Woooooow exactly, after some careful consideration I realised how much more my help will be needed in this spiritual revolution rather than treating obese pets and carrying out daily castrations, gap year needed and we back on the grind ;)
Hey emma, for me it’s the same, can you write to me? I’d love to talk to someone that studies neuroscience and is interested in the same topics I’m interested.
I smoked 1-3 packs of cigarettes daily for 12 years and was an alcoholic... Every time I tried to quit smoking, drinking would bring me back... Every time I tried to quit drinking, smoking would bring me back... I knew I wasn’t able to quit both, but I desperately needed to, as my habits were not only taking up my time and money, they were killing me... Two years ago, someone dosed me with a very very high dosage of liquid LSD (10 hits+/-) against my knowledge and will... I’d never taken LSD before and was terrified... Something wonderful happened during my 17+ hour trip... The next day, I no longer wanted to drink... I no longer NEEDED to drink... Not needing alcohol allowed me to eventually quit smoking, and I’m happy to say that I’m over 1 year cigarette-free...
Good for you, but what an irresponsible thing to do by whoever did this to you. I'm glad it worked out well but it could be potentially crushing experience.
Wow. I have done acid once and it was a great experience. I remember the initial euphoria that came on with the trip and how liberating it all felt like I could finally let go of the unecessary baggage I was carrying but Soo enough my shame and fear all came knocking down on me after the sheath of my narcissistic self image fell to the ground from then onward I had extreme anxiety which I generally suffer with, as trip proceeded I was extremely terrified grossly confused and perplexed and thought my boyfriend was God and I was living in his world and I also had strong hallucinations that completely left me in a non-functional state. But still I would say the positive effects it laid out for me seemed to be extremely helpful or rather I say a lot of positives in my behavior I believe are a consequence to that trip. But yes I would definitely like to expunge the benefits of acid wholly and for that I need some kind of guidance of advice so I can reap the positives out of it completely. It would be really amazing if I could have some guidance on how to actually relax and enjoy and utilize the psychedelic opportunity.
The next 10 years are really exciting and unpredictable, in all aspects, politically, economically, ecologically, psychologically, and spiritually. What a time to be alive 😄
Don't forget technologically! That's the single most interesting thing happening of the next 10 years, the rate of technological advancements. Look at how quickly AI has advanced.

Yeah, drugs really aren't "bad" by themselves. But if misused like any drugs, they can wreak havoc on a person's mind and body, and of course communities suffering from too much poverty. The key is education and making sure the parameters are set for people to take these substances in safe settings at doses they can handle. :)
Sabrina .C , Your perspective will always change every time someone tells you something because you’re a sheeple (sheep like) people. Try thinking for yourself all the time. Am I being to harsh and judgmental?
@@MissMarinaCapri if what you say is true, we are all sheeple. You weren't born with knowledge or understanding. So apply your words to yourself, as they are equally true in your case, and you tell us if you think them too harsh.
This needs to be approved immediately. As someone who has been a sort of guide for many different people during their experiences, I really wish that some of my friends could do this in a true clinical setting. Even without training, I've been able to help people improve their lives by guiding them through hard experiences; I can only imagine how much more profound the effects would be with trained professionals. I've got a friend with PTSD; he was in Iraq and then was shot in the US after coming home from his deployment. He's gone through many different traditional psychotherapy sessions with minimal results. Right now he medicates with Marijuana and is basically stoned 24/7 because he can't cope with the fear. He had some psychological issues prior his PTSD and I am sure that he would benefit from these types of therapies. Also, my uncle was recently murdered in front of my aunt. She would also benefit hugely from this type of therapy. Too many people are suffering to worry about whether or not they choose to put a plant or chemical in their body. The priorities of our society need to be amended to help these individuals.
@@onlyparadise7715 amazing in one sense and pretty stupid in another. Too often our society outlaws something because it's inconvenient to the narrative of some politician or party. Psychedelics allow people to view the world without subjectivity and bias and honestly can't imagine how many people would benifit from even just one experience.
May I ask what your method is while being a guide? This aspect of psychedelics has also intruiged me and id love to have the opportunity to have a guide one day.
@@bayleymacintosh5622 its hard to explain since it depends on a ton of factors; type of medicine, what type of experience they want to have, whether or not the environment is safe etc. I've had so much experience with this kind of thing and I think that is the most important component. And because of the nature of these chemicals, you kind of have to be really flexible since a recreational experience can turn into a therapeutic one and visa-versa. In some instances, you just need to be there just in case something happens and in other instances, you want to keep your distance. Its really all about showing compassion and also playing therapist when the need calls for it. Learning how to ground someone who is having a panic attack and learning how to sift through different difficult topics, that kind of thing. You also have to consider the medicine since some chemicals like DMT are extremely introspective to a point where you can't intervene much once the experience starts.

