I bought the Tudor Ranger the week it came out and it has barely left my wrist. Understated and uncomplicated, this is a hardcore field watch with perfect dimensions and it's perfect for everyday use. 10/10
Ive got mine today and I am blown away. I was lucky when I got my submariner 20 years ago, but it didn't blow me away. The Ranger feels fantastic, looks fantastic and seems for me to be the ultimative watch. Tell Your kids to draw a watch - it will nearly look like the Ranger. That's it. Thanks for this review, it made my day perfect.
Those who don't like the Ranger probably have not handled one. Once on the wrist it's hard to take off... So visible so comfortable. What's not to like?
I got one when then first came out. Great watch but the case is a little top heavy and thick, but not a deal breaker on either count. Especially if you have a wrist at least 7" / 175 mm. The oyster bracelet is very nicely made and comfortable but the case just seems to outweigh it. For an everyday wear I prefer a slightly lighter piece.
I can't get away from this watch... It reminds me of the mid 1940s field watches.. chunky indices on black, with a dash of red.. OH MAN!!! A refined, simple, robust tool watch. Thank you for the great video.. you have helped me make a decision. LESS IS MORE ❤
I passed on the previous version a few years ago - too large and I hated how the bracelet didn’t fit the case. As soon as I saw this new smaller size version with that beautiful adjustable bracelet, I placed an order with my AD. I’m really happy with the new Ranger!
Oh man! The lume is awesome. I'm going for it. I'm currently collecting Omega but the adjustable bracelet with exceptional lume is a winner. Thank you for doing one of the best Ranger reviews on TH-cam.
It’s an amazing piece … simple and elegant . Super comfortable I’ve worn mine almost everyday for a month … I’ve traveled , swim , run , work everything and it always feels amazing !
I wasn’t a fan at first. Went to my local AD and held the Ranger several times. After a month I ended up pulling the trigger on it. I noticed there were too many people (including myself) judging watches before actually seeing them in person. It’s a watch I really gravitate too. Phenomenal quality and dimensions. Very simplistic dial but it’s very sleek. A great all rounder and I’m happy I gave the Ranger a chance.
I rarely comment YT videos, I really enjoyed this review, taking time to show the watch and give your opinion about many aspects of it. Great job! This one will be my first luxury watch, so simple, discreet and sleek, I’m sure I will never get bored of it. Keep up the good work
I was lucky enough to get this exact watch a few days after release and I’m still in love with it as much now if not more than I was when I first purchased it. It’s an amazing timepiece, the lume is phenomenal , the cleanness of the dial is utilitarian and attractive both at the same time. Your video was great and covered everything. Well done 👍🏼
The first time I saw it I thought it was boring. As I saw it more an more, I grew to love the way it looked. It's purpose built, and has a simple clean minimalistic dial, and I love it so much I bought one.
I bought it after watching this review. I wanted this watch because it's great but it has a lot of strange, unfavorable reviews on TH-cam. I decided to trust you and I am very happy. Thank you 😊
great review and I’ve noticed this before , your tattoos actually make the watch look better . A colorful busy background and the simple watch stands out , vs the omega kind of blends in. Not sure I could pull this off , looks great on you
Great review bro! Definitely solidifies my purchase of my ranger. I can’t stop wearing mine. As a person who plans to get my whole arm tattooed, the simplicity of the watch acts as a great contrast. Thanks for the great content.
The Tudor Ranger is so so comfortable to wear. 12m thick, 47mm lug to lug. Nice and light for a metal bracelet. The clearest watch time I have ever worn. Funnily enough, once you have it on, it's quite refined. The bubble crystal is beautiful and there is very fine chamfering down the side, unlike the black bay. The proportion is also "goldilocks". A very nice watch, particularly for ever day and travel
I think a lot of people don’t like the Ranger for the same reason some people don’t like the Omega Railmaster. Neither are polished and blingy. Personally, I love the all satin or brushed finishes.
I love the Railmaster, maybe that’s why I like the Ranger as well! I wear my Pelagos the most, but I keep looking at this Ranger as I love field watches.
I was considering between the railmaster and the ranger recently. But when I tried on the railmaster I just didn't like it. But when I put the ranger on my wrist I knew I'm getting it. It looked and felt good on my wrist.
I understand your statement about wearing the Seamaster on the bracelet for a couple of hours. That's why i put it on a Zealande rubber strap. And now it is fabulous
Yeah, I could do that. But I feel like watches should be worn and should be comfortable on the bracelets they come with, since a big portion of the price is the bracelet, so yeah… Thanks for watching and commenting 😊
I recently got the call for the bb pro and when I got there they pulled out the ranger and a ceramic bb. They offered me all three at the same time. However I did buy the ranger just for the absolute fact that everyone said it was a dog. I love it. I wish I would have gotten the pro also but I can still get it. The bracelet on the ranger seems a bit sharp and a bit stiff but still great quality.
Funny: I said some of the same things about how this watch needed a few things to be really good. But I had never seen one in person. When I finally did I just knew I had to buy it, and did. Looking back it was one of my easier watch purchases. Most people don't run out to buy a boring field watch. But I guess I did. And am very happy about it.
