Actually like this table better than the high end, metal expensive ones. Definitely going to make one myself. Thanks! Update: already started the project. Wood is cut and sanded, heading to Home Depot for stain, hinge magnet and hardware!
Hi from Toronto Ontario Canada. I made my tail gate table with zipties holding the piano hinge and tied up the table support to the tailgate hinge on the left hand side. No screw holes in the metal to rust .
Cool channel Kaleb .. I recently bought a tiny little camper trailer (bed in a box) and getting into boon-docking/dry camping etc. no off-road yet, but I tend get the outback muddy enough from time to time. Good luck w the channel, looking forward to new cool content!
Just 1/2” plywood and it’s holding up great! Original piece of paracord still holding up fine too. Has a little flex with weight on the table - wire cable might be better if you can find a way to keep it from rattling when off-road!
Yep, still going strong! A couple of the screws holding the hinge on have worked their way lose but it’s still stable for food prep and other light use so I haven’t bothered to put new ones in. Using small cable vs the para cord would give the table less flex under weight and also adding a second line to the other side if you want to use it for heavier work.
@@4XTRAIL Thanks for the reply. I will begin working on this project in a couple days. Thanks for the tutorial and the advice. It is greatly appreciated.
I got mine from Home Depot but here’s my Amazon Associates link to a similar product: amzn.to/3gALtrQ I’m supposed to say that buying through this link is the same price for you but does help out the channel! Thanks
Mine did that when I closed the gate too hard. A slightly larger magnet would probably hold it in place for you but I’ve just learned to close the rear gate a little lighter and it hasn’t been an issue. Hope that helps!
Thanks for the comment! Just added a link to the Milestar Patagonia tires in the video description. I also did a review of them here: th-cam.com/video/yI2sLlxvdw8/w-d-xo.html

@@4XTRAIL went great. Wish I could show you.

Love it! Any issues with rattling or does the magnet hold it secure enough? Thanks for sharing!
Yes it does rattle a bit. I think I need better magnets to hold it tighter.
Great video. Making this for my daughters Jeep.
Love it! Thanks for the comment.
Great quick and easy upgrade. Thanks for sharing!
Evergreen Cottage I’m glad you enjoyed it!

Sean Scales That’s awesome! I’m still rocking my ground tent. I’ve seen some pretty capable Subi’s out there. They make good overland vehicles!
Hi I'm from Saudi Arabia and I really like the table especially the magnetic.

Great job. Thank you for sharing.
Appreciate the comment, thanks!
I made one of these tables for my jeep but no holes only gorilla tape and paracord tucked inside tailgate. Yes fun and easy mod!
Love it! 👏🏼
How is the gorilla tape holding up?
Did this to my JKU today thanks
Awesome - glad it was helpful! Thanks for the comment!
really nice job
Appreciate it!
Ever tried wood burning, sand it and then stain. Might give it a different look.
Cool idea!
We are thinking the same idea!! Thanks for the video
Less Traveled Right on! 👊🏼
Looks great. Is it 3/4 in thick? Also how did the paracord hold over time?

@@4XTRAIL awesome just got the hardware. Missing the magnet, what size did you use and where to source it? Thanks again
@@guritche Awesome! I want to say it was a 25lb magnet, about the size of a silver dollar. Picked mine up at Home Depot.
Great video. Thanks
Glad it helped!
Nice I like it
👊🏼💥
Still running strong? Any updates or things you should have done differently?

Did you get that magnet on Amazon? If so, could you please link?

I built this yesterday and whenever I close the Jeep the shelf comes down. It’s like the magnet isn’t holding? Any suggestions on how to fix this?

@@4XTRAIL ok- we definitely close it hard so I’ll try that!
Coffee on the trail? BIALETTI ! the one and only way…
What are your tires and where’d you get them !!!!!

Just a reminder you probably already know this.
The hammock really only needs one tree. Tie the other end to the bars on your Jeep. Have fun.
😂 right on!
Hey mate, what were your dimensions for the ply ? L W H 😊
Hey! 28.5” x 14” x .5” 🤙🏼
OMG Ok this makes 3 mods I'm gonna do...
Haha, right on! Glad you’re enjoying the channel 🤙🏼
