Dear John Mann What a wonderful performance on this very special organ for me. What surprises me is the condition of both you as an organist and the condition of both instruments. This organ is +/- 45 years old and I have a special bond with this instrument. In the years 1977-78 I did the final inspection of these organs at Eminent in Bodegraven (Netherlands). That was playing the instrument completely through all the keys with every stop and all effects. As an electronics engineer, all issues had to be resolved by hearing the diagnosis Just as you can master all music without sheet music, I still know all electronics schematically after 45 years. (I still have all the electronics diagrams in my possession) The procedure to fully test and play this organ took approximately 7 hours. Average 5 to 6 in a week. It was special for technology at that time (197X). 1 Orbitone (patented electronic Leslie) with special knee switch. 2. String ensemble (proprietary modulators delay circuits) all in all a very musically high-quality instrument. I hope I can hear a lot more from you at the Grand Theater Eminent 2000.
Thank you for your comments and information regarding the Eminent 2000 GT. how interesting that you were so closely involved. Unfortunately I never got to Bodegraven. Even though I had the chance I was working everyday playing. I did tour America for Eminent based in. Chicago but never really enjoyed it, as the dealers would always want everything played so loud. I still have two Eminent organs one in my home in England and another in our country house in France. The two white and gold ones I used for theatre work, one is in the Paul Kirner Music Palace in Porth near Cardiff Wales and still playing well I’m going to play it on my next trip in April next year the other is in a private house being greatly looked after and sounds as good as ever. I very rarely call out an engineer for repair work they never go wrong. I started as chief UK demonstrated around 1983/4 I think still in my opinion one of the best electronic instruments, unfortunately I can’t tour now, and I sold my trailer which I used to transport it around the Country. Hope to do some more in house clips soon. Thank you for your interest. John M
@@johnmannorganist Thanks John - your wishes for 2024 are returned - Ena Drain at Bishops Stortford Organ Club would have been proud of you - sadly she’s no longer with us but we retain some great memories.
I recieved this exact grand theatre organ from my grandpa 10 years ago (He now uses a smaller but simpler one). Your playing inspires me to play again as well, many thanks!
A lovely quickstep melody to start, then it just gets more and more enjoyable. Thank you John.
Glad you are enjoying😁
