Reliving The War continues! The Monday Night War battle between the WWF's Raw is War and WCW's Monday Nitro shows rages on with the WWF now firmly in the driver's seat. Eric Bischoff is no longer calling the shots in World Championship Wrestling, the company are now looking for a new creative director, but in the meantime WCW are still going to present their flagship wrestling show every Monday night.
On Raw this week Linda McMahon announces that Stone Cold Steve Austin has the right to a WWF Championship rematch against Triple H. Austin can have his rematch tonight on Raw, however Triple H makes sure that his doesn't happen. The British Bulldog makes his Raw return with an in-ring promo, and Chris Jericho shows how dangerous he can be when he steps inside a WWF Steel Cage.
Nitro features a star-studded main event this week; Hulk Hogan & Bret Hart vs Sting & Lex Luger. Buff Bagwell wrestles Berlyn in the semi-main event (a match that was supposed to take place at Fall Brawl 99), and Chris Benoit announces that he wants his World Championship match against Sting but he ends up getting a completely different opponent.

Reliving the War is showing us a version of "Who Killed WCW" that isn't filtered to ensure that history glorifies the WWE.
But we all know who did it: the biker Michael likers.
@@patduganz Shhh... don't give the end away.
Yeah or without all the imbeciles refusing any responsibility for its decline.
And we haven't got to 2000 yet
@@patduganz Nope. WCW just didn't have enough chin locks.
If somebody told me 25 years ago,I’d be watching highlights of the wrestling I watched at the time on a small handle phone with a screen on the toilet I definitely would of thought they were insane, but hey here I am 😂
Damn!
It's better than what's been on the past 10-15 years.
Toilet Gang rise up.
Welcome to the future my friend.
Jerry ftw
“MR. TEST ICKLES!!” signs in the crowd, a young Stacy Keibler takes notes.
Ken Shamrocks last RAW and his last appearance on RTW. Shame you didnt hang around longer Ken, you couldve had matches with Angle, Benoit etc...
We will miss Ken Shamrock and his sister. Believe me he did the right thing.
You forgot Brock Lesnar that would sold seats
@@TheBandit025Nova thats why I put etc... i couldnt be bothered to name all of them
Shamrock will still appear on the upcoming Smackdown video, since he has a match with Hr. Hughes, and his final WWF appearance is on the go-home Smackdown for Unforgiven, so I'm sure Bios will properly acknowledge Kenny's departure on next week's episode, regardless.
@@Obscusion2 yep and newcomers soon will jump soon.
For three straight years Stone Cold got arrested in September, 1997 was after he stunned Vince McMahon, 1998 was after he drove a Zamboni in the ring and 1999 after trying to run over Triple H.
2000 breaks the streak as he returns at the end of the month for the first Raw on TNN.
A very eventful month for the Rattlesnake.
He didn’t do for the Rock
And unfortunately he didn't stay locked up.
He got locked up in 2000 after trying to kill Rikishi as well
I am sorry but... TWO NEW INTROS IN A SPAN OF 7 DAYS?! You're spoiling us, Sir!!!
Another Thursday, another wonderful ~40 minutes of a lifetime, baybay!
The beginning of the Vince McMahon vs. Triple H feud that would eventually lead to the McMahon-Helmsley Era.
A beautiful era!
Sid is so OP, he overrides Disco and Norman Smiley's special intros lol
Not as OP as The Mean Street Posse
"Billy BOYY!!!"
"I'm not covering Smackdown!" he said...
I LOVE this series. Crazy to think we're FOUR YEARS in!
I love the David Flair insertion in the hype opening
David Flair, should be in the Wrestling Hall of Shame
Just got home from work and my Thursdays are not complete until I watch Reliving the War
WWF was so chaotic from Fully Loaded ‘99 through Survivor Series ‘99. A very underrated period during the Attitude Era imo. Chaotic in a good way. Must watch TV both Raw @ Smackdown every week.
It would’ve been crazy if we saw Austin v rock v hhh at SS. That’s one of the biggest if not biggest match that didn’t happen in the attitude era
Vince is about to become WWF Champion
I just realised the reason why Berlyn was paired with The Wall.
Nice
Which is funny because the wall was demolished for like six years by that point.
