    Steps for printing Simulated Leather:
    --------------------------------------------------------
    A. The Inks and Bases needed to print Simulated Leather are as follows:
    1. Wilflex Fashion Soft Base
    2. Wilflex Cork Base
    3. Wilflex Sculpture Base
    4. Wilflex Rock Base
    5. Wilflex Pigment Concentrates (RFU inks can be used for colors, but final print results will vary)
    B. The screen mesh counts that will be needed and proper EOM for each:
    1. two 230 mesh screens with 20% EOM, these are for the Fashion Soft colors.
    2. one 110 mesh screen with 40% EOM, this will be used for the Rock Base color.
    3. one 86 mesh screen with 400 micron stencil (I use KIWO Thick Coat Emulsion, which I find yields the best results and is very easy to work with). This will be used for the Sculpture/ Cork Base mixture.
    C. Here are the 4 ink formulas/ mixtures for each color in the print:
    1. Wilflex Fashion Soft Base w/ 5% Black PC
    2. Wilflex Cork Base mixed with Wilflex Sculpture Base 50/50 ratio then add 5% PMS 7572c made with PC's only no Mixing Base
    3. Wilflex Fashion Soft Base w/ 1% Black PC and 3% Magenta PC
    4. Wilflex Rock Base w/ 5% Black PC
    These steps are also the print sequence for the design.
    D. Now that the screens and inks are ready to go, here are the instructions and press print parameters to make a Simulated Leather print.
    Head #1. 230 mesh screen with drop shadow art using Fashion Soft Black mix. 70/90/70 durometer squeegee, 15 degree angle, 40 psi with medium print speed.
    Head #2 86 mesh screen with 400 micron stencil and leather base art using the PMS 7572c Cork/ Sculpture Base ink mix. 60 durometer squeegee. 20 degree angle, 30 psi with medium print speed, double stroke. It may take several print passes for the ink to fully clear the screen and achieve good coverage, so plan on several test prints. Pressure here is key, you only want to lay the ink deposit on the shirt.
    Head #3. FLASH, now this is important. Set flash to 265 degrees, 90% power for Quartz Flash and 900 degrees for IR Flash, flash times will vary depending on type of Flash and pallet temperature. You only need the ink to start to gel, since the ink will expand slightly watch for it to lighten in color and be dry to the touch.
    Head #4. Cool down station.
    Head #5. 230 mesh screen with PC Black and Magenta Fashion Soft Base mix, 70 durometer squeegee, 15 degree angle 20 psi with fast print speed.
    Head #6. FLASH, 265 degrees at 90% power
    Head #7. Cool down station.
    Head #8. 110 mesh screen with Black PC Rock Base mix, 70/90/70 durometer squeegee, 10 degree angle 50 psi with medium print speed.
    Unload garment place on dryer belt and cure to a temperature of 320 degrees.

      @GraphicSolutionsGroup  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you’re correct. It’s basically 2 color, more if you add drop shadows. It is just a leather texture pattern you can find online.

    How did you get the stencil that thick without cap films? Looks like a high density print

    • @GraphicSolutionsGroup
      @GraphicSolutionsGroup  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, we used a high density screen with Kiwo Polycol thick-coat. If you check the description of the video there is actually a full tutorial with details on everything we used.
