I don't even think I could do the brilliance of this book justice in one video. I can't wait to cover it more from here, because there are a LOT of secrets and surprises I want to touch on. Question of the day: What's your favorite Christmas tree ornament you have? My answer: A Funko Pop Spider-Man one :D
I'm not able to get to every idea submitted unfortunately, but I write down ones of interest in hopes of doing them someday! No promises though, sadly@@pksmith4496
I found it extremely hilarious that there’s just thousands upon thousands of IceWings named Caribou and Snowstorm (if I remember correctly) 🤣🤣🤣 “Oh hi, I’m Caribou!” “Hey, the name’s Caribou.” 😂☠️
LOL IKR Imagine one day there’s gonna be a book where Caribou goes “And my cousin Caribou and my aunt Caribou and my grandmother Caribou and my mom Caribou and my sister Caribou and my niece Caribou and my other cousin Caribou and my great grandmother Caribou and my other sister Caribou and my great grandmother Caribou and my great great grandmother Caribou and my daughter Caribou and my other daughter Caribou and my great granddaughter Caribou and my other great granddaughter Caribou and my granddaughter Caribou and my great grand niece Caribou and last but not least, me, Caribou”
I got mine just before release and it only showed up like two weeks later. Other than how much time that wasted, I absolutely loved it. It was so worth the thirty dollars I payed for it, and I'd do that again if I went back in time. Only... I'd order it sooner.
One thing I love from the books are the queen picture pages introducing the tribes. Queen Battlewinner for the NightWings is great looking. (It's also handy because I finally see a Nightwing facing me, which helps with sculpting reference material.) This guide is a welcome addition to my bookshelf.
The Guidebook is ABSOLUTELY amazing. An incredible improvement from Flames of Hope. I was literally shaking with excitement reading about each tribe. But my favourite parts of the book were the excerpts from journals and letters. The stories by Tailwind and Sawgrass were among my favourites. And yes, Caribou's story was an absolute win for the WoF community. I'm getting even more excited for an Arc 4!
I absolutely LOVED this book, it brought so many minor characters to the light. I absolutely loved Coral’s point of view and found it endlessly entertaining, and the stories were wonderful. One of my only and biggest gripes is the silkwing section. If I remember correctly it only talks about life under Wasp’s rule and I thought that was very odd, since there’s a bright future for the silkwings now. I don’t think it even mentioned the silkwing council or the leafsilk kingdom and even listed Wasp as the queen, which is straight up false now. Maybe Tui wanted to avoid spoilers, but book 15 has been out for a while now. The information and stories couldn’t have been collected before the end of book 15, so I’m not sure why they had Starflight write this? I don’t have a problem with explaining life under Wasp’s rule because it’s a big part of the story of the silkwing tribe, but I wish Tui would’ve at least mentioned the leafsilk kingdom. Despite that though I adore this book and definitely recommend it
Agreed, they never talk about the LeafSilk kingdom or anything else at all 😭I assume it was to avoid major spoilers, but still. The SilkWings have such a bright future, and I wish we got a hint of where that was headed. It was the only section I thought was a tiny bit weak, but Monarch's POV redeemed it a lot. Still, I wish we got that so much
I want to know about Copperhead now, what happened with him and the RainWing he fell in love with, why did he leave his family? it would have been very hard to leave them.
as soon as i heard about the book i knew that i needed it, because i absolutely love this series, and all types of lore in worlds, i love the personality that really was in each part of it, things that built up the world even more was also great. I love how it really shows us what happens after the main series, like how *Spoiler* Starflight is about to be a literal uncle! WHAT?!?! The bonus of it being an in universe book with notes from different characters to each other was so so so so good. I cannot express how much i love this book, this series, and this world. I remember when i got this book how much i wanted to just go home and lock myself in my room to read it all. It will also be great for writing fanfics :> Anyways, thanks for the review, i always love your content, keep up the fantastic work. Have a Blazing day! :)
*SPOILERS* A couple things in the guidebook point to what might happen in arc 4. The IceWing chapter brings back the Part of the Gift of Understanding and the SkyWing chapter mentions a dragon named Beryl who was on Scarlet's kill list.
Yup! Those are two things I've already planned to talk about in my upcoming arc four video teases video. There were so many hints here and things in the books that have been set up that are forgotten
I'm gonna start reading Wings of Fire this winter! And as a warrior cats fan this book seems wayyyyy better then the guide we got 😅 I'm really exited to start reading this I think I'll really like Wings of Fire as I've heard a lot of good things about it!