@@dexenationgracey1979 Almost 10 years by that point. Talk about timely.
Just now????
In fairness, given that the time frame, I think you could have gotten away with David Hasselhoff leading the Wall to the ring.
All in all, though, Berlin's just fine with the Wall.
"It's Thursday, and you know what that means."
The ONLY reason I look forward to this day of the week!
8PM on UPN, Smackdown.

I love how Chyna is a face against Jeff Jarrett but also still a heel with Triple H!
“He looks like a Roblox character right here” is crazy 😂
Hi Smokey, his cat! 😂😂😂
Smokey says you got the jam 😊
That use of Gary on drums for Takers promo was fantastic.
Jam Up Jents. It’s time to relive The War.
My fandom was at an all time high during the fall of 99. Mondays were an event. Even though WCW was trash, I set my VCR to record Nitro when TNT aired in the middle of the night. Cheers mates. 😎
1999 Curtis Hughes looks like he is about to say "whatchu talking bout Willis??"
Linda McMahon's facial expression to absolutely everything this week makes her look like the alien from Mac and Me. You know what I'm talking about.
Book and Stevie are FINALLY wearing matching gear (kinda) and you said NOTHING about it.
Hogen and Bret go together like lettuces and cocaine. Perfect.
Lettuce and cocaine? Sounds like lunch with New Jack 😂
When HHH struggling to take off his leather jacket but then Austin hits him with the right hand then it comes off lol. Plus the commentary was too good.
Vince saying “LISTEN UP YOU SON OF A BIIIIITTTCCCHHH” always cracked me up😂
Somehow the image of Sid Vicious as Burger King is just too precious.
I need to see a Sid Vicious imitator doing an off the hinge order at a Burger King drive thru
Jim Cornette at Dairy Queen is the best you get. If you haven’t seen that video, please go out of your way to do so. It’s pretty damn great 😂
Me and Smokey send our regards! Thanks for the hours of entertainment!
Chief Chinlock looked like he could’ve ran Vice City. WB Davey Boy. No one will splash coffee onto you here.
Two years later and Mr. Hughes still hasn't found his smile.
We're surely getting close to the Test/Stephanie vignette where Steph is going through their wedding gifts & Test could care less while playing Wrestlemania 2000 on N64.
"Look, Andrew--a bowl!"
"Yeah, that's great, Steph"
That’s why she betrayed him. HHH was not a gamer.
@@cyrus2546 Triple H may call himself "The Game", but he's not a gamer.
“Buff Daddy” simple but hilarious. Your show just gives me joy. Thanks man
when i see mr hughes during this time, i think "ugh, put the sunglasses back on."
You always get with me the follow up lines. "Was Shane on to much acid".😅
My personal fan theory: Once Bubba Ray was making WWF money he got speech therapy to fix his stuttering problem, after a couple years both he and D-Von got laser eye surgery which was why they didn't need those glasses anymore.
I feel like you should be commenting on how Chyna is both a babyface and heel around this time. She really was a main character and it was so interesting how she was being cheered one minute and jeered the next.
afaik, they don't have Chyna formally splitting from Triple H and she just quietly goes on to be a face for the rest of her WWF career.
@@DasNordlicht91 that’s right. She is seen helping him into a limo at the end of No Mercy and then that’s it. The next night, she’s the IC champion, has new entrance music, and is chaperoned by Miss Kitty. DX gets back together shortly after but there’s absolutely no mention of Chyna. It was weird - literally nobody (e.g. commentary team) ever questioned the split or why Chyna wasn’t in DX.
No mention of Harlem Heat TECHNICALLY matching this week? Lol
*glass shatters*
JR: Aww Yeah it's Austin!!! Stone Cold! Stone Cold!
King: What!!!
JR: For God Sake!!!
New Logo New Intro this is amazing!
Oh, my brother testify! It is time for RTW.
Love the subtle changes on the intro thanks for the hard work ❤
The lack of Glacier means WCW obviously lost
Gods, you're right. I hadn't seen that before now, but Frosty McSaviourballs would've CLEARLY turned the tide for WCW, with a cryonic kickflip on Sonny Ohno ...
You're a genius!!
David Flair vs. Glacier would have been the best Starrcade main event of all time.
