope this helps!
WASABI Aquarium Channel is amazing when watching at 1.25x or 1.5x speed.

2x speed =nightmarish netherworld + 56x monte carlo growth
