In a post riptide and summit world I think it's weird to be this confident with minmin. She really still needs to prove herself offline. Obviously Aegis is making hella moves, and Byleth is weird since Leo really took them all the way to the bank but I still think that's just leo being leo. I don't think anyone else could make them work.
Leo just pulls characters up the tier list who drop back down when he’s not playing them. Leo played Ike and people thought he was broken, now he’s a solid mid tier. Leo played joker and people called him the undeniable best, but now there’s some debate with pikachu and aegis (albeit aegis is new). My guess is the same will happen with byleth where people will say he’s a high tier and he’ll probably drop back to mid if Leo stops using them
Pink Fresh has really proven the validity of Min Min in offline tournaments

@@sarthak-ti Leo played Ike on the first 2 months of Ultimate when nobody knew how to play.... Is not comparable to Byleth at all. The character is not that bad either xD.

I main isabelle, a bottom tier. First I was concerned about having a lot of losing matchups. One day I got the solution to this problem: pay $5.99 for aegis and win using half of my brain. :)

I’d put Banjo as Pickable simply because at the very least he has a decent kill confirm, good smash attacks and decent recovery thanks to wonder wing. He’s annoying to play against though.

In my opinion when you all see a cracked as fuck kazuya smoovin in tournaments with all the hidden tech you didn't realize existed yet, opinions of kazuya might drastically change, terry does have some really good tools, aka spot dodge attack, and safer approach options, but when we see a kazuya that consistently crouch dashes so many moves , and with all the mixup hidden techs, we will see!!! Good vid

@@gunslinger9786 I'd have to agree however I don't think even the best kazuya players are playing him optimally yet. I feel the optimal way to play him is very reactionary and lame, cause like you have the best reflector in the game, you have a wave dash, thunder punch, and you have back tilt. So I feel like if you wanted to make the argument for kazuya being one of the best characters in the game he's gotta be played differently... I think at least.

Personally riptide for me wasn’t much of a tier increase for byleth and more just a proof of being major viable
I think all this means is skill factor is more important than character tier.

@@Bken96 nah, Byleth is definitely Mid-tier and high tier at MOST. That should be the consensus. Believe it or not, their stock gets deleted if a Ryu gets past the smash/air attacks just ONCE. It becomes super hard to space suddenly. Like I agree Byleth is good, but there are way too many characters that beat or break even with her to be considered great. just Mid-tier with high/top tier tools. (Only the aerial attacks imo... And Tether lol)

I prefer oomph to acceleratle. I find the extra speed to be a little hard to control sometimes. Oomph is just far more consistent to me.

I main Plant since the begging since he is just overall fun. He is definitely under used. I seen situations where he literally has openings but since I don't know how to do it it's like finding your own way there. But do think he is deffently not trash, his wacky hitboxes and psychological game play is just fun. It's funny also to see people coping losing to him, either you learn or say he is just trash still. But, do overall hope one day he is used for time period to see what he can do my larger part of the communit. Also, he was free for time so no waste of money if you got him then.

I really wish Banjo was better. He was my top request besides Minecraft Steve and I still main him...but they didn't do him justice.

10:38 eh imo his best spell in terms of buffs has gotta be Accelerate. Free get out of disadvantage card and almost guaranteed 0tds on every character in the game and even if you don't kill with it you can still land one grab and get a free 30-50% combo
I think you’re right, it just depends where you get them honestly. So much of hero is based around IF you get the thing you need, not just in general, but in the right moment as well. His normal moves often leave him a decent amount of lag that it’s useful to have accelerate more often then not since you have a good offensive AND defensive move
btw kazuya and sephiroth are on the comeup. They are DEFINITIVELY Top Tier. Maybe Not Top10 but they are wayy to good

I think Banjo is a solid mid-tier option. He's fun to play as imo (he's also my main)
Aegis is very good but not better then joker. If you know how to edgeguard them, they have no chance off stage anymore. I know that since I secondary Aegis and its hard if I'm offstage against many other characters.

I tried to play as Byleth and they are a hard character to play as. I mean the up special and side special are fine. But the down special and mid special are kinda timing restricted. And if you miss, punished. Yeah Byleth is kinda not too great in terms of competitive play.

Personally I'd put Banjo above Byleth because his mu's in top tier are slightly better. I think he beats Peach and PT and goes even with Snake , Pacman , Falcon and maybe Shulk , while Byleth only really does well vs G&W. But these guys are top players so what do I know?

As a banjo main who has gotten to finals in tournaments held at the college I go to, I believe he is better. Some moves are long enough to practically be a sword, which are helpful for certain matchups. His wonderwing lets him muscle though projectiles and his eggs help him pressure, which is also good for certain matchups.
Not to mention he is rarely used, which means less matches, which means less odds of you fighting him, which means less experience. Having less experience against a character with weird gimmicks tends to be awful. I always get free wins against people on their first tries.
I will say though, he gets little reward for more work. His gameplan is similar to snake, but with no combos and less damage per hit. You can win 10 interactions with people and you take more damage from 1 loss at times. He also falls apart when pressured. Essentially, ya got to play out of your mind, which is why I think they left him under byleth.

I understand you WaDi, we all love Banjo Kazooie, and he is the type of character we care more about his inclussion and representation for the fans rather than his competitive skills
Piranha plant is so underrated. The community says he’s just a silly joke character but he is really busted. Don’t even get me started on his up tilt and his poison. That stuff hits like a truck.

Hmm the only thing that RIptide changes is maybe Aegis should be in nice, and MinMin should definitely be in nice. I think Byleth stays the same. Byleth is viable, all of the mid tiers are viable in Ultimate, its just a decently balanced game.
Byleth goes in nice, Aegis remains in busted, still in contention of being number 1, don't listen to this idiot.
I think the order of this tier list will stay roughly the same, but keep in mind that all the characters in the nice tier would still be high or top tier in a normal tier list so they're not bad at all
Leo makes any character look top tier. He did it with Ike, now he's doing it with Byleth.
Character is still mid, Leo is just insanely talented
There's a strong chance the last character will be Crash... but with the upcoming release of mario + rabbids 2, I think they might add Rayman as a cross promotional... I'd prefer Sora(kingdom hearts) or Amaterasu(okami)

I wouldn't call the reaction "disgusting", and I'm a Byleth main so there's that. A ton of negativity but I understand because Fire Emblem isn't loved and whatever, but it doesn't matter. They're a fun character. Sorry about the bullying though, that's really immature and stupid. You should be allowed to enjoy your favorite characters. Check out the Smash Ultimate discord, it's a pretty good community. I've been there for a while now, and there's plenty of Pyra mains. If you don't feel like it though, that's fine. Peace out!
Was the editor note for Byleth necessary? I mean, I don't think Leo's performance at Riptide changes anything regarding Byleth honestly. Leo already got previous major placements using the character and that's Leo after all.

He’s one of those wifi warrior characters. Outside of that he just lacks everything. Zoning tools suck, can’t really approach with much but has to in order to get kills, recovery is hit or miss. He’s got a good fsmash and tilts but that’s really all I can see

His jump is awful and his approaching tools are not good at all. and I love playing as Banjo so no bias
@@raymondfowler6380 Pros: he has the best two-framing in the game, decent zoning, eggs help in order to approach, one of the best sets of ground normals in the game, unpredictable recovery, tons of kill confirms, rear egg shenanigans, wonderwing.
Cons: horrible air speed, not that many combos, not enough damage on eggs, meh oos options, and up air
Honestly his lack of damage on eggs and up air and bad air speed is what keeps him from being a solid high tier, right now he's around the lower end of high mid.