I was waiting for the "Hey Yo" at the start... Either way i Appreciate You and your Wrestling Bio's Team Continuing to Give their Time Dedication and Efforts to the Monday Night Wars..
Almost time for Kanyon Cutters Outta Nowhere!! 😆😎👍
Stone Cold must have the most arrest rap sheet for a WWF wrestler
Sure he doesn't compare to the con Dom!
Doesn't matter if he never stayed and served his time.
My Thursday doesn't start until I watch Reliving the War
Major props for not using a lot of flashing effects vs other channels 👏
Special shout out to Lee, helping animals is BIG "I got serious jam" energy
Big bratwurst energy
Berlyn should have defected to WWF immediately after his treatment at this time.
We’re getting close to that episode of Smackdown where HHH has to have 5 gimmick matches in one night, inferno match vs Kane, boiler room brawl vs Foley, etc,
Man I’m so glad i found this series, taking me back to my childhood and watching through adult eyes rather than 11 year old ones lol. Good stuff.
Russo and Ferrara sign on October 3rd, so we'll probably start to notice their impact in 4 or 5 episodes. Exciting times 😂
Props to Lee for taking in Smokey
That Mean Street Posse intro is just 😙👌
Utter perfection.
My boy put David Flair in the intro, lol
Been watching since you started brother! I’ve come to love watching your videos after a long day of work. Appreciate all of your hard work!
I have to say Reliving The War Thursday, Friday Night Tights tomorrow is a one two TH-cam combo I have been enjoying. Great work mate.
For me this series has allowed to be to see Monday Night Raw War form the beginning! Since I was born in February of 2002 I missed all of it!
Was waiting all day. Absolutely love these uploads, keep it up!
Vince Russos WCW debut Judy Bagwell on a pole match is coming! 😅😂
The pole is going to get a lot of highlights. Also Vacent WCW Title Era with Writing on the Walls.
Straight garbage lol
Anything on a pole for that matter 😂
@@MR.__G we're going to see wrestlers 'not following the script!'
@@MR.__G the famed viagra on a pole match was hilarious! 🤣
I've had Tiger Jackson's theme stuck in my head since watching this video 🤣 It's an absolute banger though tbf
It's a banger amongst bangers
Bret and hogan the “excellent execution of brothers”
The Creative Control Patrol 😂
JJ's last three months in the WWF were my favorite times seeing him in his whole career. Aug-Oct 99 Jeff was entertaining.
Agree. This allowed Jeff to use those skills as a heel with a realistic character vs the “singer” gimmick. And upper-midcard is right where he needed to be.
Seriously, this is the most entertainment I ever gotten out of Jeff Jarrett.
Glad it's not just me. I don't know why Austin refused to work with 1999 JJ.
@@Speedyreedy1218 well to this day Austin is still the biggest draw ever in wrestling, so maybe he did the right thing not working with Jeff Jabroni.
@@josephsnider8190 I never got Austin's appeal long term. I hated his character.
The intro alore has changed so much from the beginning days and it's soooooo good!!! Scott Hall with the close up (You're gonna get one) it's just 🔥
I’m going to pray for you when you get to the Nitros of 2000 Mr Wrestling Bios
NOW IF I CAN BE SERIOUS FOR A MINUTE
What do you mean? It's going to be awesome!
We might get some new blood in WCW
I know what you mean. But let Ryan reach that time era.
@@WrestlingBiosyou started the episode late today reliving the war is not the same on Thursday
It's now in the Ruesso Era.
Prepare to see yours truly sticking with Raw in 99 and most 2000.
Most of 2000? With the Radicalz joining Angle and Jericho? You meant ALL.
@@jackcarraway4707 I mean WCW. Scott Steiner Booker T. WWF was good and set. WCW last legitimate talents that would stand out.
Not quite. Russo joined WCW after No Mercy.
@@ShaunShaffer-if3nxso as Jarrett. And where's Shamrock ?
Russo is genius.
I really enjoyed this episode of Reliving the Davey Boy 🤣
He’s got to be in with a shout for most appearances
Thank you for everything you do. By far the best wrestling channel on TH-cam.
I Wrestled 2 dark matches Dec 13, 14 ( my 30 th) Bday , In Tampa & Tallahassee, Fl.
