Just sold my 1999 Toyota Chaser Tourer V JZX100 Series II 'Grand Package' in 047 Crystal White.
As a momento i have made this video talking about the car, the things i learnt, the changes i made, some common issues/problems with the 1JZ-GTE and hopefully you learn something from this video.
Sorry about the wind noise. Filmed on OnePlus 7 Pro.

I didn't even know that the tourer v had this interior as an option :O. Im looking into getting a jzx110 for 2020, really excited for it.
Yep, optional extra to have the interior trims from the Grande GX100. Personally its way nicer than the standard JZX100 cloth and trim.
Those have great interiors too 🤙🏻 be half the price of a 100 as well
x110 is mark II btw.

hey man looking into buying a jzx100 sometime soon, would you say they are reliable enough to daily drive? Would be buying a good condition mk2 with somewhat low ks
Yep it's a Toyota at the end of the day. Very easy to daily drive if they're stock with light mods. But if you start making them loud and slamming them well then it's on personal preference whether that's annoying to daily or not. In which mine was so I had a GS300 I daily drove, kept the ks down too.
motors are strong as but the seals arnt so strong especially on low km ones as they have sat for years and have become brittle. Not a major though just rocker cover cam and front main seals is what I had to do on mine and was sweet as, definitely better than a internal problem which u won't get as long as you look after it with regular oil changes. As long as you look after them and keep mantance up you will never have problems and there a dream to daily but can be expensive if your boosting everywhere. but no you won't get random problems like rb engines every 5 minutes lol

What cars are you comparing this to if you think this chaser has a large trunk ?? A bmw isetta ?? That trunk is tiny!

if you have audacity, you can get take the audio from this video and highlight the sound of the wind and remove all instances of wind noise from your video. just letting you know cause the wind was pretty bad lol
Well aware. This is from like 7 years ago shot on my phone. Have a GoPro with with proper anti wind mic on it now.

Nope. Fuel tank is behind the rear seats. Most people get roof racks instead for these.

Unplugging the sensor that gives you the ''dose sound'' is an expensive one if you have money to replace turbos every time you damage them from doing this. (The compressed air gets pushed back out through the turbo blades, which gives off that ''dose sound'') will damage turbos over time.
No issues in the 3 years I had it 😂

I work for Toyota Australia so I just looked them up for myself and ordered them. If you give me a VIN number I can provide part numbers for you to take to your local Toyota Dealer and order. Most dealers push away imports in Australia but I'm happy to take on imported parts enquiries.

owned for 3 years. You get over it as soon as you step into anything semi modern. Loving my IS F, its a better daily, track car, just all round a better car for almost the same money, and never have to worry about police.

Wish toyota make these cars again with same style quality I really need toyota like this they need to stop making cheap cars now and go back to high quality toyota uses make good cars even the cheap models were built to last. Now its crap.
I work for Toyota Australia, now that most models are moving production back to Japan (i.e. Camry) the quality is actually better. The models in the Japanese market currently are some of the best cars in the world right now. Maybe in you're country they aren't great, but here in Australia most are great quality built cars. Also from owning a Chaser, or any old car for that matter, you'll find that time kills quality regardless of how good its made, mine was certainly showing its age behind the scenes.

@@JC94 thanks for reply! cool do i need an adaptor for them to plug into the harness? i have a tourer v with the standard interior black n blue with carbon trim it has fake vinyl carbon fibre shift boot cover and e brake cover but the trims are real but they fade to yellow and can crack and stuff so you have to take care of them but i like it more
ahhh see ive never not seen a faded yellow one which doesnt look great. I can imagine they looked amazing when new.
Well when i got it, it already had a JVC unit in it so someone in Japan had already wired it up perhaps, since my Sony one with Carplay/AndroidAuto plugged straight up, 5min job. Someone had also previously wired up a HKS Speed Limit Defencer (removes the 180kmph limiter) as it plugged in straight away and it wasnt meant to so yeah mine had been fiddled with in Japan before i got it so i cant really help with wiring. JZX mechanical on Fb is the way to go.
@@JC94 yea some people like the yellow look but yea it looks nice new you can get it re clear coated and fixes this. ah ok I will probably need a harness adaptor or just re wire it to the new deck i guess. thanks
