What do you mean "good rescue"? He cut down the tree like that on purpose watch 0:30 You can see the tree well grown already. :-) You may know this already, but this is a technique many bonsai-ka use to shape their bonsai.

Thank you sir for watching my video. For you to know. Not all tree can do with this method.
The tree needs to be healthy and growing vividly for once. Don't do any cutting on the tree in the year you want to try this. If you really want the tree to bud back good you can wait even 1.5 years. You will also need the right season. Depending on the plant it can be either spring just after the leaf buds begin to swell or autum after the sap begings to slow down.
Now you can do the cut and begin aftercare. Some people like to use cutpaste, some say its not good for the tree. Keep the plant out of the full sun and out of the wind. Keep insects and snails off off. Because the tree will be weakend from the cut it will have more chance of those. Just watch it better.
Even now there is not a 100% chance the tree won't die but it should be fine.

Hi sir.. its about 3 years start from first cutting.. from seed to thumb size may take three to four years. and its depend on the bonsai size and tree species.
