Great lesson Johnny. Magic Sam lessons are hard to find. Really appreciate the breakdown, and especially ,
,how you illustrate the feel and tone of Sam’s playing. Really appreciate what you offer.and your deep knowledge of blues.

Man, to me anymore the onliest way is to play with bare fingers. Even if I am playing out there things with a bunch of effects on it (rare but I do now and then to knock the wax out my ears, q tips just don't git all that wax though). Now I guess I had better teach the people how to holler with the right amount of pain like Magic Sam. You literally gotta feel it in your kidneys, like they are about to give out, and shout like your SOUL is hanging in the balance. There. That is my lesson. Love you man. All my love to your favorite ladies (you know the ones) as well. I always love the stuff you post so well!

@@JohnnyBurginBlues Yes! Reggie Boyd had a flat pick and Magic Slim, as you "iterated" in the "Wonder Why" lesson you posted too, had that thumbpick too though. Now, if you wanna do a really good police siren for an intro to your version of "Gangster Of Love" like JGW did in that killer ass footage they got on him somewhere on here from the seventies, you need a drumstick. Just make sure you bring your own or give it back to the drummer when you're done with it. Something about "Hey bruh I matched that pair up special and you just gone WALK off with my shit??? Nuh uh!!" 😂

Every night and every day. It's a minor thing going on but can't quite figure it out. You know Magic Sam better than most, please give us all a clue. A British fan.

Did Magic Sam regularly tune down 1/2 a step? Curious why the E flat key is all.
