Well my uncle loves fishing but typically only for food like snook when they’re in season or pompano during winter time but he still enjoys the fight. He doesn’t like jacks for the reason they’re not good for anything other than the fight and maybe shark bait which aren’t any of my uncles objectives.
Man, I swear, we soaked it in milk n used cornbread batter to fry them in, n it was some of my fav fish I ever tried! The fight is awesome too! I swear that's what it was, with the yellow fins, they called it a jack could it have been some other kind of jack?
@@tsukonguyen1750 I caught a 40 to 50 pound black tip in Satellite beach and it was one of the best tasting fish I ever had! Soak in Milk overnight. It dulled three knives, was firm like chicken, but very tasty!
If it was me, I'd keep that fish, The whole point of fishing is keeping the fish and eating it When I pull a fish out of water, I see ........ DINNER!!!!
Being a Florida fisherman I know how fun it is to catch a large jack, but it's always a little disappointing when you thought it might have been a Snook
Yall noticed the bait swimming back to the boat right after he realizes he's still hooked up 😂🤣 he's literally at the top of water bottom left hilarious 🤣
I’ll admit I’m not a fisherman but using live bait to catch a fish that you’re planning on throwing back seems a bit messed up. It also seems a bit lazy.
It also really brings to mind the image of an alien coming down and plucking a person from their home, bringing them up into a completely different element, torturing them, and then using their suffering, broken body to collect more humans to potentially torture or eat-all in the name of fun. And yet humans are the ‘compassionate’ species
I always wanted to live there. MarkSosin open underwater shot of a large school of Snook hanging near the inlet is where that is. They're chasing & feeding on mullet as the mullet migrate South to the Keys to their spawning grounds . From the air , the school of mullets blackouts the ocean as they swim in a unbelievable huge bait all. It's amazing that their only natural defense in survival is sheer numbers ,excess of 50k. I saw them in brackish water waiting for the Levy to open inorder to swim inland to spawn. The timing is during hurricane season. They spawn in fresh water & return to sea. Unlike Salmon , I never seen them die. Instead, for those that survived they're alot bigger as much as 5 pounds. I throw them back knowing the history because , like us , only a few reach old age. Who am I to cut it short?🎉
That Fish would be coming Home for my Dinner . Would I keep a dozen? No, but one or two so I have a few decent meals? YOU BET! I could easily "limit out" on Bass and Walleye but will only keep a couple for food and release the others. I would not even bother fishing if all I did was throw 'Em back.
Fishing is the most basic type of investing. I can cook this fish to eat, or risk it to get a bigger fish. I caught a big one. Should I cook it, or cut into pieces to catch a bunch of fish.

I don't know why some people hate Jacks. They always bite, and they pull really hard! Love it when they torpedo you!

Treating the ladies like I treat my fish since 1719 😂😂😂. Always catch and release 😂😂
My favorite kind of fish ❤
Quick question…. I let go my bait after this … did they survive?
They do & eventually heal if the rigging isn't life threatening. Unfortunately they're an easy target due to the trailing blood.
Are jacks good to eat?
Nice fish!!
Nice release pal
Solid work were was that at in the river
Excellent!
They run towards you and it's crazy sometimes trying to catch up to the line. In Thailand catching blue Marlins it was crazy!!
That's osum ..that's what I call fun.
Very Lucky fishing
Thats wild. I would love to try this type of fishing sometime.

They are a blast to catch, and if you get into a school of them they will wear you out.
Where in fl is this?
Magic trick, put a small fish on the hook and get a bigger fish. great trade!
That was awesome.
In Germany it isn't allowed to put living fish on a hook. You'll pay up to 5000€ euros and your fishing permit is withdrawn
Live fish as a lore ,great
Can you fish for those in january?
yes you can of course. January can be a great time here in Stuart FL

Jacks are not good eating and almost nobody keeps them for that reason. Walleye and even bass are much better to eat.
People from my neck of the woods don't have a catch and release program ridiculous😢😢😢
This particular species of jack is rather disgusting to eat for most people. Unless you're starving nobody eats them.
Worked multiple schools circling from the inlet south

Was that the live bait that came off and was paddling around helplessly (0:34) ?... not the way to treat animals just for a pic and throw back.
So you tortured one fish to death, and then tortured another one for fun? And didn't eat either one?? Catch as much as you can eat, then stop.
Why are fish lives so important,
