Dude Alex, it’s the same singer on this song Christian Älvestam. He however left the band and they had to replace him with 2 singers. You should check out Christians new band called Solution .45, listen to Bleed Heavens Dry.
You need to check out some of the classic swedish melo death bands like At the gates, Dark tranquillity, (old) In flames or Soilwork. They are very influential to Avenged sevenfold and Trivium.

Wow, long since I last heard Scar Symmetry. I always thought they were very underrated. While Morphogenesis is their most famous song, they have much better ones. Try Artificial Sun Projection by them next. Probably my favorite song of theirs. They always have such epic and unique melodies.
I wouldn't leave out Norway and Denmark. Dimmu Borgir (Norway) and Volbeat (Denmark) are both awesome bands. I would really say, if a band is anywhere from scandinavia it's a good sign, that they could be great ^^
2:40 back in the day SS had 1 singer, Christian, who did harsh and clean amazingly. Later they changed him for 2, but even they couldn't do what Christian did alone imho. The best example is Prism and Gate from this album. He swaps between really deep, really high and harsh vocals every few words

Please react to Satyricon: Black Crow on a Tombstone; Katatonia: Forsaker; and Solitude Aeturnus: Opaque Divinity. Alex you are missing out on so many good bands that are much more unique than what you've been reacting to. Carcass are wonderful, and you should react to them.
Designated Hessian - Yep, and Carcass’ Necroticism and Tools of the Trade came out before that. In my mind it isn’t really about who was absolutely first with the style: I would classify the godfathers as Dark Tranquillity, At the Gates, and In Flames from Sweden, and Carcass from the UK. All were using melodeth elements in their songwriting around the same time and they collectively pioneered the sound

This was the first song I heard by Scar Symmetry back in the day and I was instantly hooked on their music, Christian Älvestam, the vocalist on Scar Symmetry’s first 3 albums is a beast on vocals, his growls are so deep and guttural but still clear and his clean vocals just kept on getting better and better over the years... After the first 3 albums and Christian’s departure from the band, I tried to hang on and give the next 2 albums a chance, when they got the 2 new vocalists to fill the spot of Christian, they made some good songs, no doubt about that, but I gotta admit that I never really got into the singing style of the 2 new vocalists, 1 on cleans and 1 growler, so my attention followed Christian on his way with the band Solution.45, I love their music and Christian have also made some solo stuff that is totally different from these bands, I love his solo material so much too, it’s very melodic and atmospheric, he’s a brilliant artist... Great reaction Alex, love your channel brother, you nearly gave me a heart attack with the title on the video you posted the other day, with “Quitting reaction videos!!?” I was like nooooooo, you can’t quit, then I watched the video and saw it was a question from one of our Hefnerds family members... 😃
If you like Swedish melodic metal and enjoyed In Flames, consider 'Trigger' by In Flames and 'Rejection Role' by Soilwork. Those are two videos filmed at the same time by the same director for two bands, and one band guest star in the other's video and vice versa. I'm sure you'll love both the music and the videos, they're both truly "dope" and the cameos are brilliant! Great job as usual, thanks Alex!
Since the departure of Christian Alvestam it has not been the same Scar Symmetry. Sorry, ultimately, The Dark Dimmenssion was good but after this one it's no longer the same thing

I am a little late to the party on this one. Scar Symmetry is one of my favorite bands. That said. Okay Christian is the first vocalist, he handled all vocal work. Gotta recommend Dante's Inferno by Iced Earth, either the re-recording with Stu Block singing or the Live in Athens with Matt Barlow. Another recommendation would be the band Into Eternity from Canada, since you mentioned liking clean vocals and understandable screaming vocals, the best song would probably be Pain Through Breathing (they have a lot of songs with some hard to understand growling, but most is clean or understandable). And as a last recommendation (for now) there's the song Face of Melinda by Opeth, another amazing Swedish Progressive Death Metal band, most of their vocals are growling (although more understandable than a lot of other bands' growling), but this song is entirely clean vocals and even a lot of acoustic guitar.
Growling vocals werent my cup of tea till I semi forced myself to listen to Make Them Suffer after a friend recommended them to me. They grew on me and one of my favorite vocals :). You'll get there Alex, keep up the dope videos