Some of the most profound experiences I have ever had were on LSD and Psilocybin, have been connected to parts of my consciousness that I would never have, been enlightened to and made aware of seemingly impossible levels of joy, compassion, empathy, and introspection, and I am a more well rounded person mentally and spiritually than I would have been otherwise. The war on drugs is a sham.

The more I trawl the more I see how so many ideas are similar or people that have them are. Metal music, psychedelics, bitcoin. Love the Slayer jpeg brother.
I've always found the mystical claims around hallucinogens to be specious. I'm absolutely certain that they describe a subjective experience that those who claim them had. I have no reason to pooh-pooh those experiences. However, there's sometimes an unwillingness to consider that those experiences might, in fact, be conditioned responses when there's been an entire culture built up around psychedelics for decades. Within a certain range of physical, biological and perceptual responses to a substance, i strongly suspect the brain finds a way to process and react to the temporary changes in neurochemistry that's probably very informed by your expectations and the language you have at your fingertips to explain what you are experiencing. Ultimately all psychedelic experience must be neurochemical. The kind of claim that irks me most are those that most resemble religion or spiritual experiences. See for example "aliens" and "ego-death" in DMT or Ayahuasca trip reports. (I have tried psilocybin, salvia, MDMA and ketamine in my younger years. I would again in the right circumstances but want the science to develop more.)

Psilocybin, LSD, Marijuana, MDMA, and DMT have changed my perspective about life and my past trauma. They have shown me a light and love that I forgot always existed inside of me. I began meditating more, practicing mindfulness in my interactions with others, reading more, forgiving more, loving more. Psychedelics motivated me to change majors, so that I can become a therapist and help heal others with the assistance of these substances. I’m recreating my universe and life is so beautiful. My love and knowledge continues to grow. Thank you Rick Doblin for being a pioneer in this field and paving the way for all of us who wish to change this world through the magic of psychedelics. Much love to all beings ✨❤️✨
Thanks to psychedelics I’ve overcome eating disorders, fell in love w life, appreciate and acknowledge the energies within this reality, they offered me deep spiritual connections w loved ones who I took them w at the time, I don’t see any trips as bad, I learned a lot bc of them and expressed parts of me that needed to release. I struggle daily and wish it was legal everywhere, wish I could get the proper psychedelics to microdose bc they absolutely help w my healing. I’m diagnosed bpd and adhd and all my life was trauma and abuse, the fact I’m here is literally partly bc of those experiences I had and how they positively affected me❤️

Don’t forget: Set and Setting! These can be powerful drugs and if you are full of demons, don’t be surprised if you end up unwillingly having to face them.
@Gareth Sheals In the right set and setting and with a conscious integration afterwards, no matter how difficult it gets, it will be for your growth. But one big thing is to be comfortable with who is conducting. I had a few ayahuasca cerimonies with shaman masters from the rainforest, and some of them were VERY challenging, but as they are very experienced and pass a lot of confidence, I was comfortable surrendering to the experience
Gareth Sheals If you tend to overreact to stimulus in general then you'll probably react stronger to an uncomfortable experience. If you're safe then you're fine.

I love psychedelics, those experiences are the most profound experiences ive ever had and for certain ever will have! You cant do anything in youre life that is more astonishing. It gives me apprechiation for what i have in my life and i just want to see a sunset or sunrise, so i can be the happiest person on earth. And you want to share this good feeling it provides you with every person you know. Its very sad, unnecessary and utterly stupid that strangers i do not know, can forbid me to have such experience. How is this possible in a free society? Makes no sense. We need to change this! I wish more people could feel these feelings i had and see the world with a new and fresh view. Humanity needs the help from those sacred plants. We are lost in a deep jungle full of distraction and hate!
This is exactly how I felt after mdma. It made me so utterly appreciative of life but also sad because I just saw how in pain everyone is and how everyone should do mdma lol!
Can’t do anything more astonishing in your life ? Done psychedelics before and I would argue there are some things that are equally as astonishing in life: falling in love, losing a loved one, hitting rock bottom and bouncing back, great success, great failure, and most importantly listening to Tangled Up In Blue.

Patrick Robbins ...These people (Madmen) chop real human being's minds into little pieces, chew em' up & spit em' out & then call for another subject while the cemetery grows rapidly out back with ruined lives and death. Sick people convincing the unknowing that playing with the minds and lives of others and their families too, is "OK". They are the one's, these Madmen are, who need lobotomized, shock therapy, removal from society to alleviate the dangers they create.

