Best wishes for your birthday Bob. Well wasn't the river quiet Lisa. Obviously part of the reason is Wroxham bridge which blocks the passage of larger boats. I was particularly interested when you ventured past the Rising Sun public house and up to the lock gates. There was certainly more depth of water than when I was last there. I can remember,many years ago, dad mooring our cruiser, along with other people, in the straight which runs up to the lock gates. That was when Horstead mill was still standing in all it's glory. My neighbour told me that she stayed at Belaugh when she was stationed in the area during ww2. Wow can you imagine what the Broads were like in those days?
Many happy returns Bob, speaking of returns I have moved from the Broads and now reside on the River Nene, I believe I was in one of your first vids way back when, I have a narrowboat which you recorded going past at the foot of Braden water... Its nice to revisit the Broads via your vids... brings back good memories, it must be revving p for the summer season...

I'm afraid the yacht you saw is most definitely a cruiser. It belongs to the River Cruiser Class and I believe is called Kingfisher - so you did manage to catch one!!! And very happy birthday to Bob :)
This is a part of the broads which doesn't get the attention that the rest of the system does Probably because few can get through Wroxham bridge. Its a lovely stretch and of course took you past Little Switzerland.
When you say people have been unable to travel beneath Wroxham bridge, do you think that the water levels have been rising steadily over the years? So that the minimums at low tide are starting to rise?

@@Azpep the endless storms certainly did the damage. Things have returned to normal. Your boat yard will guide you about Ludham Bridge. Lots of the bigger boats were getting under easily today. Enjoy your holiday 🛥️

The water level is down again now. Certainly at Ludham Bridge. As for water levels over the years, I’ve really no idea 🤷🏻♀️

I think it more the case that the Broads cruisers are getting bigger (especially in height) which is why they will not pass under Wroxham Bridge.
