I just started Etsy probably about two months ago and I’ve been watching your channel for about a month and I definitely need to work on my shop appearance. Get things in order with my shop sections or product sections. Get a nice banner, but I did not know all this went into it, I’ve heard that it doesn’t matter what your shop looks like but then I’m starting to watch other TH-camrs and say that it really does matter so eventually I guess I will do the ads. It’s just really intimidating right now.

Hi Shawna, as always good content. I use to run ads for $5 dollars which I know is not a lot, but I tried to spend $20 at least for a week and in one day I had 7 sales but next 2 days one sale so I went back to the $5, should I try at least for a entire week? How often do you analyze them? Thanks ❤
Hey there! Was it spending all $20 and you felt like you were unprofitable and is that why you turned it off? Or did you just get frustrated because one day it seemed to be working and on the other two days it didn’t seem to be working? If it was unprofitable, I would be in there cleaning up my search terms just about every day except when you first start you kinda wanna let things go for 30 days and see what’s up…. That will give the algorithm a chance to do its thing…. With that being said though, I would not let it spend $20 a day without me going in there and turning all the bad search terms off!
Hey there! I haven't actually thought about that before! I definitely have some single shirt listings that do well on ads but I will start paying attention about how many I turn off! I also have group listings that I have to turn off all the time becaue they lose me so much money! But off the top of my head I would say I have a bigger percentage of well performing group listings than I do single shirts. Great question!
I've never had the glitch that doesn't show the ability to switch off terms. You might need to update your browser. I do sometimes have a glitch that doesn't even let me click into the searches that simply refreshing my screen always fixes.
When first getting started I would set it for 30 days but after consistently working on it for a few days I would start setting it for 1 week and and maybe 2 or three days to get a full picture of what is happening! Hope this helps!
I’m a little confused if I should put all the items that are a certain niche in one group or sweaters together that say different things or like you said if you’re looking for golfer stuff if I should put all that as a section, so there is so much that I’m learning and it’s very confusing
Hey there! I have my shop set up with sections for niches but setting it up by product is great too! Most of the time customers will find you in search results anyway and not actually go into you shop sections. They can also use the search tab to search your shop for a specific niche. Yes, but how do you make certain that there are relevant products in the “Other things from this Shop” section? Does Etsy populate that based on matching keywords, are they take from your “Shop Section” Tab, or is done in some other way?
Hey Shawna! Love your videos on Etsy ads! Question, how old or how long do you give for a listing to update the ROAS. I have been running Etsy ads for a month and have daily gone and reviewed the key words, I have also made changes to pricing and listing details, but there are still some with low ROAS, I don't know if it is too soon to turn the ads off on those.

The budget you set is the maximum you are willing to spend, if you don't hit the maximum Etsy will only charge you for the amount that was spent so there is no rollover or anything like that (it's not like a pre-authorized charge at a gas pump for example)

BTW, I love how you show the value in having multiple listings of the same niche to help keep a customer in your shop. That is one thing I am focusing on. One additional question, trying to bulk up for Q4, what month do you suggest to start listing Halloween/Fall items? With Etsy giving a boost on new listings, I don't want to do it too soon if not heavily searched just yet but also being a new shop, I want to allow enough time for Etsy algorithm to pick these up so I feel like it's a fine line. When I get this glitch if I access ads from my mobile device it allows me to turn the keywords on and off more time consuming but worth it to turn old the broad terms
