Reminds me a lot of the mbrp street catback that I put on our 2019. Just made a road trip up your way in it from Tennessee and like you say about this one, there was no drone at highway speeds with the mbrp either. But when you get on it, it comes alive!

@@6ixspeedstang186 I believe it's just as loud. My only main concern is if the drone is bad. That's the main reason most go with borla or corsa. Too much drone is a deal breaker. I put up with it in my full bolt on camaro. Never again lol.
I need help!! I'm trying to install this exact system I purchased from CJ a few days ago, I can't get the front adaptor pieces to fit into the factory exhaust couplers as shown at 2:05. I've tried spreading them to opening them more but it's not getting me anywhere. EDIT: Nvm, the adaptors in my kit were made too big by an 8th of an inch, the smaller ends were suppose to be 2 1/4" OD. A local muffler shop was able to make adaptors in the correct size, so worked out in the end.
Can't decide between this or the Borla S Type....... which one is "quiter" ??? They both sound amazing and I can't pull the trigger because it's a toss up

DJ WARREN I have a 2018 GT pp1 with the manual and I have 22,000 miles and no problems. I run it hard, race it, bang gears, everything.... the only thing I will not do is clutch dumping burnouts and super hard launches. I race but mainly rolls. If I race from a dead stop I kind of ride the clutch slightly and not just dump it hard. Mine has held up very well. Remember for all the stories you see online, there’s are thousands that haven’t had that problem at all.

DJ WARREN I had a 17 manual before I traded and to be honest I’ll say if I already had the performance pack on my 17 i would have kept it and modded it. But since I only had the black accent package GT I wanted a performance pack and the rebates on brand new 18s were 6000 off price. So I traded to an 18.
My car has been fine, I haven't had any of the common issues except for occasional second gear lockout. I love the looks and performance of the 18 and don't regret the purchase at all.

Would you guys consider doing some exhaust clips for off road exhaust. Cause I will be going off road and some that sounds amazing with cats sounds like complete shit when you go Catless. No one else does catless exhaust clips.
Happy Cupcake it’s not, you gotta hear it in person. I bought my atak off Craigslist and thought the same as you that it would be too raspy. Until I heard it in person. It’s not what it sounds like on camera. It’s a crisp clean rasp. Lots of back burbling when you let off the gas.
Is there a benefit going with 3” pipes vs Ford performance 2.5”? If someone were to be keeping the car stock other then a cat-back and maybe air filter / tune? I get it’s more free flowing but does it retain proper back pressure? What about dyno numbers differences on stock engines? Thanks
3 inch cat back would be louder than a 2.5 inch axle back muffler Should be no HP difference at all if everything else is stock. I doubt Ford engineers left HP on the table with a restrictive exhaust.
Borla offers this with an H-pipe in place of the X, do you think that will make the tone deeper? I've never heard in person and online can be hard to tell

Called Borla today and they told me their S-type cat-back will not fit the 2018 GT convertible due to its extra bracing on the rear suspension, and only axle-back is possible. He did say the x-pipe could also go on with axle-back, just not the in between pipes which are blocked by the convertible's brace near the rear axle. Not sure about Touring.
Is a 3 in exhaust overkill on these cars if you aren't running a turbo or a supercharger??? it seems like every exhaust manufacturer is doing a 3 inch...I had a ton of fitment issues with managflows 3 inch exhaust on my 2013 boss 302....

@@cjponyparts Hey guys, have you heard of this fun fact: Ford installs the wrong analog RPM gauge in the 2018+ Mustang GT's for the North American market and overseas (well, except for the US, who aren't affected by this issue). The rpm gauge they install for the GT V8 is actually from the 4-cylinder Ecoboost model so it has the incorrect 6500 rpm redline, where as the GT gauge is supposed to have a 7400 redline, like the US model. Ford has been installing the wrong part since it was first reported in late 2017, when the 2018 GT models started getting delivered to customers. The problem still hasn't been fixed and now the 2019 GT models also have the Ecoboost rpm gauge. Ridiculous. 🤔
@@vonwynns1758 Yeah, it's complete BS on Ford's part. I recently heard back from 'Ford Customer Care' and they completely admitted that all GT models with the KM/h speedometer also have the the Ecoboost rpm gauge (which has the displayed 6500 redline). 😡
This is meant for the 2018-2020 rear bumper. The roush diffuser sits a little higher so the exhaust will hang lower than it was meant to. It will work but doesn't look the best.

Have these on my '21 GT. Love them for all the reasons you mentioned.
Best sounding exhaust for the mustang. It has more grunt, but it's not too loud for your neighbors to start hating you. hahaha.

Sitting in the car having a convo seemed fine in your vid but that rev in the beginning was insanely loud. Did you have closed valves or something?
It's a passive system so there are no valves, it only has one volume. The Borlas are very tame when on the highway but get loud when you want them to.

Which is louder/ deeper?
The S type or the AWE touring?
They are really close in sound. I would give the deep edge to AWE and the loud edge to Borla

The Ford Performance Sport and Borla S type sound very similar, I would say the S type is a little louder though.

Having heard both of them, what would you say the difference between sound is of the Ford performance by borla sport and the borla S-type?
I think the S type is slighly louder. The sound is a little smoother if that makes any sense.

CJ Pony Parts I have 1 7/8 American Racing headers. I have the off-road pipes with no cats that connect to my factory 2.5 exhaust.
Using the factory clamps and the adapters provided with the Borla exhaust it will directly connect to your headers with no modification.

We do not offer an H pipe in the 3 in size that would work with that catback, you would have to get something custom made.
