Welcome back from your vacation, Ana Marie :) You aren't kidding about this being a challenge. I couldn't get the tension right using my mundillo box, so I tried it on a cookie pillow so that gravity wouldn't influence my mosca. Now that I see that I can do it, in a manner of speaking, I'll go back to the more upright mundillo box and practice more. This is the first part of bobbin lace that has given me trouble and I think it's because you have only the threads along the sides of the mosca panel to create the edges - no pins till the end! Thanks, as always for your clear instructions and patience!
Yes, the guide has to be loose while the other three tight. You could mark the guide with a tiny rubber band that way you will recognize it and avoid pulling.
I had so hoped to be able to find out what a tally is but unfortunately I still do not have a clear idea of what it is . At first I thought it was a leaf then an object but I think maybe it is a stitch?? please what is a tally?
In Puerto Rico we call it “mosca”. Some other places calls it “punto espíritu”. It’s a the square form. The stitch or technique is the same as the leaf
Excellent

Please help. I am trying to make the square, but I just get a long chain and not a square. What could I be doing wrong?
Nevermind I figured it out, I was tightening too much
