God I hope Wendelstedt was fined for that. That is embarrassing. It is inexcusable to run someone for saying something if you can't even see who it was. I will usually defend the umpire, because I know how the game works at higher levels. I umpire up to 22U stuff, and I know that you get absolutely abused out there sometimes, but you just cannot lose your cool like that. You have to have rabbit ears because there may be something coming out of the dugout that isn't directed at you, but may still be worth addressing. I've had games where there were racial comments being made, or dugouts yelling across the field to each other, which could escalate into something bigger. It's fine to listen to everything, but if there is something said that needs to be addressed, then you need to know who it is you are addressing.
also a huge problem in the MLB is that they don't rely on an automated strikezone, ump can be so wrong so many times, humans, especially human refs are always major problem causers

Not a single one of these players made it to the MLB by taking strike 3 on pitches that are that close. Swing the dam bat, good hitters fight off pitchers pitches on 2 strike counts. You that know baseball understand what I am saying
Good grief the major league umpire is get worse every year. And he can’t get rid of them because of the reunion. What a shame. I suggested baseball players when they feel they have been wrong to take it out on the other parts by whatever way you deem necessary. I can make millions of dollars a year just pay the fines and get your moneys worth

Again, the insanity of umpires still being allowed to call balls and strikes is what caused me to lose interest in baseball. I'm all for unions when they are beneficial overall, but MLB umpires union is not amongst them.

Aaron Boone's wrongful ejection was BS, he clearly accepted the decision and the ump's ego got in the way.

these umpire lately are just getting worse with quick hooks and horrible calls they are just making the mlb look stupid
Umps need to remember that the hitters have bat's in their hands. One day, an ump is gonna get clocked by an angry batter!
