There is a title error at 5:59 just FYI - BUT Some big changes for Whoop. Which are you most looking forward to?

Hey Brandon, sorry to necro post on an older video, but I just discovered your channel and have been enjoying your videos on whoop 4.0. I just ordered the free trial version last night and have been researching things to look out for.
I am moving away from my apple watch series 4 only because the battery life, and I would prefer to not have to charge every single day, especially since I want to track my sleep as well.
Curious on your thoughts of Apple possibly releasing a whoop competitor this fall with the new generation of watches. I think there are likely many apple watch users who enjoy the metrics and the usefulness of the screen but don’t wish to take off their watch constantly to recharge. Maybe something akin to fitbit’s charge 6?
    Regards, Mr. P

Hey hey necro post all you want haha (awesome term btw)
I’ve seen fairly serious rumors of Apple making a smart ring. But nothing like whoop. Their AWU is amazing especially because of the battery life when compared to the series 4. That’s what I had when I upgraded to the Ultra and I have zero regrets. I did a video called Disconnected that you should watch
But whoop is the best option for a tracker that you don’t take off

I think Whoop should try to hit the 1 year for $199 mark. That just feels more comfortable for me. Once I see $200 plus, its a psychological thing. Feels like too much money still. I was a Whoop 3.0 user for a year and loved it.

$199 definitely doesn’t hit as hard!

I use my whoop in conjunction with my GPS watch to get a good overall picture of my body’s status when I put in hard efforts. I think the moment I knew the whoop the real deal was after a bad night of eating. I generally eat healthy to support long runs and big mileage weeks. One night I decided to indulge in some pizza…like a lot of pizza… the next morning my health monitor looked like Christmas lights. It put some real tangibility on how food affected my body. Just an anecdote but it made me take a look at how other things affect my body as well. At least for now… whoop is right for me.

Dude pizza which has always been my favorite is now starting to crush me - so I ran a 60 day pizza experiment using the journal and it has led to more red recoveries than anything else, even 3/4hr sleep nights.

All steps in the right direction. I have never purchased a Whoop but I have trialed it. The drop in subscription prices is great, however I'd love to go back to the OG model, I pay for everything up front and own the device and the data analytics are included with that larger upfront payment. Similar to a Garmin device. I realize Whoop will probably never do this now.
Also, the other thing that has held me back from pulling the trigger on Whoop is the fact that they don't support external chest strap ECG HRMs like a Polar H10. I do a lot of weight training and I would never rely on an optical HRM for accurate data for that type of exercise. Hopefully the Whoop 5.0 will at least facilitate this, with the new Muscular Strain feature that could be great. Without that, I don't really see how accurate the Muscle Strain feature will be. Time will tell.

I think so too, and yes I don’t think they’ll ever go back to that $500ish dollar up front price

i love whoop! The fact that it doesn’t have a screen is amazing.

Brah, it's been 2 weeks since I could connect to my whoop. Why? Because they haven't solved the issue with a new update on Android. You call that professional? Are you serious?

Lets talk about initial purchase of the WOOP 4.0, their customer service skills are poor, extremely poor. Personally it took me approximately 4-weeks from order and the communication from WOOP was shocking, they were lost. Options on delivery as so basic and such is the reason for their lack of service from purchase to actually getting the watch. Battery time frames, first month is fine, thereafter the battery just does not last anywhere near as long as what WOOP says. I would be lucky to get 3-Days out of it.

Everyone I know who were once whoop faithful have moved away from the platform. I think the newness and wow factor is wearing off. I think we will see whoops valuation as a company shrink and we can tell they are already feeling the pressure by offering pretty reduced pricing structure for deals.