Really fascinating talk. Excited to see where this renaissance of psychedelic research takes us. On a side note, I think what Alan Watts said about LSD is great to keep in mind in light of all this: "Psychedelic experience is only a glimpse of genuine mystical insight, but a glimpse which can be matured and deepened by the various ways of meditation in which drugs are no longer necessary or useful. If you get the message, hang up the phone."

I really appreciate all the work that is done for advancing mankind in a new frontier of consciousness. I can really see the benefits for so many people including psychedelics into our medicine and common understanding of how our brain, our consciousness and our psyche functions. As a social worker i hope i can integrate the lessons and help some individuals on their way of living a better life (in their own eyes), because i can see that for many people with heavy, long addictions (e.g. heroin, cocaine, alcohol) this could be a solution and not just a symptomatic fight. Spread the knowledge and insights, and stop biases and propaganda of old misleaded drug policies.

I have used Ayahuasca to assist me on my own healing journey & I am excited to be a part of helping clients discover a more direct path to healing.
An interesting take as someone who was schizoaffective during my heavy psychedelic usage, I think it's honestly possible to use large psychedelic doses to bring you to a place where you could rewire your brain. My mind-chatter would go away for months at a time. I also, in my journey, had this feeling of wanting to be able to fully control the psychedelic trip and I ultimately did, finding out that you can use this to boost your acuity, expand both your fluid and crystalized intelligence very dramatically, and also have an easier time making yourself feel a certain way like how placebo, hypochondria, and energy healing do

I have to say that psilocybin and LSD are completely unique substances. I, as a clinical psychologist, never interested in Yoga in my life until the event I took huge dose of psilocybin. During the trip I somehow "remembered" how to perform Yoga. The first time in my life I performed Yoga for over an hour in a park while under the effect of psilocybin. This miracle happened 5 months ago but also I had so hard time comprehending what's going on really. After a long consideration I started to upload on TH-cam (I am still very amateur but whenever I take psychedelics I am able to remember more and more from my past life. )
This is extremely important and brilliant. So happy for those living with PTSD who overcame their trauma and grew. I deeply hope more people can benefit and more research is done.
Psychedelics can be so beneficial when used correctly. If everyone came to this realization, we could change the world for the better. The world could use a lot more love, psychedelics can show us that. They do show us this. Dissolution of your ego and barriers is the key. To making the world a better place. If you don’t know what I mean by this, do yourself, and ultimately everyone you love and everyone you don’t a favor and try some psychedelics. Psychedelics can teach you to be a better person.
I was 35 and had a near fatal car wreck that left me disabled for life. I became homeless because I couldn't take care of things and was suffering from major depression. 30 years later I'm not homeless, yet, and still suffer from PTSD and severe depression. Why on Earth are they pushing opioids and antidepressants that don't help, but I can't find help using psychedelics, even here in Colorado where it's legal? Yes, the pharma companies are afraid we well get better and put them out of business.
I'm afraid it is not. Forming other sorts of societies or changing the way a lot of people have to live today could probably be of some help, but drugs will not become any sorta answer in a greater scale. They sometimes do help on a very personal level though. And we should tryna help decriminalizing psychotropes asap, of course.

@Gareth Sheals I don't believe there is such a thing as a bad trip. A bad trip is usually you having to face things that have subconciousally been bothering you. I would say 90% of people benefit from it but there are a select few who can't take it. Start at 3.5 grams of pscilocybe cubensis(dry, 35 grams fresh) and work your way up to 6 grams. I love 6 grams in my room with no sound or light laying in bed naked lol in a half dream state. Start at the recommended dose and do it in a comfortable place with good friends the first time.
There are databases online to find out about current clinical studies in all medical fields including psychiatry. They always include location and volunteering information. Some can only be enrolled in through specific doctors if you are an established patient with them. (Often true for cancer and terminal illnesses) This probably isn't often the case with outpatient psychiatry, however. Even so, you would want your current psychiatrist to be willing to work with the clinical trial. Be aware that it is very possible that clinical trials are not happening in your area. Psychedelic therapy is still in the research phase (not drug approval phase) with possible the exception of ketamine for treatment -resistant depression. That means there aren't as many MDs involved and study groups tend to be smaller.

