But there is various evidence presented that allows you to consider some compelling rationale of where different Pokemon could end up depending on how you interpret the in game information.

With your comparison of 2D to 3D you are naively acting like no dialogue is a retro rather than aesthetic choice. Whereas my original point you'll notice was entirely related to gameplay and story, which unnecessary dialogue would hinder. Its not like characters dont verbalise in any way, or like the entire cutscene at the beginning wasnt fully voice acted.

They already made the God of Pokemon 2 generations ago, and that same generation's team was team Galactic. Based on some story stuff in X/Y and Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire, I'm actually thinking they're starting to care more about the actual stories, so I hope that starts to be where they put more focus.
