This is the organ I played at my last Worknig Mens Club job six shows a week in Leicester (In the UK) - A great organ although the optical swell pedal blew it's bulb a couple of times resulting in full volume - I had two x 1000W Speaker cabinets on each side of the stage and it probably explains why I'm a bit hard of hearing on one side. The Solina String Ensemble was very good, loved by singers and saved me lugging my Jen SuperStringer to work - when I moved house to where I live now my next door +1 neighbor had the same organ and was a bit surprised when I sat and played it (knowing where all the buttons were, despite not touching one for 15 years) - they don't make them like this anymore, a great sound and a great piece of furniture, I used to enjoy going to work, sitting at the driving seat of this beast. Bought back a lot of good memories, particularly as I'd play a lot of the songs in this video.
A beautiful recording of all kinds of songs on a matchless organ for the time. We had one at home too. A typical Dutch instrument built in Bodegraven. I think drums and guitar are played live along with the organ of course.
Thanks for sharing this Mike. I remember playing it in my Dads shop as a kid. Great organ, not many recordings other than John Mann. Nice to hear it in a different style.
The Eminent 2000 Grand Theatre is my absolute favourite electronic organ. No other organ has such a full sound. Unfortunately, I never learned to play an instrument. But we had the luck to enjoy many concerts of John Mann.
@@TheEltonJohnTribute hope, you sells the Organ to a good people. Sometimes I saw this Organ at eBay for less Money and I am afraid, that they put it to trash.... Sorry my bad English.. .....
Lovely sounds indeed. A few years back Brian Sharp fairly made Eminent 2000 sing on the BBC Radio 2 programme "The Organist Entertains" when it was hosted by Robin Richmond. Brian played a couple of Cole Porter numbers, "Swingin' down the Lane" & "They can't take that away from me", and they were brilliant! I have a cassette recording which is quite poor quality but listenable. Anyone else have a good copy?
Hi Benedict, there are two versions of the Eminent Grand Theatre - one with 13 pedals and, the Grand Theatre 2000/27, which has a 27 note pedalboard. I suspect that Co, (aka pete Colley) is using the one with the bigger pedalboard for his recording - normally, he records using a Hammond X-66.
I hope there are still people who can restore these organs, otherwise they are gonna be demolished and for ever be passed away. That's what I fear ....
I wish organists would admit they do this. There's nothing wrong by doing that - it is professional after all. But we at home would not produce music like this. Also those drums make this recording - if the organ doesn't have them, then this cannot be a true representation of this instrument.
The Eminent brand originally comes from Bodegraven in the Netherlands...and not from GB or something like that. In 1975 I had a second hand Eminent 310 Unique, the same Eminent organ that the famous synthesizer composer J M Jarre used for Equinoxe (String Ensemble), among others, see a video here from someone from Denmark: th-cam.com/video/yDp3Tgzo0w4/w-d-xo.html

Very beautifully played Paper Roses at a very high tempo, but still sounds fabulous.👍👍👍👍
Ik heb de registerbakken gemonteerd in 1979-1980 bij Eminent B.V. in Bodegraven. Een prachtig instrument. Later nog de Eminent 2500. Een mooie tijd!!

The range of the bass notes are more than 1.5 octaves

Great realistic sounds for analog! Are a few parts overdubbed? Very perky and Lenny Dee-like on Tie a Yellow Ribbon!
yes a lot is dubbed.

I had never seen this organ in America, I am guessing these were mostly marketed in Europe.
I actually would say the opposite. I've seen two for sale but not a single 310u or related organ in sight
I have one for sale

You have the string sections on it too

the rhytm section is just a real drummer not present in the organ.