I need this so much, I’m 37, my brother died when I was 13 and to this day I suffer immensely, I remember waving him goodbye, for the last time, never entered the room, he was in a special room because of aerial disease transmission, something like that, to this day that image haunts me, everyday, it hurts so much, I never overcame his loss and now as an adult I admit I drink more than I should, I smoke a lot, and the thoughts of my brother in the casket, in the cemetery, and after that going to school and cry every class, every recess. I started writing and learning music and it helped for a while, but now, at 37 I’m still in pain. Oh boy, I would love to try this so much :(

If someone wanted to pursue a career in this kind of field what would be the best route to go? Going to school for Psychotherapy maybe? Maybe neuroscience? I just have had countless trips that have changed my life and feel like these are tools that could help with a lot of problems our society faces today. Also helping people is my passion. Why not combine the two together?? This is my calling...
I have the same question! Im so confused, but Psychedelics are such a taboo topic it’s hard to discuss this openly with people around me! I hope you find your way 🙏🌀
Another way to experience this without psychedelic, well assume that you an outdoor person, is climb the top of the mountain before sunrise. Then watch that sunrise while drink some tea. I promise that you get the same effect. The issue is that our brain think too much, by release the stress through physical workout, and then relax it through good warm tea and the awesomeness of something out of your control will provide a person with the same clarity. Well using psychedelic work great only if you have some expert help you which is not an issue, but if you similar to me who is both outdoor and don't want administer drug, I don't like anything that change my brain chemical, then that something I recommend. However, Rick Doblin is doing great work, and I do hope that more Rick out there who care about human mental health.
As a fan of both of these activities, I think you're wrong. The experiences, while similar in producting oxytocin, dopamine etc, are not the same, and no, you don't need an expert to have psychedelics work "great". Is it preferable your first time? Sure. But not after and I've known plenty of people who disappeared up a mountain with some shrooms and found exactly what they were looking for alone.
I would like to see how this all relates to someone who is on SSRI/SNRI antidepressants, and how it affects the brain as compared to the affects of MDMA on the brain. I’m pretty sure SSRI and SNRI, because they stop the reuptake of seratonin and MDMA don’t work together because MDMA does the opposite?

I grew up in the 70'-80's. I remember doing a quarter of a dose of Windowpane LSD. It was one of the most profound nights of my life. I never slept as my mind kept coming up with reasons to see the good in humanity. I could use a boost.😀 I'd love to participate in a clinical study for geriatrics. I'll sign the waiver.

My favorite book is Aldux Huxley’s “the Island.” Just read, “ from the Outside In.” All this is related. The first is a view of how the future could be with microdoses used to open awareness. He came up with this idea so long ago. The 2nd book is about how Dr Leary actually developed LSD 25 and its initial trials.
Haha 🤣 the more negativity I see in the replies tells me more and more that these guys were so on point with their messages that it’s hilarious. How many of you read either of those books. Raise your hands? 🖐 No one....

Amazing that humanity is getting their act together and start realising this medicine have helped mankind for thousands of years, and indeed DO have a medicinal value. For 40+ years many people had to suffer in vain in the name of double moral. But now finally the world is awakening. Psychedelics are the reason I'm studying neuroscience. I hope to be a part of a revolution in this field.

I'm glad it worked out well but it could be potentially crushing experience.

ya... the universe is strange...
Strange someone would dose you so high for a first time (generally 1-2 hits is best practice)
That's awesome! I've been trying to get my mom to quit drinking, now I know how! I'll come back tomorrow and let you know how it went!

This has definitely changed my perspective on drugs. It's not necessarily bad but rather substance abuse and misuse that gives it a bad rep.
Yeah, drugs really aren't "bad" by themselves. But if misused like any drugs, they can wreak havoc on a person's mind and body, and of course communities suffering from too much poverty. The key is education and making sure the parameters are set for people to take these substances in safe settings at doses they can handle. :)
Sabrina .C So many people could learn from your comment. If everyone had the same revelation ,we could change the world for the better.
Sabrina .C , Your perspective will always change every time someone tells you something because you’re a sheeple (sheep like) people. Try thinking for yourself all the time. Am I being to harsh and judgmental?
WC and to push agendas :)
Abeltensor its amazing that so many people have been suffering for long & something we’ve had since forever might be the answer.

It was about time, ancient civilizations already knew this hundreds years a go.

Kyle Gast I wanna try it but idk how well I’ll handle it since I’ve dealt with depression general and social anxiety and ptsd for about a decade now. I can’t live like this so I’m betting it’s still a better option to completely giving up
Which is why education and research is all that more important to have on these substances ! :)

I also, in my journey, had this feeling of wanting to be able to fully control the psychedelic trip and I ultimately did, finding out that you can use this to boost your acuity, expand both your fluid and crystalized intelligence very dramatically, and also have an easier time making yourself feel a certain way like how placebo, hypochondria, and energy healing do
They saved my life on one occasion that also changed my life. It was a true spirit journey and was intense. I even spoke to dead relatives.
I'm glad those decades of hard work will save more lives now!

