I'm gutted... Because Christine Sinclair's legacy is at stake... She is the real deal... She is all that is great about the Canadian spirit/ ethos... Her competitive integrity, how could anyone question Christine Sinclair, never mind take something away from her that she fought so hard for- respect for Canadian women soccer players. Joey Lombardi needs to hire a publicist, man up, and do some interviews with some seasoned reporters/ journlists and let Canadians know what he was doing, what he was thinking, etc.? I am wondering if he thought he was entitled or exempt from being prosecuted for breaking national security laws in France (no drone flying)? I feel bad that Kevin Blue is doing these interviews about Canada Soccer staff who aren't his people and he gave the benefit of the doubt to that they would conduct themselves as "professionals."

As a Fan of leeds united ,this whole thing reminds me of "spygate" except using drone instead of man on public footpath... what came out was spying on opponents training was a standard practice in south america, leeds got fined 200 thousand pounds which Bielsa paid himself

Yes. Other teams use drones too. They should be investigated too.

All teams were forewarned to not use drones. The most embarrassing component is that they spied on NZ ranked 28th. That sends the message the Canadian team is shaking in their boots! Not encouraging given it’s their first Olympics post Christine Sinclair. Canada used to hold itself to higher standards. What happened? Priestman owes us an explanation and an apology. Then she needs to quit coaching permanently.

Not very smart. Why would you disclose so much information in the middle of an investigation? All it does is create more pressure and distraction to the players.

How is this a surprise? Every team ever has spied on other teams so they know how they move, how they play, how well they function as a team all so they can plan how to defeat them. Its no different from watching footage of old games. Is that spying? As long as they aren't dropping ipecac in their Gatorade who cares!

watching closed to the public practices is like somehow obtaining your opponents secret opening chess database. so, yes it is illegal, and yes it is cheating. have other teams been spying on other teams, yes, but that obviously does not make this better or worse.

If there is evidence that they cheated during the Tokyo Olympics the team should be stripped of its gold medal.

Canada must do the right thing and withdrawal after the group stage (people have already bought tickets to the matches) regardless of standing.

they would never do that on their own, they got deducted 6 points now, so they are out of the tourney, no matter if they win all their games.

Why do you make reference to the term 'ethical grey area'? Ethics is either right or wrong there is no grey area Mr. Blue. You might want to ditch the term from your vocabulary.
