There is something about the way UVI records thier samples. The positioning of the mics and rooms etc. It just sounds so much better than many other libraries out there. I also love the way thier samples cut through. Their samples never gets Lost in a mix.

After I bought Falcon and a few libraries I can say without a doubt UVI's libraries and interface outshines Kontakt in every way. Just the sheer speed and memory optimization alone are enough to choose Uvi over kontakt.

That's good to hear because I ditched anything with the word Kontakt associated with it & decided that I would simply eliminate those libraries from my work.
Maybe I'll take advantage of the sale for the UVI though I'm not that impressed with the sound on YT - but they compress the crap out of everything so there's that. The harp sounds pretty good though.

Excellent. Any idea how the Taiko and Timpani drums sound?

Great video ! I have a little question, would it be possible to play several notes in legato at the same time ?

Decent and good value library to begin with. The first thing to complete is a better choir which in my case would be 8Dio Lacrimosa. If you're beginning in orchestral sounding music I'd advise to use such a library or if you don't want to spend a dime use VSCO2 which is free but has worst quality (up to you to see and use that). Buying such library doesn't carve things in stone so do not hesitate to use it and step into orchestral. Then when you feel more proficient and think your needs grew bigger you can change to better libraries. Just consider this: if you're not able to properly use this, will you properly use the same kind of software in the more expensive range? Should you not be able to, better be sorry for 200 bucks (until June 26th there is a discount so it is even cheaper) or several thousands bucks should you buy the equivalent on 8Dio for instance? Most people I watch using this library does not seem to use it convincingly and I won't blame them because I wouldn't be able to right now. Like everything you need to practice and learn. This is not a library aimed at Hans Zimmer's or Vivaldi's but just people like you and me.

Please! Can I use this with Logic PRO X??
    Thank You!

Sure. Just through the free UVI Workstation or Falcon components inside Logic.

Actually any Roland sample player from XV onwards can sound like that.

Does the legato function to the left of the choirs and strings for example, eliminate the slight delay before the sample plays?
Are some of the ensembles made sound "bigger" when layered?

Downside to this and most similar software is that you've got to piss about with a mouse to change your sounds
I'm looking for something that supports program changes .
I've asked UVI and they've basically said no
The only way to change a sound is with a mouse or keyboard and hit the enter button. Shame really as I'd have bought it

It is an Arturia Keylab Black Edition. I have just the same. I have the Keylab 49 Black Edition. I like this keyboard for how it looks and because it has a lot of controls but be aware of one thing. The transport buttons do not work if you use MIDI connectivity. On USB everything works fine. There was a second wave of Black Edition and I hope they fixed the issue but on mine I unfortunately can't use my transport keys. I'd give a go on Native Instruments site if you want a MIDI controller that has plenty of controls.

This library is not worth the money in my opinion. Some of the sounds are good but overall it sounds toyish. I think they tried to cram too much into it.

      Hello Henrik,
...just a casual observer here, and at first listen, I hear what you are hearing (to a degree)
Is there another 'overall/all-in-one' orchestral suite you would recommend over this particular offering?
As a project studio owner, price-point is a consideration, but would spend more if the 'toyishness' could be overcome..(within reason $-wise)
      Thanks , -Steve

At that price point I think it's difficult. But overall I don't find UVI Orchestral Suite any better than the sounds that comes with Logic for example. It's the only UVI product I've been truly disappointed in (was too quick to pick it up). Sonivox Film Score Companion would be a better pick for the money in my opinion. It isn't super expressive but it has a much better sound than UVI. In fact I frequently use Companion Strings over more high end libraries because of its beautiful sound. Though it is more suited for rock/pop orchestration rather than film/game scoring.
I would suggest picking up different products when they are on sale. VST Buzz have some great solo winds on sale right now for example. They had a terrific brass library on sale recently as well. Great string libraries often go on sale. You'll end up spending a bit more in the end but on the other hand you'll have libraries that you will be happy with for a long time.
I usually don't recommend subscription services, but if you will use sample libraries on a regular basis and don't have much already I think EastWest Composer Cloud is a compelling option. If you are a student or teacher it will run you $15/month otherwise $25/month for a yearly subscription. And it will give you access to more high end sample libraries than you'll ever use.
If you only want a couple of their products they do have sales on a regular basis. Even their Silver version of Hollywood Orchestra is of far better quality than the UVI suite.

I've been scouring through demos of this... And while this seems to be the best sounding... At most times, this plugin mostly sounds like MIDI presets from the early 2000s.
The price point will attract a lot of new users. But it's not comparable to things like Spitfire, LASS, Albion, or Strezov's new library.
I'm happy to know I'm not the only one not impressed by this one. It's too bad, because the GUI looks nice and intuitive as well.

Love your keyboard demos but this wasn't good. You are approaching orchestral instruments like you are playing an electric piano. You also need to learn how to use the library, you are missing a bunch pf keyswitches and unique features.

      D. Corso I'm looking into this software. Any videos you would recommend on how to use it? And what is pf keyswitches? Thanks!

      D. Corso Well I’m happy he did it, gave me a nice little overview of what it includes. Maybe you could make such a video yourself where you properly play the instruments how they were intented to be played, including the all the keyswitch expressions. I’d love to see that. I see your point but am happy he did it anyway, it’s better than nothing for now.
