I really enjoyed this Alice. Could you imagine what James would have thought if he knew many years later a youtuber would be featuring his grave on a video. Great content 🙂💞
Love the river Piddle in the Village Tolpuddle, Alice! It's a beautiful peaceful area and the St. John Church was a lovely piece of old architecture. We enjoyed hearing the history of the Tolpuddle Martyr's. So sad that they were punished for only trying to improve their lives. Loved seeing James Hammitt's grave and seeing the haunting statue of George Loveless. Thanks so much for bringing us along!
Thank you Dave and Kathy. Such a beautiful village, just one of many throughout England. I'm planning more village walks this year, which I'm sure you will enjoy.
Hi Alice, I really enjoyed this video and the church looks beautiful. I was aware of the Tolpuddle martyrs, and In the past I have looked into the ancestry of George Lovelass, as I descend from the Dorset Lovelace family. Although sadly, George's ancestry is tough to research. Although to be honest I haven't spent a huge amount of time looking. maybe one day I will get round it to it, great video 😊
Yes an interesting story, shame I didn't have longer there. Filmed this about 9 months ago. I want yo go to Canada and follow the rest of their story. Eric Gill was talented but like so many others, reputation always overshadows achievements.

Hello Alice! I enjoyed hearing the history and seeing the beautiful town. Such a wonderful summer day.
A piddle in the piddle? Love it! A rather unfortunate name to be sure. Lovely village though.

Moving story about Tolpuddle. Eric Gill was a very talented artist and a very sick individual.
