These are so great. An electric 164 has long been a goal of mine, the 164 being my first ever car. I'll be in a position to make it happen in a couple of years. Thanks for all the figuring it out you're doing so that I won't have to.
Great project. One note though at 16:40. Aluminium DOES conduct very well. In fact, high-voltage transmission cables are often made from aluminium because of their combination of conductivity and low weight.
EV need to supply a blank insert so you can slot it yourself and also trim it to size. The one you have is obviously wrong even if it is for a VW box. IMO of course.
Hey David. Great build! Do these batteries / battery boxes need to have cooling as part of the packaging? I know the 1st gen Nissan Leafs didn't have good cooling, which led to premature degradation.
Whats the satisfaction of having an old car switched to electric?I understand that people like the shape but to waste a nice engine and whole car originality just to switch to electric i find it just a waste of money .Every thing is nice in its original shape.Trying to be in the future with an old car it doesnt really match for me at least.But Cheers and have fun!

I did a double-take when he said that.
@@andrewthomason3857 Yeah I had to rewatch it too.
Just s thought. You are combining Volvo and Tesla. Maybe using metric system to plan it could be a good idea? 😂
david has the 'patience of job' {job pronounced jobe}
Very interesting build....what a journey! Also... noticed the retro Skoda sticker in the rear window..
Thank you! What does the sticker mean?
Aint no "too detailed" for your crowd David. 😝