Getting new content/a resolution to Mastermind, as well as Fierceteeth, and Strongwings, made me so happy! Those three are some of my favourites and I'm so glad Tui gave them a proper "ending" to their stories so far. Apart from those three, my favourite part of the book was the descriptions of the Hives! I never knew they all differed so much.
I loved it! The only thing I would improve was the SandWing section. We get some lore on specific characters but we don’t get much SandWing culture. Other than that 👌
Yeah, but remember, through arc two adn Sunny’s book we kind of got it. The cactus juice, the quenchiest, cures the venom wounds, sandstorms are frequent, and we know they like music and dancing through Quibli’s book. We also know that most of their treasure is from the fallen nightwing kingdom, and that they love mango fruits.
I did enjoy this book! i got to go to one of the events as well for it and got the book signed, I was disappointed in some of the tribe sections, we didn't really learn much about the SandWing culture itself for example, but overall good book. im glad there wasn't more Scavenger pages because im on the side that does not like them
I also dislike the scavengers, but mostly, sky. I understand the notion that since Kestral only described it, it’s the didn’t see a body, they ain’t dead. My main dislike with a passion of it is how it impacts one of the most complex characters, Peril. It takes away from most of her storylines since her whole lied to backstory was that she killed both her mother and twin brother in hatching. She believed this for her entire life and even has to cope with it durign escaping peril. I wonder if this, or a similar one, is the reason Tui hasn’t brought them together yet. Met Tui as well at the event in mass. She was nice, and gave me very big sunny vibes.
I definitely enjoyed the book very much, it gave a nice look into a lot of the thought process of different dragons, like corals letters. My biggest issue with the book was there was a lot of stuff that felt very unneeded. I enjoy all the book gave us, but some of it felt like it was unimportant and took up a lot of space that could have been given to more important things. The biggest culprit was Smolders letters about Flower. That was interesting, but it took up the majority of the SandWing section. I still enjoyed it, but there are still so many other questions that need to be answered that the letters didn’t let happen. Like if they had cut down that section, we could’ve learn what’s happening with Vulture, some of Thorns reforms, some history about the SandWing sisters, etc. Or if you want, keep the letters as is, but just make a sections for humans. That would work.
I agree with the complaint about the great ice dragon legend. We barely know ANYTHING about it and it would be so interesting to read about what it is.
I liked it. The skywing chapter was the best because more scarlet is always good. Her list of people she wanted dead is on character and made me laugh. Her backstory of killing her mother on her wedding, killing her older sister, and finally getting bored and killing cannon was all on brand for her and I loved it. Although, I do have one question. It mentions that she got the dreamvisitor from the belly of that nightwing, but how did they stuff him without taking out the dream visitor? Also, I thought the stuff about the rainwings was meh, bbecasue the idea of how the rainwings became pacifists has been burning and it was a very anticlimactic moment.
I miss having a deliciously evil villain like scarlet. Burn is kind of similar, but not in the loving being evil way that scarlet is. My main problem with Darkstalker is tht he’s set up too much and then doesn’t really get any room to be evil. In book one, the first person they meet is scarlet, and she’s shown to be kind of crazy, but sensibly so. Then, they accidentally lead her back to them and get captured. Then, she murders dune, and just does more evil things. When she uses the dream visitor to torture glory with dreams, that makes sense. With Darkstalker, he’s set up for half the arc and gets a book where he shines as a villain origin story. However, after that, he’s use not fleshed out as a villain. I always say this, but I believe that arc two should have finished with the cliffhanger of Darkstalker escaping so we can have an entire arc of his mischievousness. Also, I don’t love him as a villain since he adds to my main critique of arc two which is that there’s the trope of a wizard did it. Magic can literally do anything and solve every character’s problems. I like an example in the magic system of eragon where they explain that magic takes energy from you and if used to often or too much, can possibly kill you. We see this in action with my favorite scene where eragon is escaping the lair of the bird ring faith dudes and basically dies due to the whole too much magic thing. This is similar to Harry Potter where sure, highly accomplished wizards like dumbledore and tommy riddle can do super powerful spells, but it’s not about them. It’s mainly about very inexperienced/ training pupils. So, harry learns stuff. For instance, the patrons is super helpful, but it’s not like Darkstalker where it just happens. He has to work super hard the entire book for it, and even when cast later, it doesn’t always work first try the way he wants it to.
One of my favorite small diary stories was the one from the Skywing, Tailwind. I found some of his comments funny, and the overall story was interesting. It also explained the crossed out Canyon of Scarlet's list. Overall the book was amazing.

I really love the guide book, it gave us a lot of insight into the tribes however I do wish we got more lore in general. I wanted to learn more about what the Pantala tribes were like before the wars, especially the Silkwings. I also wanted to explore the Mud and Sand Kingdom more. Just a bit more history about the tribes would have been nice but it was still an amazing read no the less.
