Which of hymns sounds off?
@@hearandplay your singing the hymns right but the chords don't go with the singing! When you stop singing I should know what the hymn is!
@1THETUFFGUY okay, there are two sides to harmony:
1. Harmonization
2. Accompaniment
When we harmonize, the melody notes are played on top using inversions that put such melody notes on top.
What was covered in the video is accompaniment; where a group of melody notes are accompanied by a chord.
If you listen to your favorite songs, you’ll hear the musicians providing chordal accompaniment. They don’t necessarily put the melody note on top.
All the hymns listed don’t have the same melody. Consequently, they can’t be harmonized the same way.
But in terms of accompaniment, there’s a lot to learn when it comes to their first few bars.
