- The 'Las Piñas-Zapote River System Rehabilitation Program' in The Philippines, won the category 1 'Best water management practices' 1st edition of 'Water for Life' UN-Water Best Practices Award. This video introduces the initiative which, implemented by the Villar Foundation, has succeeded in bringing Las Piñas-Zapote River and its tributaries back to life, allowing wealth generation from waste that once polluted the river and creating work and housing for a population that used to live in shacks.
Brilliant program and job well done!!! I hope the squatters see the benefits of keeping the places clean.

The Villar Foundation is an example that other rich people in the country can emulate. If we care enough about taking care of our environment it will eventually results to a better life for the economically disadvantage Filipinos. Clean environment creates jobs and this is one example of it.

i am from las piñas,i could assure you that this project is working,but it is on a slow pace. Our rivers and esuaries are cleaner than the year before and its in that constant groove since 2014

Bakit hindi nangyari Ito sa mga nakaraang administration? Pwede naman palang sabay sabay ang paglinis ng environment kung talagang gusto. Sana gawin din nilang katulad ng Pasig River para maganda ang maging itsura. Pwede din sigurong daan para mabawasan ang traffic sa Manila at maging water drainage kung may baha. Very proud ako talaga sa ating country ngayon. God bless ang ating Pangulo kahit siya ay nagmumura mapagmahal naman sa kanyang bayan. Siguro kailangan lang talagang murahin ang mga salut. Sino naman ang gustong magmura kung matino ang mga katunggali at minahal nila ang kanilang kaisa isa nilang bansa.

Mario Dizon anong good job villar ehh basura nila yan lahat kaya nagbabaha n s las pinas Kc un mga dating palaisadaan at asin kinamkam nila at ginawa nilang tapunan ng basura kya daming may tuberculosis n Tao s las pinas. Halos ng buong las pinas kanila n ginagawang subdivision or private cemetery at condo kinamkam nila ng kinamkam s mga Tao s las pinas yan!
sana maging modelo ang proyektong ito sa buong bansa upang maging malinis ang kapaligiran. Dapat imulat sa mga mamamayan at bigyan edukasyon ang mga bagong sibol na kabataan na hangga't maaari aiwasan ang magkalat ng basura. Patawan ng parusa ang mahuling nagkakalat ng basura halimbawa ay bugbugin at ikulong ng 3 araw sa kulungan. Kung maraming basura ang itinapon multahan ng 40,000 pesos at may kasamang bugbog.
Praise GOD, they have done a great Job, Their place should be made a model for other community especially in Metro Manila.

Wowowowowowowowwow naman, saludo ako saiyo Senator Villar and your entire brilliant foundation`s team. I wished and hope many part of the country follow suit and copy your foundations goal and achievements. I used to lived in Zapote, Bacoor Cavite late 50`s, most part of my childhood through to college. We used to jump over the boundary Cavite, Zapote Las Pinas bridge for a swim many many years ago with so many of friends, as it was pristine during the 50`s and 60`s.