Who cares about what he says during the growled vocals, treat his voice as just another instrument that's adding to the intensity. The vocalist's range is so impressive and I've had this album for so many years. The guitar is insane too. I recommend their songs "Timewave Zero" and "Prism and Gate" for REALLY IMPRESSIVE vocals!
Seeing how he always enjoys solid guitar solos, it's about time he listened to the masters like steve vai, joe satriani and some of the more modern, but technical crazy guitarists like tosin abasi (animals as leaders) :D
I'm relatively early but they's already hundreds of comments ughhhh but I'm still gonne leave a recommendation lol xD Consider reacting to *Soilwork* , they're also from Sweden and it's one of the biggest melodeath bands, and the singer alterns beautiful cleans and grunts :-) There's a live duo with Floor Jansen if you'd like, called _Let This River Flow_ (official video from their live DVD), otherwise I'd recommend the classic _Nerve_ :-)

Van Canto - Battery, please!!, they are a very unique band, if or when you choose to do a reaction go in blind don't do research on them, just know that the song is a cover of Battery by Metallica and that they are very unique.
I agree with van canto but I'd suggest "lost forever" or something... I can't lie, even tho I love them now, i laughed my ass of watching the video of battery and couldn't take them seriously til I gave them another chance.
If you're looking for another tune by them I might personally suggest Mind Machine or Deviate From The Form. Those are my two personal favorites. Good stuff as always dude! Really look forward to seeing how you like this branch of metal!
Since you like melodic, Swedish and non-scream/grunt/growl etc, check out Sabaton! They make pretty much all their songs about historical events, some people learn more from them than from their history teachers :D

Evergrey - King of errors. Evergrey is a swedish band. Tom Englund, the singer, has a powerful voice. He doesn't scream, your taste of vocals. The solos are in a holyshit realm all on it's own. You won't regret it, lol.

So glad to hear some Scar Symmetry on here. Wonderful band and really digging the reaction, man. I'm still more of a fan of Christian on vocals, but the new guys certainly don't pull any punches either. And the guitar work on a lot of their other tracks ("The Kaleidoscopic God" and "Deviate from the Form" come to mind) just blows me away. Definitely check out their first two albums Symmetric in Design & Pitch Black Progress for some wonderful times.

Van Canto - Battery, please!!, they are a very unique band, if or when you choose to do a reaction go in blind don't do research on them, just know that the song is a cover of Battery by Metallica and that they are very unique.
I agree with van canto but I'd suggest "lost forever" or something... I can't lie, even tho I love them now, i laughed my ass of watching the video of battery and couldn't take them seriously til I gave them another chance.

If you're looking for another tune by them I might personally suggest Mind Machine or Deviate From The Form. Those are my two personal favorites. Good stuff as always dude! Really look forward to seeing how you like this branch of metal!

Since you like melodic, Swedish and non-scream/grunt/growl etc, check out Sabaton! They make pretty much all their songs about historical events, some people learn more from them than from their history teachers :D
They HAD only one vocalist until Christian left and was replaced with two new ones, one on cleans and one growler. However, they are often compared to Soilwork whose vocalist is called Björn. Fantastic band, but this is far from one of their better tracks. Check out Ghost Prototype 1 or Kaleidoscopic God. Good luck on your finals, bruh.

Evergrey - King of errors. Evergrey is a swedish band. Tom Englund, the singer, has a powerful voice. He doesn't scream, your taste of vocals. The solos are in a holyshit realm all on it's own. You won't regret it, lol.

So glad to hear some Scar Symmetry on here. Wonderful band and really digging the reaction, man.
I'm still more of a fan of Christian on vocals, but the new guys certainly don't pull any punches either. And the guitar work on a lot of their other tracks ("The Kaleidoscopic God" and "Deviate from the Form" come to mind) just blows me away.
Definitely check out their first two albums Symmetric in Design & Pitch Black Progress for some wonderful times.