@@backintimewatches Hey, Did you know the Ranger was nominated for the GPHG award in the PETITE AIGUILLE category that was just announced. It's a pretty big honor to get a nomination. The Ranger didn't win but still.
The design of this model was just what I was looking for in my next watch. The clean unassuming face with a brushed steel case/bracelet and solid build quality that doesn't attract attention. This fits my style of a luxury daily driver like a Toyota Land Cruiser, well done Tudor.
Couldn't agree more. I love it! The fit and comfort is amazing. Doesn't deserve all the hate. The new Explorer looks castrated and wears so much smaller with the narrow lugs and aggressive bracelet taper.

Mayby it is boring but it will never grow old on you. I simply love this watch in all it's simplicity. Of course every rose has it's torn and the torn of this watch are the hour markers those should be applied instead of painted, but then again if there is something to wish for it keeps your mind occupied about and makes it even more perfect it's called character then.
This watch is king. For the first time in my life, something I've only seen in my dreams comes to life. This watch is everything I wanted in a watch. I am dying to get one. One of the things people complain why there is not much writing on the Dial,, Its not a book. I love watches and one of the most things I hate about 90% of watches when they put so much text on the Dial like the water resistant etc.. Just put these on the back. I like the Dial clean. This this one of the things that are a big pro for me with the Ranger.
I fully agree with you.. it could have used a little more red, applied cream indices, a rounded "ranger" font, and I would have preferred the old school Tudor rose🌹 over the shield.. perhaps the gotic font logo too, OOOO!! I would not hesitate as much as I have, if it had those subtle changes. Great video, great taste
Went to buy an Omega White dial, ended up with the Ranger, loved the simplicity of it. Maybe the only change I would make is put Chronometer under Ranger text so 2 on top 2 below. Maybe the colour of the arabics a little whiter but small suggestions. Love mine already.

I own a Tudor Pelagos 42mm and this 39mm Ranger. I have a 19cm wrist or 7 1/2". I thought the Ranger might be a little too small, but it's not. It's just smaller than my other watches. It fits well and looks good on my wrist. If you are used to larger watches it may take a couple days to get used to wearing a smaller watch.
i've owned my ranger for 10 days and i love it. i even love the color of the lume. the only negative for me is the luminosity is sub-par. if you compare the lume to say the pelagos or just about any seiko diver it's terrible and it didn't have to be that way because there are watches with faux lume that perform like regular lume. the seiko captain willard re-issue with gray dial is an example

I agree, it contrasts with a full sleeve tattoo very well. I find the new ranger absolutely beautiful. I just wish it had the smiley face text at the bottom and/or a date complication just above 6 o'clock. I also have full sleeves and appreciate the simple elegance of the dial. I'm saving for a BB58 but highly tempted to switch to the ranger.
Lol people who call tudor boring are calling Rolex explorer boring. The OP and explorer are the minimalist and thats why appeal to those who like simple elegance.Tudor goes in history to pull out the explorer style case and bracelet. Its such a beautiful watch❤
Seiko Snke61 if without the day date basically a 36mm Tudor Ranger lol.If they update the lume and the second hand I think I get the Ranger instead of saving up for an Air King or Explorer.Less is more but too bad about the lume
If you think the Ranger is comfy, try a 36 mm vintage watch...a 36 mm e.g. Oyster case is king of comfort. Personally all brushed is a bit of a con. I a classic mix of polished sides and brushed top...no worries about scratches on polished surfaces...the can easily buffed out if necessary. Brushed surfaces aren't immune to scratches neither and if something really dents the brushing, its usually there until the watch gets refinished...had this case on watches.
I have a Tudor 1926 36mm & it’s so comfy. The bracelet is also really good & only let down slightly by a lack of micro adjustment. It’s really thin too with a curved side
The Tudor ranger has a ridiculous amount of charm to it that I can't quite fathom. It's boring ? But in the best possible way .. tried one on at an AD with the NATO .. didn't like it on the NATO. Haven't had the chance to try it on the bracelet yet .. but it's one watch that I KEEP coming back to and reconsidering as my first high end watch... This is a brilliant review by the way incredibly well said and detailed ! What do you think mate.. Longines spirit 37 or this Tudor? ..
I was also on the edge between the ranger and spirit 37. even though the spirit has some nice colors the 37 felt too small and that is with the larger lug to lug. If and when i buy a spirit, it will only be if they make the titanium spirit to 38mm. But the spirit is a great watch on the specs side, i just felt more pulled towards the ranger.
Bro your sound between the chapters is hella annoying. Several clicks on the volume down just to get through it, only to have to go back up once the dialogue comes in. Your content selection is spot on. You gotta fix the audio though.
Sorry about that man. This is exactly the kind of comment I need to get better. I guess it’s the sound when it goes from music to talking right? Music is way louder than speech in the video? I’ll do something about it from now on 👍
@@backintimewatches I can tell that you want to nail this format. Happy to help. Keep it up. I think your lifestyle will fit a lot of viewers. You lost a couple other forward to seeing you in the 100k Club.
