Stuart was tailor made for the part of Allan. He was a very good addition to an award winning soap.Those storylines Ms.Monty orchestrated are legendary. You will never be forgotten.

I would watch General hospital every day after getting home from school back in the late 70s. I especially love the Luke and Laura day’s
All those folk made a difference in the quality of GH . They will be missed. Especially Damon, one of my favorites.
Yes, I agree. RIP Damon and to all the others. Tom Baldwin and Phil Brewer were both big names back in the early days of GH.

O'Reilly is one of my earliest GH memories! I was way too little to fully understand the plots.. but the characters quickly become friends

I always liked Stuart Damon as the Prince in the original Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella with Leslie Ann Warren as Cinderella ! 🎵🎵

@@earlsmith7428 It used to be televised yearly back in the 1960's...we kids would eagerly wait for each broadcast. We knew all the songs and would sing along with the performers.
@@birdsfan57 I remember. It disappeared for about 10 years, until it showed up on VHS in the late eighties. I got a big kick out of seeing it. It's a pity that it and Mary Martin's Peter Pan aren't played regularly on the networks these days. Cinderella has such a sweet, innocent charm to it, but I fear today's more cynical society wouldn't appreciate it. It really has great music. Thank you birdsfan57. Glad to see someone else remembered it as well
@@earlsmith7428 Yes, both Cinderella and Peter Pan were magical for us kids back then. And even though there have been several incarnations of Cinderella over the years, the best and most memorable will always be the one starring Lesley Ann Warren and Stuart Damon. The world and life was so very, very much different back then. Sadly, today's generation of children are already so mature beyond their years thanks to the media and popular culture, that I think there is no more "magic" to their childhoods, and if there is, it doesn't last as long as it did for us. So, I agree with you, that those programs would more than likely not be well received by a new generation.
I didn't know the actress playing " Alice" the Q's house keeper had died. Wow...
I remember those funny episodes when Alice was smitten with Luke:) so funny and back when the writing was everything and the characters were well developed with awesome suspenseful storylines.......unlike now.
I loved her scenes with Tracy, they were comical
Mr. Damon will always be "Prince Charming" to this 1960's "kid", who would eagerly wait the yearly broadcast of Cinderella (with the wonderful, beautiful Lesley Anne Warren) back in those magical days. So sad to see that he, and so many of the GH actors and actresses from the 60's. 70's and 80's, have passed on this year.

That's why she seemed familiar. I've been watching the GH episodes from the beginning years of Luke and Laura, and I knew that I had seen her somewhere before.

I still can't believe they didn't do a monument episode(s) for Stuart like they did for John Reilly.
i think the difference is john's character was not killed off on the show until john passed away in real life, unlike stuart's character who was killed off and they did do a monument episode when the character died. plus he came back as a ghost in future episode that include monica and tracy.
@@lisadelpeche3371 There are still ways to do a memorial episode for Stuart Damon. If anyone deserves it, he does.
What really gets me in regards to both of them, is how new viewers have absolutely no idea how important those characters were. And sometimes they don't even know who they were. I no longer watch GH, but I was there for the big times with Alan and Sean. I have two family members that currently watch and I sometimes try to explain things to them and Allen and Sean are completely lost on them. I just shake my head. How could two characters that are so important be nothing more than passing names?
@@Farr50 Alan was killed in 2007 one one of the worst decisions GH ever made.....and what is worse is SD had so much more to give and contribute before he passed
I will always remember Stuart Damon as the Rodgers and Hammerstein prince in Cinderella from the 60's tv special.

@@iReporteriReporting WOW, I have an early memory of watching GH with my mom when it was still black & white. The story was a young lady with diabetes. Mom never watched it when she found out it is a soap! So, 1978!
How could so many actors and actresses from the same soap opera who all ranged in age, die in the same year. It is amazing. I wonder how many of those deaths were Covid related.

I only remembered Sean Donnelly, Alan Quarter maine and a couple other performers, but Thank You for your time spent working on my Favorite GH soap opera.
The 54-year-old actor Paolo Calissano recently passed away here in Italy. He also participated in some episodes of General Hospital.
Man , I knew a lot of the cast died last year, but my god , I didn't know it was that many, damn, General Hospital can't catch a break

The Black actor that played Brian, Scotty's friend , in the early 80s, passed some years ago.
Time marching along, never stopping. Sometimes marching with folks, sometimes over folks, sometimes around folks. The only thing that is constant...it never stops.

I still watch sometimes but something broke in me when Stuart Damon was fired like he was of no signficance.....back in 07...RIP to everybody remember liking John Reilly/Sean alot also OReilly/Bille Hayes etc

Poor Lisabeth Hush, got stuck using a scene from MST3K...but it was a great bit on MST3K. I grew up watching General Hospital. I cried when John Reilly and Stuart Damon died.

Guza destroyed the Quartermains; I hated watching Alan’s role diminished. Still loved him and kept hoping he and his sons would reconcile

Tony Geary will always be my favorite! They killed him off? I haven't watched in several years if they have any sense the writers will bring him back. Had no idea Micheal Tylo was gone too. Thanks for the tribute. Stuart Damon added humor and was part of one of the best storylines in the 1980s.
@@yvonnecooper5494 Tony Geary left the show several years ago but the character continued to be occasionally mentioned. A storyline on Luke's recent death started last week, ostensibly killed in a cable car accident in Amsterdam but Victor Cassidine is involved.

Allan should had never gave that house to Monica was thinking Monica should give the house to Michael so that joke can continue Alice and Frank are about the only two that I remember,, caught a little bit of Sean then we had no VCR at that time,, started watching GH mainly when OJ trial started after two days of OJ I cut the cable and never went back, just was regular TV and recorded shows lived in a rural area only had 4 channels we started watching soaps to have something new to watch after the Seasons ended for the other shows