1999
I'm honestly looking forward to the year 2000 I had checked out as a fan by then. Also damn these original episodes took place on my 12th birthday way back in the day 🎉
My birthday, January 4th. So 1999 was a very good one. Because of RAW of course, I never watched WCW. Even when Nitro was apparently beating RAW senseless, I always felt WCW was the minor league of pro wrestling.
I always hit the like button even before your videos begin to start. Keep up the great work
Watching the feud between Big Boss Man and Al Snow as a mid card is way better than ANY feud going on in WCW at this time. The twists and turns of the main event picture over there like a novela, but WWF keeps those twists and turns reserved for once a month or so. If I didn't catch Smackdown for 2 weeks as a kid, I could pick right back up where I left off. If I missed 2 weeks of anything WCW related at this time, I would have no idea who is feuding with who, who I was supposed to cheer for, or why it even matters
I feel like we missed an opportunity to keep track of how many WCW matches end in interference. I remember even as a young kid, I started to get worn out by it. I usually watch an episode ahead of you, but Nitro just feels sooo pointless. Even when I was watching it in real time, it still blows me away just how fast things fell off the tracks. Now we get to hear these guys shirk responsibility 20 years later.
I love the logo and intro really give throwback an attitude.
Had that Mean St theme in my head at work today.
I had people at work cracking up laughing. I changed my ringtone to the mean street posse theme from reliving the war. So worth it when I get a call and they look at me like WTF
Bosman's angry expression is hilarious, it looks like he is completely confused by anger
Why is it called a fisherman's suplex? Was a fisherman turned wrestler out in the middle of the ocean suplexing salmon?
. . .Prince Namor don't play.
Because you HOOK the leg during it.
Love the 9/9/99 Dreamcast callout. I didn't even noticed the date of the episode until you said that.
Wrestling bios reliving the war
The best program every week in TH-cam for the last several years
New intro graphics and fonts for the series. I can dig it 👌🏻
This was a great one.
Looking at this in hindsight, wow what a stacked star filled episode of Raw
The HIGHLIGHT of my Thursday night 😀😀
Reliving The War...4LIFE
Ultra Magnus didn't sign up to slam into an ambulance.
Fascinating how Eric Bischoff's firing from WCW in Reliving the War timed up perfectly with the Vice documentary, Who Killed WCW?
Remember Brett is only 3 years young than Hulkster Brother.
His hairline says otherwise
I remember that cage design WWF had. The Wrestlemania 15 Ring along with the cage was so cool!
Thursday is the most important day of the week to conduct official horsemen business.
WRESTLING BIOS DIDN'T CALL US 'SOLDIER'. HE HAS BETRAYED US
This was the Raw with this exchange:
Rock: “What do you think Michael Cole?”
Cole: …
Rock: “IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT YOU THINK!”
Cole: “What do you think Mankind?”
Foley: “IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT I THINK MICHAEL COLE!”
As always the best wrestling Channel on TH-cam
Was furiously hitting refresh today lol
Was so busy at work i didnt get a chance to watch this until i got home
Not gonna lie, that Mean Street Posse song is a banger
Why is Undertaker going back and forth cosplaying as ABA Undertaker before just going ahead and fully committing to it at this point?
Back when it aired in 1999 this episode of Nitro was the first time I'd watched any kind of wrestling show in over six years. I was amazed to see the amount of star-power in the main event for a 'normal' episode of weekly TV and I completely loved seeing Bret and Hulk together as a team in their classic colours. Sure, Sting was looking rather different from how I remembered him being in 1993 but I guess some things do change...
The Bret Hart "Why The Hell Did I Come Back to WCW" tour continues...
$3M per year. Which is equivalent to $6.5M per year today.
Shame we never got to see the Bulldog put David Flair in a chin lock...think Mr Bios would have died on the spot from excitement!!
JR's commentary during the main event was sensational. I still get goosebumps even though I've watched that match at least 10 times.
“THIS IS NOT A WRESTLING MATCH! THIS IS A FIGHT!”
Looking back at this, you can see just how much influence Bron Breakker got from his dad, especially with the singlet.
NEW INTRO AND LOGO ALERT LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