I did enjoy the guidebook too. I have to say the IceWings had my favorite section with SandWings being a close second. I absolutely hope there is a Legendary book, or Winglet revolving around the Tree Wars too
I was totally not expecting Anemone’s letter in the SeaWing chapter where she implies that she now has a crush on Tamarin (but I’m not surprised at all she still holds a grudge against Kinkajou 😅)

I think they want us to believe Wasp killed her eventually, but there's just so much mystery surrounding it. Why would she? She had been meeting with Monarch quite often. Why just kill her out of seemingly nowhere? I feel like there has to be more to the story. If she did die, there was a reason why. And if she's still alive, I wonder where they'd also take that as well.
One of my favorite things about the Guidebook was that Starflight got the idea to make it because a student at Jade Mountain Academy pointed out Tribest content in one the scrolls at the library A MUDWING student no less!
Okay so I got the guide book the day it came out at Costco! And it was the best Wings Of Fire book ever. And I am so happy Tui. did not go the cheap way, she when all out!!!! I think my favorite part was the Mudwing section because we learned so little about the Mudwing tribe and now we have all the info on the tribe. I feel like the more we got on with the book the chapters just got shorter and shorter, like the Silkwing section was my least favorites because it was not as long as the others. But this guide book was the best wings of fire book ever and I can’t wait for arc four and and WoF tv show!
I read it recently and it’s absolutely amazing! The letters, the lore, the updates to scrolls, more info about characters?! Man, I could honestly go on and on about how much I loved this guidebook! 🤯🥰
My biggest negative is about the section on the Scorching "from the dragon's perspective" yet it was nothing more than a retelling of information we already knew. Unless the event is going to get a proper development in it's own winglet or legends novel, that section felt underwhelming. On the plus side, and somewhat contradictory; I'm glad there were only a couple of pages for the humans. I don't like the idea of them being incorporated as something like The 11th Tribe in books 16 onwards.
I wish there could've been a page about translating dragon to human like how we got pages for aquatic and rainwing colors. I need to know how Wren made out Murderbasket out of Deathbringer
Well, for death and murder, it's totally possible they're really close together or be the same world altogether. Bringer and Basket... I mean, they could be close together too but that's like. Way more far-fetched than murder and death lol
So, yes, it is a must-read and a fantastic format. I just have to tell everyone to don't get their expectations to high either. I was really disappointed in the guide because it does highlights worldbuilding problems a lot, but if world building in not your holy grail of hobby it should be fine XD
Hey, Dogloverlikesdoge! I have a question, I just got a dwarf hamster and I want you to help me name it! Can you help me think of a wings of fire character name from the lost continent for him? He’s real funny and kinda dumb. I can’t think of a name!
6:51 I have a human to to dragon age converter here DRAGON YEARS = HUMAN YEARS 0 = 0 - 2.4 1 = 2.5 - 4.9 2 = 5 - 7.4 3 = 7.5 - 9.9 4 = 10 - 12.4 5 = 12.5 - 14.9 6 = 15 - 17.4 7 = 17.5 - 19.9 8 and above add 12 human years😂
The book was great but I wish we had more on the war besides narcissistic SeaWing propaganda. Starflight, a DoD, including that in the guide felt very weird to me.
I don't even think I could do the brilliance of this book justice in one video. I can't wait to cover it more from here, because there are a LOT of secrets and surprises I want to touch on.

I just bought this yesterday!
Hey, Dogloverlikesdoge! I have a question, I just got a dwarf hamster and I want you to help me name it! Can you help me think of a wings of fire character name from the lost continent for him? He’s real funny and kinda dumb. I can’t think of a name!
Awwww, how cute! I'm honored you chose me to ask. I'll pick a Lost Continent name for him!
How about Blue, Admiral, or Whitespeck?
I love the idea of the name Whitespeck! Thanks so much!

I got mine, I’m on the icewings.
6:51 I have a human to to dragon age converter here
DRAGON YEARS = HUMAN YEARS
0 = 0 - 2.4
1 = 2.5 - 4.9
2 = 5 - 7.4
3 = 7.5 - 9.9
4 = 10 - 12.4
5 = 12.5 - 14.9
6 = 15 - 17.4
7 = 17.5 - 19.9
8 and above add 12 human years😂
I got mine on wensday
The book was great but I wish we had more on the war besides narcissistic SeaWing propaganda. Starflight, a DoD, including that in the guide felt very weird to me.
I actually got the guide to the dragon world a bit early
Same :)
First
Edit: still watching it
I loved it so much
Me too!