Nice review. For me, the issue with the dial isn’t the negative open space, it’s the flatness of the embassies, the mat dial finish, the this bezel, and the simplicity of the hands. While all of these help the legibility, they also accentuate the open space. This also gives the watch a price point ‘feel’. The dial has a Hamilton look and finish to it. If they added a heavier pebble finish and had painted raised embrace to the dial the negative space wouldn’t look so pronounced. The lume is ok, and would be less obtrusive if it was more of a sand color with less of a green/yellow hue. The sterile nature of the watch is also enhanced when it’s on the bracelet. This is a watch that looks better on the green fabric strap. The hands would look better if they had a cathedral look rather than the arrow. I wanted to purchase this watch. The bracelet is comfortable. The adjustments are great. The case wears incredibly comfortable. But, that dial kills it for me. Maybe the next iteration will address a few of these issues and give it a little more character and less of a AliExpress homage feel.
Hmm, several? Can you give me one more except for the t-fit? And about the t-fit measurement. I did search for that fact. Says nothing about the measurement on the Tudor website so if they don’t seem to think that the information is important enough to give to their potential customers, then sometimes I might not see it that important to spend my time researching it 🤷♂️ And to be fair, in the video I say “I think” it’s about 5mm. I never say that I know that as a fact 👍 But I’m curious to hear about the other several measurements I got wrong. Have a great day and thanks for watching 🙏

Great review! Would love to see an updated opinion video. Have your feelings changed after some time. Do you like it more? Less? Or about the same?
Thanks man. Really glad you enjoyed the video 😊❤️
A update video is coming. Sort of… 😜
Seiko Snke61 if without the day date basically a 36mm Tudor Ranger lol.If they update the lume and the second hand I think I get the Ranger instead of saving up for an Air King or Explorer.Less is more but too bad about the lume
Hi there. Do you think it will fit on my almost 8 inches wrist? Thank you.
Excellent review. Waiting for mine currently
Looking at getting a 1926 as the best value Tudor. Like the fall colors in the background of the intro.
not a bad looking watch but the thin hands are a put off to me
Thanks Jack 🙏
If you think the Ranger is comfy, try a 36 mm vintage watch...a 36 mm e.g. Oyster case is king of comfort. Personally all brushed is a bit of a con. I a classic mix of polished sides and brushed top...no worries about scratches on polished surfaces...the can easily buffed out if necessary. Brushed surfaces aren't immune to scratches neither and if something really dents the brushing, its usually there until the watch gets refinished...had this case on watches.
36mm is great for unisex wrists
I have a Tudor 1926 36mm & it’s so comfy. The bracelet is also really good & only let down slightly by a lack of micro adjustment. It’s really thin too with a curved side
Great review! What size is your wrist?
I just bought one. I love it.
Longines spirit 37 or this Tudor? ..
Tudor
I was also on the edge between the ranger and spirit 37. even though the spirit has some nice colors the 37 felt too small and that is with the larger lug to lug. If and when i buy a spirit, it will only be if they make the titanium spirit to 38mm. But the spirit is a great watch on the specs side, i just felt more pulled towards the ranger.
Bra recension, ju mer man tittar på klockan desto mer nyfiken blir man 😊
I like the scratch story's. That was the best.
I like it. Simple and functional!
Great review 👍lovely watch. Many thanks 🙏
I Like the watch. I've ordered one😊
In my opinion the Ranger look awesome!
Excellent review!
The bester Review from this Wtach in TH-cam 👍👍👍👍👍 and TOP Tattoos!
Wow, thanks man! Your words made my day much better 😊🙏👌
Ranger vs bb pro?
I have the bb already
Bra jobbat! Gillar Rangern också!!
Tusen tack 🙏
Scratches: "What story?!" Love it!!!!!!
Love my Ranger❤
One thing that’s never spoken is the quality of the Screw-Down crown instead they always talk about the worthless lume quality.
Nice review!
It’s simple and beautiful. Personal ego is what makes the simplicity un comforting for some.
Superb review!!!
What's wrong with the hand, bro? too picturesque. good watch
Fabulous. Explorer 1016 vibe
To be honest I love mine well happy with it.
It's a cool watch.. be cooler if they did "RANGER" in red text.
Yes, I say the exact same thing in the video 👏
Best field watch
I mean I’m sold!
Apple makes billions trying to make their stores look as boring as possible.
You need to research the watch before you do the video. You have several measurements that are wrong. The t fit is actually 8mm not 5mm.
Hmm, several? Can you give me one more except for the t-fit? And about the t-fit measurement. I did search for that fact. Says nothing about the measurement on the Tudor website so if they don’t seem to think that the information is important enough to give to their potential customers, then sometimes I might not see it that important to spend my time researching it 🤷♂️
And to be fair, in the video I say “I think” it’s about 5mm. I never say that I know that as a fact 👍
But I’m curious to hear about the other several measurements I got wrong.
Have a great day and thanks for watching 🙏
Applied numerals and WHITE instead of green and it would have been perfect. IMO
