Thanks Wayne for the templates. They are a valuable source with multiple features, which can be used independently or mixed and migrated to form a whole new other. Thanks for your time and dedication to your subscribers. Much appreciated.
Absolute value bombs you produce Wayne. You go above and beyond with content. You don't pay lip service to things, you dive in and provide in depth instructions and the templates are a bonus. 👍
Sir!!!! I can not tell you how many times I been searching for a video on this subject. There a many out there but you Sir make it so simple. I thank you for your time, the clarity, and your overall efforts you put into making this video.
Wow, wow, wow, I'm blown away by this new Caption feature this means I can get rid of the other app I was using for captions, and Canva is way more simpler to use. Thanks, Wayne for the tips I really do appreciate them and the templates are amazing, my content is looking so much more appealing. P.S. I noticed this feature is not on my mobile app?
Well I still think that there are some limitations with this caption tool (compared to other apps) but if you just use simple captions, it's great. I checked and it IS available on my mobile app, so I would update the app and check, and if it still doesn't show when you insert a video and open the TEXT tab, then contact Canva to see why that may be!
I only 'discovered' you today. You have a new fan!!! Great video. Well explained and clear instructions. Thank you too for the AMAZING templates. I would have been thrilled with them if I had paid for them, but to get them for nothing was incredible. I will definitely use them. Do you have any courses anywhere else (Udemy etc)? Thanks again
Thank Gary! 😊 I really appreciate that - and thanks for taking the time to leave such a great comment. 🖤 I don't sell my courses anywhere else I'm afraid. The only way I can keep creating free content is to open enrollment two or three times a year, and it allows me the freedom to be a little more 'me' in my marketing. 😁
Thank you VERY much for this awesome and helpful video 💛- I do believe individual changes are possible if you go to 'position' and ungroup the captions...this way you can stylize every caption as a separate layer and make adjustments to only a few sentences + even adjust the timing of the captions....not sure if this is helpful or even new?? (it is something I just discovered by giving it a try myself) 😊
Yes - you can indeed! Thanks for mentioning that! When I filmed this you couldn't adjust timings once you ungrouped - but I see that is working now! 🎉🎉 Although if you do that you essentially end up with individual blocks of text, that cannot be uniformly adjusted after that - so best to be done right at the end when you are certain there are no more 'universal' changes you want to make...especially if its along-ish video 🤣!
This is wonderful! Thank you so much! I'm launching my channel on winter solstice and will definitely incorporate your suggestions! FYI: This video appeared in my recommended feed but I'm not getting notifications even though when I subscribed a while back I clicked the all notifications bell. I just checked my notifications settings for your channel. It was marked for "None'. This has happened to me several times on other channels I subscribe to. 🤔
Hi Barbara! I'm so glad this was helpful - and what a beautiful date to launch your channel 🕯️! Glad to have you here 🖤 (And yeah - sometimes TH-cam seems to get a little glitchy with notifications 🫤)
Once you have edited you captions, you cn click on the text box that contains them and choose to 'ungroup' - and that allows more granular control. But it does mean they become 'text boxes' rather than 'captions'...so it's best to do that as your final step.
Hola, estimado Wayne! Me gusta mucho que no seas "simple". Gracias por no conformarte con presentar una nueva función de Canva, sino también aportar estilo y creatividad. Gastón.
I would love to be able to provide the text and have Canva create the video which could then have an AI generated audio similar to Pictory and InVideo.
There are some Canva apps that allow you to create AI Voiceovers from text, but I'd be surprised if Canva gets to a point where it generates b-roll etc automatically like InVision. But it's perfect for being creative and adding your own clips to match your audio.
Hi Wayne, thanks so much! Do you know why this feature is not visible today? I have a pro account! I am only seeing the 'page numbers' option under Dynamic Text.
It could be because you are not using a ‘video’ or ‘social media’ design as a basis, or have not inserted the video into the page before checking? It’s working ok for me so I’m afraid that’s the only reason I can think of!
Nice video, thanks! I found that you can highlight one word with the mouse and change the color of that single word. But can't change the size of a single word, as you said.
Hi Wayne, Saw this and decided to dive right in on a video I did last week for LinkedIn as I want to put it onto my TH-cam Channel but couldnt use it as on my workspce the only dynamic text option I have is page numbers. Could it be that there is a geographic phasing on rolling this out? I'm in the UK and have a Pro plan and I'm up to date with updates.
That's very strange (and annoying 😜). Two things to check are that a) you are working in a Video or Social Media design to start with in Canva; and b) that you have uploaded and inserted your video into the design before checking if the caption tool is available (it doesn't show in the dynamic text section until the video is actually on the page). If that doesn't work I would suggest getting in touch with Canva - I'm in the UK and it's available to me so I really don't know why it wouldn't be for you! Wish I could be of more help!
@@createdbywayne Hi Wayne, Thnak you for the reply, the panic is over, after you responded I engaged my brain and rewatched your video. What I was trying to do was get Canva to caption a video that I have made in Canva and added a voice track (made using several tips from you), hence captions dont work. After I imported the exported MP4 the option to caption appeard and all is right with the world! Thank you again.
At the moment, sadly there isn't. Of course you could do it manually. but the defeats the purpose really. Canva is always evolving their tools though, so it wouldn't surprise me if that does become possible soon.
@createdbywayne if you do one section manually is there a way to apply it to the rest of captions so you don't need to do each of them manually? Thanks
@@mania7927 If you wanted to do it manually, I mean you would have to create a text box for each separate caption box yourself and then you could format/animate that as you wished. If you use the caption tool to create the captions, anything you apply to one, will apply to all the others. You cannot format one caption individually.
@@createdbywayne Thanks, I did check for shortcuts to jumpt from one object to another but i couldnt find any. in premiere pro and capcut you can do that by pressing on right or left arrow i think, what is that shortcut in Canva?
@@mania7927 You can move between multiple elements on a single page by using the tab key. But the captions are considered one 'element' or track in Canva.
Hi Wayne, when I am formatting the text and changing it's background color, only a part of it gets formatted. Rest remains. But I want to change the entire text like it's colors and fonts. Please suggest asap.

I am not seeing the caption option In the dynamic text
It may because you're not using a 'Video' or 'Social Media' design as your starting point. It's currently only available in those two formats.
