    Wow, I can’t believe how intact the kitchen was in the farmhouse. The paint was the same…even the cabinet where Book put the gun back behind the canned goods was still there.

    Witness is one of my all time favorite movies!! I live in NY but have visited Amish country, Intercourse and Bird in Hand, PA many times. It's just as beautiful in real life as it is in the movie. In one visit we stayed in a B&B and every morning we were awakened by the clipity clop of horses pulling buggies! It's like going back in time!

    Love the video Charlie, Witness is my favorite movie, two things I would have loved to have seen in your video are still shots of the movie in all of the locations you visited to see the actual before & after effects, and if the barn is still around where John Book (Harrison Ford) was helping the Amish assemble in the movie, anyways thank you so much, really enjoyed your video

    1985? Where has the time gone. Good video. I still like watching the movie. Good acting directing and no CG images. It amazes me how this film is put together and released. The barn and silo scene looked very real even though the silo was a prop. The shooting scene at the end was cool. The trap door scene was a great idea. And when Book punches the wise ass tourist fit the movie just right. I have been to Lancaster many times and it still amazes me that the Amish way of life continues. I admire these folks. I am almost 70 and I hate to see Harrison and myself get older.

    Thank you Charlie, this is really great! Much appreciated! I need to watch it again. Witness is one of my favorite movies! When you were in the barn and I saw the combine, I thought: maybe the people there are Mennonite or new order Amish of a particular church district. Then I saw the pickup, and another car in the driveway, and the enclosed trailer, etc. This was great!

    The scene where they were at the restaurant eating hotdogs was filmed at 13th and Locust. The scene was filmed on May 4, 1984 which was a Friday. The same day a section of the Gallery caught fire.

    He states, at least 3 or 4 times, "this is where he fights the 'Tourist'". Tourist?? The guy he fights, or beats up, is most definitely supposed to be a local townie, a local bully, NOT a "Tourist". Where on earth did this guy come up with "Tourist"??? Strange...

    • @groundchuck76
      @groundchuck76  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Come to think of it, I don’t know why I referred to him as a tourist. He was most likely a local. Sorry about that, but thanks for watching!

    • @CuriousEarthMan
      @CuriousEarthMan 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Charlie does correct himself the first time. I think also, the town guy is out of place to Charlie, he doesn't belong there, he's a tourist: an actor brought in for the moment. And in that area, you are of the community, or you are a tourist. So I see how "tourist" covers several aspects for him. I understand it like that. Also I don't remember the movie ever saying. If they came from Philly to harass in Lancaster, are they tourists then? And one of those town guys I think is the son of Jan Robes (Jacob Lap )

    2021: Humanity appreciates a glimpse into how neighborhood farmers built their Farm Houses from scratch.
    This is probably Harrison Fords best and favorite movie-scene as he is a self taught Carpenter in his real life.
    It’s my favorite scene due to the protagonist known as “MUSIC” !!!
