Hey dude! So any time I approach complicated kick patterns (or any drum pattern for that matter) is essentially a two tiered approach. First I break down the pattern so it’s easier to understand what’s going on/wrap my head around. Then second I’ll just listen to it it over and over again until the structure is pretty set in my head, then apply the same process when practising it. Just play it over and over again until it’s muscle memory! Hope this helps pal!
Snare is a Tama starclassic bubinga 14x8, then the rest of the shells are all Natal walnut 🙂. As for skins, here I think we were running Evans EC2 clears on the toms, HD dry on the snare and EMAD heavyweight on the kick!
