Just got my Squidy Bits in the mail. We are heading to Florida next week and I'm beyond excited to get to try it out. Thank you guys for everything you do!!!
@@HeySkipper I'm used to to trout fishing here in TN so beach/saltwater fishing will be all new to me so I'm mostly gonna try bottom rigs and I really like them as trailers for spoons and that buck tail. What size buck tails are ya'll using in this? Honestly gonna try as many of your methods as possible.
Man watching you two has made me want to try my hand at salt water fishing pretty badly always great videos. Catfishing is my main thing . You got a good amount together, always entertaining.
You guys should totally try Colt State Park in Bristol, Rhode island. It has a great variety of species, and there's even a nice pier you can fish off of. I definitely recommend!!
Looks like a pretty featureless beach, was there anything in particular that you were casting to? Just behind the break, perhaps? As a suggestion, everybody goes to the Cape (and now you know why), but for something different try Plum Island up north of Boston, near Newburyport. It's an 11 mil-long barrier island and the beach profile varies quite a bit.
I was fishing in sand bridge in Va beach wading and had caught a nice 20 inch speck and two puppy drum, at 26 and25 inches, I had waders and the fish where on a stringer on a rope about 15 feet from me a 12 foot bull shark snatched the stringer, needless to say I ended fishing early.
try bait fresh bunker chunking with 9 or 10/0 j hooks with 3-4 oz weight , fish finder etc. from the surf over there or with mackerel . Especially with a fresh bunker head , no doubt about it you’ll land a big one especially at night👌👌👌
Can't wait till u guys come to Cali. Just started fishing and in NorCal I hardly see anyone catch anything big here in person. Plenty of photos out there but haven't seen a person do it in person from the pier yet. Home to learn from you guys when you come.
@@HeySkipper we'll do our best but hey just message him it's worth a try! You and Erin have such awesome personalities about fishing that I can't see how this could go wrong!
james fair........For straight guys, taking a girl fishing may be the ultimate in public displays of affection. Plus, at 7:18 she says, "Babe are you ok?" indicating romance.
Hey bro , can you make a video to explain about what bucktail are you using or not ?!!! I’m from Australia. I can’t understand what baits or lures or bucktails that you are using for fishing ?!!! And please make videos to explain , will you ?!!!
So I typically throw a 1-2 oz bucktail from shore. The heavier it is, the further you can cast. But too heavy will sink to the bottom too fast. I typically throw a white bucktail in the day and a black one at night. I rig our Squidy bits bait on the end of the hook to add size scent and motion to the bucktail. Hope this helps mate👍
I mentioned before that I would like to see an episode on your other gear. Like what backpack are you using? What boots are you wearing in the surf? I would also like to see a contest to come fish with you. Love your stuff. Just recently had a day at Cape Henlopen in Delaware. We used some of your tips.
Go catch big 50# plus freshwater catfish out of the Tennessee or Mississippi rivers. That will bend them poles and keep you busy for a good while. I live close by the Tennessee River and the big cats are fun!!!! My PB is 83#’s and 5 ft 2 inch back in 1977. Been trying to top that ever since, got several 40’s and 50’s but not that dollar mark. Keep on keeping on!!!!
My go-to "getting me started" setup for the Cape is a Tsunami Trophy (~$100) paired with a Diawa BG 6500 (~$100). The Trophy is just about the best bang-for-the-buck rod out there today.
@@tonychau1983 it depends a bit on where you are looking to fish. For a place like the Cape Cod Canal with it's steep banks, 10' is perfect. If you're looking at beaches, I'd look at 12'. The extra length makes a big difference in casting distance.
Tony Chau I have a 9’ Tica rod paired with a bg 4000 I use in the surf for strippers and halibut and love it. I have both the 4000 and 6000 and the bg’s run a bit big so if your casting all day I’d recommend leaning toward the 4000 to save weight, it’s still plenty strong.
I'm surprised with so many subscribers and viewers that people aren't taking you guys out on their boats!! Nothing like using your products with the people that make the product!
@@HeySkipper I agree. If your every in Savannah GA, please feel free to contact me on FB. Same name and image on there. I would be glad to take you guys out.
I don't know if you guys know much about Zebco Reels, but I have an old 808, has the dual handle, and a star drag, it is a made in China one, so not too old. Other then that I have no information about it. I am hoping you can help me.
By how much margin "Uglystik GX2" spinning rod will win over "Uglystik carbon" spinning rod? (If possible can you do the same kind of test you did with GX2?). Thank you......
Hey I'm hoping you see this because I'm really hoping for some help before I go to Bass pro this weekend. I'm picking up a Shimano baitrunner 6000D and I'm not sure which rod I should pair it with. I'm trying to spend under $150 on the rod. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestion!
Seconded! West Wall jetty across from Galilee would be good too. Take "the hike" out towards the end
There's also a bridge right next to the pier where the current comes in and out, and schoolies are always chillin in there.
Brendon it would great if you can share your gears so we can learn more from you.
your goofiness is so funny, and Erin's nervous laugh with that first catch is hilarious
Wow...what a big fish from surf fishing, nice
you guys should make a fishing bucket with your bucket list on the outside
😂😂good idea
Teres Anderson that’s a cool idea!
or make a big sticker that can wrap around a bucket with the list printed on it might be more cost-effective that way