The story of Tony is really very touching. I'm really happy to see these developments. There's so much potential power in the use of psychedelic drugs.
Thank you, thank you so much for your great work, Rick! You are instrumental in Humanity’s progress towards Righteousness. This is evidence of our increasing victory over Evil.

My heart is bursting...what a gift to humanity he is! I am convinced that most of us who saw and felt the love experienced through psychedelics are linked. This connection is stronger than any external structure forced on us. Maybe that is why psychedelics and peaceful marijuana are (still) so combatted against by those who are stuck in the shoots and ladders game of our pyramidal structures. Their mind is divorced from the heart.
Excellent!! Thank you for your persistence and your efforts in this amazing treatment!!🙏🙏🙏

After a long consideration I started to upload on TH-cam (I am still very amateur but whenever I take psychedelics I am able to remember more and more from my past life. )
this guy is truly a hero. MAPS is doing INCREDIBLY important work.
Justin Akers so true. I have such great hope for the future.
This is the answer to mental health problems around the world.

I didn’t have a strong belief system and always thought I was alone in life until I took a heroic dose of shrooms. Best decision I’ve made. Never did it again though lol
Few do. Big doses of psilocybin or LSD can be life changing but most don't want to do it again.
casablanca bell same. Did it once, never again but it did change my life. I used to have crippling anxiety, with that uneasy feeling in my throat that started in my early childhood. After that once in a lifetime experience (emphasis added) it just disappeared and never came back. That was years ago.
"Heroic dose.". Terence McKenna!
Mushies for life
@Gareth Sheals I don't believe there is such a thing as a bad trip.
The potential is beyond amazing.
Where does one with PTSD etc go to participate in such a study?
Love this vid. Psychedelics are the future
Just took 2 grams of shrooms last night by myself. They kick in about an hour and it comes out of know where. First your body feels amazing to get this good shrooms follow sure plug on Instagram @mycoroland

Oh boy, I would love to try this so much :(
Hope you can get access to this treatment or something else that helps, wish you the best man!

It's not even close
As a fan of both of these activities, I think you're wrong. The experiences, while similar in producting oxytocin, dopamine etc, are not the same, and no, you don't need an expert to have psychedelics work "great". Is it preferable your first time? Sure. But not after and I've known plenty of people who disappeared up a mountain with some shrooms and found exactly what they were looking for alone.
I would like to see how this all relates to someone who is on SSRI/SNRI antidepressants, and how it affects the brain as compared to the affects of MDMA on the brain. I’m pretty sure SSRI and SNRI, because they stop the reuptake of seratonin and MDMA don’t work together because MDMA does the opposite?
marina kasparov that's a really good question!
Seratonin isnt the problem
Taking loads about md and chatting about my problems would be fun
What!? A real TED Talk?
Straight up one not pushing social justice and pedophila.
Gona be banned soon lol
Beautiful. Rick Doblin is a culture hero.

Rick Doblin is one of the most important voices in this conversation
Mushrooms saved me from problems of life honestly. They help me see the beauty life holds and made me realize how dumb it would be to take myself out

Best psychedelic dealer have ever deal with
I grew up in the 70'-80's.
More of this please

Beautiful work Rivk Doblin is doing. May it expand and heal a lot of people
My favorite book is Aldux Huxley’s “the Island.” Just read, “ from the Outside In.” All this is related. The first is a view of how the future could be with microdoses used to open awareness. He came up with this idea so long ago. The 2nd book is about how Dr Leary actually developed LSD 25 and its initial trials.
Leary also worked for the CIA
Haha 🤣 the more negativity I see in the replies tells me more and more that these guys were so on point with their messages that it’s hilarious. How many of you read either of those books. Raise your hands? 🖐
No one....
But it was Hoffman that developed it, Leary just experimented with it.
@@TutiFruity7103 the island is a great book. Reminds me that I need to read it again.
I have no idea where that above fifty percent came from, but that was one of the nicest things I've heard in years.

Amazing that humanity is getting their act together and start realising this medicine have helped mankind for thousands of years, and indeed DO have a medicinal value. For 40+ years many people had to suffer in vain in the name of double moral. But now finally the world is awakening. Thank you Mr Doblin for not giving up, and that you have kept the compass straight. There is hope for millions suffering from PTSD, and a wide range of psychiatric illnesses and conditions.
